Doctor of what? Viruses are too small to settle out of the atmosphere. Droplets carrying a viral load can settle out of the atmosphere - for example, when you cough, you distribute droplets over nearby surfaces, including the faces (and nasal linings -mucosal membranes) of people nearby. But viruses do not. And, in fact, viruses aren't typically transmitted through the air. They're transmitted by touch - you touch a contaminated surface, then touch your face (and you probably touch your face once every 10 minutes, on average.) If the doctor were correct, you'd get sicker in summer, because surfaces would be more contaminated as viruses settled out of the atmosphere. The doctor's an idiot. He probably read and completely misunderstood Lowen, Mubareka, Steel, and Palese (2007).

Ruth Bader Ginsberg has pancreatic cancer
DC Tom replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
God help her if she has to have spleen surgery. -
No. This is actually one of the stupider things I've ever heard. The reason is that cold air is generally drier, which dries out your mucous membranes, which weakens your first defense against airborne infections. That, and you spend more time indoors, in artificially heated, drier air...which not only weakens the first layer of your immune system but also puts you in closer contact to other people, which makes it easier to spread illness. But viruses don't "absorb" or "get coated by" or interact with water vapor in any way that makes them more or less susceptible to being airborne. That is... I know my mom used to get sick because I wasn't wearing a sweater. Since people carry and spread viruses, this is actually less stupid than what you posted. That's how stupid what you posted is. It's dumber than racism.

I don't know who's actually paying attention to him, now that Deadspin's a rotted corpse.

Ruth Bader Ginsberg has pancreatic cancer

It's pancreatic cancer. The prognosis is that she should have died a couple months ago. Seriously..no cancer is a picnic, but pancreatic is the B word-mother of all cancers. -

Oh yeah...he also made his bones dealing with the NYC media. So good luck, national media drones. -

I'll bet Amy Barrett Cohen is nominated, and an eleventh hour accusation of activities like Katie Hill's comes out of left field, and Democrats immediately decide Cohen is the devil even though they still believe Hill's a victim. -

"Keyser." He was't a German emperor, just a schmuck from Turkey. Rudy made his bones on convicting the NY Mafia. If nothing else, he's made his whole career on officially investigating things everyone already knew. This is no different. After this, he's probably going to announce Epstein didn't kill himself. -
So in 2016, our choices were a guy who takes thing way too personally, holds grudges, is unforgiving, knows it, and acts accordingly; and a woman who takes things way too personally, holds grudges, is unforgiving, and won't admit it and pretends to be the exact opposite. Hmmm...let me think about this...

The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency
DC Tom replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The true measure of how fake this is is that Gallagher was only found guilty of posing for a picture with a corpse. The court martial acquitted him of everything else. No one's resigning over that. -
No, they should honor the socialist principles of the protesters and award both teams a loss.

We ought to go in to business together for black-market foie gras smuggling. You can keep all the money, I just want the surreality.
-
Just think of how awesome that would be. Instead of "Hail to the Chief," the new Presidential anthem would be... Tell me you don't want to see Trump walk into an impeachment hearing to that.

Bob identifies as a victim. He can't do that if he ignores the people he thinks are victimizing him. His psychology is really that simple. DR isn't preventing Bob from enjoying the board. Bob's enjoyment of the board is based in being a victim of DR's posts. Bob's complaining is him telling us how much he's enjoying himself. Same way he no doubt used to enjoy being a victim of marijuana legislation, but now that it's becoming increasingly acceptable, he has to push it as a miracle snake-oil cure-all so he can be a victim of rational people's skepticism. It's just Bob being Bob.

I hope she leaves him, just to see the resulting endless stream of strippers and porn stars accompanying Trump at state functions.

Not having him and Cunningham over Vick makes that list completely ridiculous.
