Thanks, Elmo...

The Holocaust was not war. That's kind-of the point of calling it "The Holocaust."
-
Yes. Just not what he thinks.

Hey...another hockey stick graph. Global Warming and Global Banking are related. WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!!

You're putting a lot of effort in to rebutting someone who's only coherent when complaining about fish...

Like "Miramax."

People are tribal. "Racism" is just the newest slur used to demean the opposing tribes.

There's a compelling argument to be made - by people much smarter than you (i.e. just about anyone) - that the past 200 years have been an aberration, and the practice of slavery is the rule rather than the exception. Of course, the same could be said for just about any aspect of Western civilization.
-
I wonder about the relative magnitude of that, since demand in the slave trade was fulfilled in no small part by internecine warfare between West African tribes, and there's no reliable baseline of pre-trade violence to judge slavery's impact on that violence. In other words: how much of it was its own tragedy, and how much exploiting a pre-existing tragedy. But the Belgian Congo and King Leopold's management of it...that was a true horror show, every bit as bad as the Holocaust.

Really feeling your oats now, aren't you?

Was this irony accidental, or an expression of your rye sense of humor?

A private purchase of stock between two individuals away from the market isn't a wash sale. And even if it were, a wash sale isn't illegal. It complicates the tax accounting...but complicated tax accounting isn't illegal.

And if he ran for office, he'd lose, because he's not nearly PC enough.

Even if you qualified for membership before this post, you just disqualified yourself.

Actually, there'd probably be fewer. No EPA or FWS concerns, and the property rights and states' rights issues are simpler. Now, if they were used, that'd be a circus.

He'll be lucky if the preliminary design review done by 2020. Presuming this somehow gets fully funded with $5B, let me tell you what happens: they have the design review, and a slew of lawsuits come out of it. DOI sues to divert the wall around national parks, individuals sue to block eminent domain, the EPA sues to block it on ecological grounds, multiple petitions to block construction under the Endangered Species Act, every state gets involved - either denying permits, or seeing lawsuits to have them denied under state environmental laws. $10B later, the lawsuits still aren't resolved, the wall isn't built, and everyone complains "Trump lied!" because his $5B wall has already cost twice that and still isn't built. It's how they block nuclear plants. It's how they'll block this. We're in for a long, retarded, expensive fight over something that's a ridiculous idea to begin with.

Mine was, between me working at Ginnie and my wife doing high-end real estate closings,. knowing all the crap IO neg-am mortgages that had been written starting in 2002 that would start foreclosing in 2007. It was rather amazing to have enough data to call that almost to the month. The 2009 bear market...I remember talking to my mother on Easter, and her telling me "Oh, I sold all my stock a month ago, it was just going down and my financial adviser told me I should sell it." Easter was April 12; the market bottomed on March 9. She, on the "advice" of her "financial adviser" (which might be a Tickle Me Elmo doll) sold almost exactly at the bottom of a historically bad market. And yes, I told her next time she wants to do that to call me, and I'll buy her shares at a premium above the market. Her Tickle Me Elmo doll advised her that would be illegal.

I actually have the perfect market timing system. My mother always, without fail, manages to buy at market tops and sell at bottoms. She's still thinking "My stocks will bounce back." We haven't bottomed yet. When she says "My stock isn't doing anything, I have to sell it," then we've bottomed.

What is better, no guns, or more guns?

I regret watching that. -
Square-cube law. Structural strength is based on cross-section, weight on volume. So a body is proportionally stronger the smaller it is. It's why, when you drop them down a well, squirrels bounce, people break, and horses splatter. Plus, they're full of HGH, so they heal much quicker when you do break them. And that kid is wrapped in a lot of padding.

All at the same time...and they signed a basketball, right?

George Thorogood can write his name? Let's see...I've got Thurman, Kelly, Bruce, and Andre, all on one helmet. Jeff Wright, House Ballard. Dennis Miller. Couple of political figures I won't mention, a few authors. And I've signed some as "Alec Baldwin," "Nathan Fillion," and "Jesse Armistad," because people are ***** idiots. ("You look familiar...do you play football?" "No." "You play linebacker for the Giants, don't you?" "No." "Yes, you do, can I have your autograph?" "Sure, what the hell...the Giants play in Dallas on Sunday, so I don't know why the hell I'd be in Salt Lake City on Friday afternoon, but I'm sure you're right and I'm wrong..."

This is great. I've been waiting for a buying opportunity for two years.
