The Deep State War Heats Up
DC Tom replied to Deranged Rhino's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The replies to those are magnificent. They range from "Trump's lying," to "Trump is 'The Big Lady'," to "The Clintons are innocent, because they didn't know." -
"You can dance on the sidelines. Or save it for the Texans."

Yeah, but his opponents, they was hand-picked. They wasn't setups. They was good fighters, but they wasn't killers.

"Tre, we need you for your first of many playoff games. So you're inactive."

Thad Brown: The Bills Have Nothing Left To Prove
DC Tom replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also keep in mind they have been unusually healthy this season - the only significant losses have been Harrison Phillips and, the past month, Ty Nshecke. Next season will be interesting, when they have four starters on IR by October. -
I think they're both in, but it's not determined yet who wins the NFC West, so SF and Seattle each could be the division winner or the #5 seed. But the Vikings are solidly at #6.

There is one primary reason we lost this game
DC Tom replied to foreboding's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It came down to what it always comes down to: Patriots don't make mistakes. If you make mistakes against them, you lose. And this year's offense has a sandlot element to it, where they, if not embrace mistakes, at least accept them as opportunities for Josh Allen to improvise big plays. That'll beat a lot of teams, but not the Pats. Plus...it doesn't hurt to pay off the officials. It was pretty funny that the ref had to admonish the timeskeepers that the clock stops on the visiting team's incompletions. -
Since the advent of the 4-division system, the #5 seed wins the Wild Card game slightly more than 50% of the time...which makes a certain sense, since it's a match between the strongest non-division winner and weakest division winner. On those grounds alone, I'm hopeful...but honestly, it's a coin-flip, and we still have a week of regular season football to go (where people can get injured - if they play Tre White next week, I'm going to have a heart attack.)

And they convert it. The Giants-Redskins game is halfway through OT. NFL Redzone doesn't even care.

No time left, 25 yard pass caught for the TD.

Bengals just recovered an onside kick, down by 8. They are doing their absolute best to tank their tank.

For people who are wondering what the Civil War looks like, here it is. -
Interesting that Obama's reluctance to address Russia's meddling in US Elections in 2016 wasn't a "huge problem."

GE's already being sued for killing it. -
I'm a big fan of brainy chicks. I'm far less a fan of predictive analytics in the sack.

No, he got 15 years because Iowa has a "habitual offender" statute, and because this idiot explicitly confessed to a hate crime, it elevated the class A misdemeanor of third-degree arson to a class D felony. And since this moron had two previous felony convictions, it was his third strike, and carried a 15 year minimum. Now there's a whole lot of stupid packed in that - the unconstitutionality of "three strikes" and "habitual offender" laws, mandatory sentencing guidelines, the unconstitutionality of "hate speech" laws in general, and in this specific case. But ultimately, he wasn't given a 16 years sentence for burning a rainbow flag; he was given a 16 year sentence for violating a set of statutes that criminalizes being an inveterate shitmudgeon. And that's the discussion you should have - not about "homosexual orthodoxy," but about a statutory justice system that is demonstratively unconstitutional. But you'll discuss "homosexual orthodoxy" instead. Because you're Joe. Don't be Joe, kids.
