The true irony being that, in DC, pretty much only the President gets to live close to work. -

Ten million children were cut in half in 2017? And you're celebrating it? That's horrible! -
The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency

They are indeed. I want to see Snopes fact-check this one... https://babylonbee.com/news/snopes-the-claim-that-trump-is-hitler-lacks-concrete-evidence-but-alludes-to-a-deeper-truth -
Michigan bans flavored e-cigs. People are outraged. In other news, the Governor of Michigan apparently has the authority to create a new criminal statute out of thin air, but people are far less outraged about that. Seriously, Michigan...what the *****?

I'm kind-of ambivalent to this. Though such sharing shouldn't be done by a private citizen on his own hook, I like the idea of commonality in equipment to support submarine rescue operations. -
Unlikely without other indicators. But it's Trump, and he's an idiot, so I have to admit it's possible he'd say "Let's activate the ready reserve, just to scare Iran!" without understanding that it is in no way going to scare Iran. So I can't say it's completely impossible, just unlikely and stupid. No, I do not. I try not to recall facebook at all.

Dating crazy is a young man's game. Banging crazy, on the other hand...hell, any man of any age can do that.
-
Hell of a lot of lift capacity, though. Each Ro-Ro can carry roughly a battalion task force, which means that total activated force is theoretically enough to carry about two heavy divisions plus limited logistical support (a couple of weeks, maybe). Or, roughly speaking, the heavy component (minus airborne forces) of the invasion of Iraq. If it is something, we'll see other indicators: increased Marine training cycles, NG activation, movements to ports of these ships for loading (they're maintained at 5-day readiness, but not kept laden), sudden new orders cut for the amphibious fleet. I highly doubt we'll see any of that - that's a months-long lead time for the commitment of a force that would require as much tonnage as this activation represents.
-
Dammit. That means I'm going to be even more racist for not voting for a candidate who belongs to a party I'm absolutely boycotting.
-
Probably a readiness exercise. Those ships are held in 5-day readiness, they have to test that occasionally (annually or more frequently). Since those are all in CONUS, and this apparently doesn't involve any frontline prepositioning ships, it's probably nothing. Fun fact: the TS Golden Bear is actually a California State University campus.

People forget that KSA has a defense agreement in place with Israel, including overfly rights. And there's a reason Israel got operational F-35s early.

Remember when she was paid by the Guatemalan government to run positive stories denying Guatemala's human rights abuses? Good times... -
That's your evidence of support for women's rights? Driving? And he even references his earlier work al Watan, which I already told you to read, which you won't. The real sadness of all this is you think you're informed, but you never even heard of Khashoggi until after he was killed, nor have you bothered to find out anything about him since that wasn't spoon-fed to you in the Washington Post's extended obit of him.
-
1) That's not what I said. 2) Do the research. Let's be very clear: I outlined what you should look in to, you were too lazy to do it and asked me to summarize, I summarized, and you make a claim way the hell out of left field that has absolutely nothing to do with anything I've said. Go read Khashoggi's articles - not the ones in the WP, which are limited strictly to "Bin Salman doesn't like me, and I don't like him." Read the earlier ones, in al-Arabia, Ashart al-Awsat, and al-Madina. ***** educate yourself for once, you houseplant. Link? (Spoiler alert: there isn't one. I've looked, you haven't.)

I'm assuming the inflation of "after inflation" doesn't include property taxes or state and municipal taxes and fees (permitting and such)? Which means this is tailored to allow the state to squeeze landlords out of property ownership. Never mind the fact that the CPI is includes rent/housing costs...so indexing to the CPI creates a second-order circular dependency. Good luck with the unintended consequences of that. How ***** stupid is California, anyway?

You know...I remember my junior year in college, when I started hearing stories about how a girl freshman year entered my dorm room, stumbling drunk, mistakenly thinking it was hers (she was one floor directly below), took her clothes off, and jumped in to bed with me. I heard that story from at least a dozen people. What actually happened was she mistook my room for hers, and was trying to unlock the door (with a guy in tow), and I had to point out to her she was on the wrong floor. Then she dropped her beer and didn't spill any, which was the only thing that made the story notable (red Solo cup, nearly full, landed perfectly flat, didn't lose a drop). I still don't understand how that became "random mistaken drunk sex" two years later by multiple people. I also don't understand why, when she and I both denied it, everyone thought we were wrong, based solely on the "Well, that's what I heard!" logic. But they did. And "Well that's what I heard!" is still really stupid ***** logic. Aw, Jesus. Now we have a week of "First Amendment violation! IMPEACH" shrieking to look forward to.
