"Fun" fact: In 1912, there were 374 cases of lung cancer reported worldwide. In 1917, free cigarettes are included in US rations (through the "generosity" of the tobacco companies) in the rations of US troops going to Europe. In 1925, there are roughly 5000 cases of lung cancer reported in the US alone. In the 1920s, the lung cancer epidemic from cigarettes was about as big a crisis as the AIDS epidemic was in the 80s.

At this point I'd vote for genuine and good person. I could probably tolerate her presidency, as she's not a congenital idiot. But she'd have to run as an independent. I won't support the Democratic party. -
What will happen if the Bills do win this weekend

If the Bills win this weekend, they will enter the top ten in all the power rankings...but still be behind New England at #1. -
Got to get one of those for the cats... Why does Phil Collins have braids, why does David Lynch have a pitchfork, and when in the '80s did they pose together for this?

Someone forgot to tell Biden: you never go full gatorman. -
Easily. It's marvelous direction and cinematography, putting you right in the action instead of watching it from outside. I've heard where the sequence at 6:20, with Val Kilmer reloading, has been used in training riflemen (although mostly in the sense of "Look, this Hollywood actor can do it right. So can you.") It's a tribute to the training the actors went through - and the blocking and direction - that they got so many little details so right. Too many actors and filmmakers forget that today: get the littlest details right, it makes the viewer part of the story and holds them there. The moment you miss a detail, it knocks the viewer out of the story and makes them an observer.

Awards are discriminatory. The Emmys are a tool of cis-patriarchial oppression. -
