But I believe the point was they were going to go with someone like Taylor for this season and wanted to draft someone next year. Maybe they stick with Tannehill? Theres always Bortles.........

The issue with being out of 'cash' had to do with being able to pay guaranteed money because that has to be paid into a fund now. They still have cap room and can pay salary throughout the season, it's the guaranteed portion that they wouldnt be able to do because they have to have that actual money set aside.

So without Eichel in the lineup they end up with the same results as with him in the lineup. They arent that much behind the middle of the pact, lower level playoff teams talent wise on paper (or at least shouldn't be). The problem is, very few of the guys arent under achieving to where they should be. Coaching is not helping to improve them and make them better. The biggest issue is that the continue to spin their wheels when it comes to talent. They always seem to be looking to replace talent that they let go of instead of adding talent to what they already have. I dont think they would have had much of an issue salary cap wise had the kept Kane or ROR and still made the Skinner trade.

Yeah, some places and employers may care whether your degree came from an Ivy league school or a community college, some employers may view some degrees from some schools better then others, or a lower GPA at an ivy league school better or equal to a high GPA at a lower school. But the majority dont as long as you got the degree and experience. They always made such a big deal in school that you should get the best grades, and go to a great school, but once your done school, very few employers care about your grades if you graduated from the required program. They dont care if you got a 75% in your final exam or a 90%. For many, it's more the status of saying them or their parents being able to say that they went to a big name school. I dont really get the big deal here, rich parents have done this for decades, but usually they just have to fund a library, or fund part of a new sports field or facility and their kids are accepted in.

No, I think they had their weddings funded by a con man who screws over contractors and others while filing for bankruptcy, and has almost as many sexual assault allegations against him as Weinstein. Hows your orange boys foundations doing? No corruption there.......... It's much more believable that the 4 daughters of previous presidents you mentioned would at least be close enough to being able to get into a high level school on their own then any of the current presidential 'children'....... Compared to the guy in office today, yeah they are pretty clean........

Lombardi tweets Barr might not be the only flip
apuszczalowski replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it has more to do with the following - player doesnt want to look bad going back on a deal that was agreed to in principal - teams dont want to look bad making a deal and then not following through on it - Other teams dont want to have teams one upping their offers and stealing away players they made a deal with so they dont do it themselves. Whining and dining is old school. These guys today just want to get paid, then they can go and pay for their own fancy meals whenever they want with their friends instead of some old billionaire they have nothing in common with. -
I was just talking to someone this morning about this. I think they are going to now be the popular favorite, but I dont think it's a guarantee. Pittsburgh lost a WR who quit on them late in the season and his distraction may have cost them the playoffs, and a mediocre TE (not bad, but average/replaceable). Bell didnt play a down all last season so they technically already lost him last year. People assume that Ben is not liked in the lockerroom because of ABs comments, but that may or may not be true. They are still a good team and have time to make a few moves in FA and the draft that could keep them near the top of the division. Baltimore's defence took a hit (which was their strength) and are now relying on an offence led by a QB who is not viewed as much as a passing threat, buy can hurt you on the run. That team will.live and die by their offence this season and whether Lamar can be enough of a passer to keep the offence going without just relying on him scrambling. Cincy may or may not be in rebuild mode I dont think they got much worse this offseason, but i they havent really gotten any better unless you view the coaching change as a huge improvement, which might be the difference for them this season. The Browns have made the biggest splash so far, but new coaches and a QB in his second year could have them taking a step back if everything doesnt mesh together right and Mayfield doesnt continue to develop. The are one of the favorites to win the offseason this year, but that doesnt usually mean they win during the season.

So ...who knows where the Pegula jet is....

Nah, they would probably prefer the private jet, cant fit your crew, champagne and a bunch of ladies in an F-18 with you..... -
What are the Colts doing?
apuszczalowski replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They were a playoff team last year and I believe also kne of the youngest teams? They are resigning their own and were looking to upgrade at #2 WR. Theres no need to go crazy in FA this year just because they have the money. -
One of the Winners/Losers of FA list Ibsaw this morning had the Jets as one of the winners.......because of the Barr deal. Guess they wrote that list a little too quickly...... Actually ,I would say the opposite, players have more time to make decisions because they cant sign anything official yet. Your agent can contact all the teams, get ideas and numbers and you have a few days to make something official. Once FA starts and you agree on a deal, a team will have tou signing the contract as soon as you can get to their facility.

Lombardi tweets Barr might not be the only flip
apuszczalowski replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They haven't signed anything and cant under league rules make anything official until the new league year starts. So there are no 'rules' right now, just teams and agents/players discussing and coming to terms on a future deal. A team could always come back at a player with a better offer before they sign and convince someone to go elsewhere, or another move could convince someone that they made a mistake and dont want to sign there anymore. A team could also change its mind and take back the offer This is just a negotiating period and nothing is official during it, although most stick with the deals negotiated because they dont want to be viewed poorly by going back on a deal in case they need to go back through this process again. -

But anyone who actually agreed to something already would be signing around 4pm today most likely. -

Bills one of 6 teams in on Leveon Bell
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who knows today. Everytime you turn around someone has another team interested or backing out. The only consistent has been that it's likely Ravens or Jets -
Where did I ever say that I thought they should have stayed put with what they had or that Morse wasnt a decent signing? All i said was that he was the 2nd best guy on the market and wasnt talked about like Paradis was. You guys are acting like the Bill's just signed Mario William's again in getting Morse and that he spurned the rest of the league to sign with them.

apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He would have a difficult time proving that, there are teams out there making legitimate offers and interest in him, they just arent to him and his agents high level. I thought Packers were out too..... -
Ok, show me one report listing him as the top C available, and show me some rumor or report of teams that were interested in him as their top choice. The top choice in the FA C market was Paradis, Morse was viewed as the next best available option, or sonsolation prize for a team that couldnt get Paradis

Well let's see how these guys work out in the field first before anointing the front office as geniuses. Up until now when talking about other teams everyone kept saying how FAs dont have much of an effect on their new teams and how teams may look good on paper..........

What Bellicheat has been up to....
apuszczalowski replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then they draft one early and he gets to catch passes from Brady as part of his 'development'. If not, someone in the league will probably trade him a TE for a late round pick who can start for a couple seasons at a higher level.... -
Although that not setting the bar high considering some of the guys they will be replacing...... Theres nothing wrong with the players they signed, they all appear to be upgrades (Johnson and Gore are questionable upgrades) for decent value that will help. They arent guys that ate going to blow people away, but they are good signings that will help.
-
The Bills have also always been able to sign FAs, they have never gone into a season fielding only half a roster cause no one wanted to sign. Its whether they can get the top level guys to agree. Lower level FAs, big names at the tail end of their careers, they will sign wherever the can in most cases. Yes, one year the Bill's signed Mario William's after days of wooing and offering huge money. But it's not common, and none of the guys they are set to sign would be considered the elite guys. Morse might be the highest level guy, but he wasnt even the biggest name at his position, and there weren't a ton of teams with a guaranteed starting spot at C in the league.
