Who has never watched game of thrones?
apuszczalowski replied to mead107's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I usually can only do 1 to maybe 3 episodes a night for shows longer then 30 minutes, and I typically don't while on my computer working with one monitor playing the show and the other with my work. I could never do multiple seasons of a 45 min+ show in a week. What makes these shows worse is that they are commercial free so the full show runtimep is 45 minutes +. Who here is bragging about not watching it? A question was asked and people answered. -

At first I thought that it was as bad as you think, like most HBO shows it's only maybe 8-12 episodes per season, but then I started doing the math and since they are all atleast about an hour with no commercials, your looking at a season a day and either barely sleeping or not going to work....... -
I dont think so, multi sport stadiums are being phased out, too many issues with sightlines and field conditions to worry about. If things are really bad for them to start the season, they would be better off asking the league to front load their schedule with away games or renovate the stadium to add a roof or enclosed areas to block the weather. This got me thinking, is there a minor league team that plays in an indoor stadium?

I think that's something both sides can agree on.... Kinda makes you laugh when you then see the Bill's and Sabres supporting Green initiatives.....

You should probably consider yourself lucky the Jay's are their affiliate because the guys in charge care more about their minor league prospects and system then they do the major league team. Also, IIRC, the guys currently in charge of the Jay's are the guys who were in Charge of the Indians for some of their time being the Bisons parent club). The Jay's have one of the top farm systems in the MLB (atleast that's what Jay's fans keep telling anyone who dares complain about the product currently on the field) Minor league baseball isnt about winning or losing, it's about player development and preparing guys for the majors or storing depth until needed. AAA is also the level which is mostly made up with guys fighting to make the MLB transition, older players trying to work their way back into the majors, or MLB players rehabbing injuries. Teams better young prospects are usually held at the AA level longer because of the competition. Lower level sports is always cyclical too, they may be good for a few seasons, but then those players get moved up and the team usually goes bad for a few years while the new crop.of talent gets better, then they get called up. Bisons fans should feel lucky, the Jay's management is doing everything they can to leave 'The Saviour/Great One' down in AAA as long as possible........

I have watched the whole series so far, it's not bad -
It's sad, but the WWE story line seem to be way better then Impact. While flipping through the channels I stopped o it for 5 minutes and caught some poorly scripted and filmed Sacrifice Zombie/Vampire scene where they supposedly killed a female wrestler. No wrestling, just poorly acted (worse then a 'B rated' movie) skit

Dont thinking would matter, his accountants would find a way...... As for the experts, I'm sure the US has the best restoration experts for buildings built over 850 years ago......... -
I wouldnt be pissed if the Bill's get no prime time games, they rarely look good or the game go well for them Yeah, but it's the Jets, NYs 'other' team.....

They bookend their season with the Bill's while getting 3 Prime time games (2 mondays and 1 thursday)?

Who's everyone's baseball team?
apuszczalowski replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I dont recall him having trouble in other fields making catches, but it's ok, they have Socrates Brito breaking records by starting his Jay's career 0 for 21, along with Hansen to replace him in the lineup and having anyone with a glove play outfield........ -

Most of the people I saw wanting him gone were because he was older and they have to sell off anyone older then 25 for the rebuild, and they thought he was overrated and not a good hitter. His defensive plays were because apparently he was a poor fielder and had to make diving catches cause of bad judgement on the ball and being late to get there on time. This is the same fan base that also wants to run out Stroman next because they think he has a cancerous attitude and is cocky...... -

I was reading something earlier about the stain glass, they said that it may not be possible to reproduce because alot of the techniques and methods for how it was made are lost because no one has done it those ways for centuries. They can make similar ones I guess, but it wont be the same -

Doubtful, their wealth is tied up in real estate (churches) and artifacts (and legal settlements), they arent sitting on a ton of cash. Similar to most million/billionaires, their wealth is in property and what they own, very few are sitting on Scrooge McDuck vaults of cash. Considering they had to pass collection plates to pay for the renovation work that was going on, I doubt they have the money ready to rebuild. This is a good way for the Million/Billionaires to pay their way to a better after life to make up for any shady business/investing to make their money.... Baguettes and wine ain't cheap........ I did hear that in France, theres an even bigger division between church and state and the government is not allowed to pay for anything associated with religion.... -

I would think the bulk of the costs would come in restoration of anything original that is damaged that can be saved. The structural repairs also will depend on how they decide to proceed with it. They are no longer repairing/restoring the existing roof now, so they can weigh options on whether to rebuild using some modern methods and materials or what they can do to replicate what was there. It sounding like it's almost impossible to recreate the original due to there no longer being able to get lumber like what was used. Structural framing that isint visible can always be redone in metal or engineered lumber for the spans. From now on people know that certain parts arent original anymore, so it's not like they need to try an fool people in thinking it's original. The statues, stain glass, fixtures, furniture and finishes will be the stuff that they will want to rebuild and replicate to what was existing before and that's usually the most expensive things. Like in all construction, it's the finishes that drive up the costs of the build. -

Did areas of the building have fire suppression? They may have only had it in certain areas where people would be normally. Most of the time they arent going to spend the money to install it in areas that are low risk for a fire starting, like an attic space unless people use it alot or it contains equipment that can start a fire. The roof was lead, with wood framing supporting it, and I'm assuming plaster to the underside. From the looks of a few photos I saw of it before, that attic area didnt contain anything but some walkways that dont appear to be frequently used. A construction/renovation accident is probably the only way that area would/could catch fire. -
Star Wars - The Rise Of Skywalker

So basically the third movie would have the good guy (girl) and the bad guy roles switch? Rey would become bad and Ren becomes good? I could see Ren becoming good in this one, defeating the dark and joining the force, which would explain the title since he is technically a Skywalker on his moms side. Or Rey is found to be Rens sister and another child of Han/Leia and she takes on the Luke role with the force
