  1. Steve married Marcy who already lived next door with Jefferson before he left. I can't remember how they worked it in though. I believe Jefferson ran off on Marcy somewhere and I don't remember how Steve was brought in as her new husband. As for the actor who played Steve, he was always considered the kiss of death for shows or the sign of jumping the shark because he usually was hired to play someone late in a shows run to replace a main character. He was brought in to Happy Days to replace Richie I believe in the last season or 2? He replaced Jefferson on MWC (although he was on that show for a while) and he was brought into a few other shows near the end of their run. There was a show on ABC with Kelly Ripa where he was on from the start though, I don't know of any other where he was on from the start.
  2. He does the one commercial here for a Toronto Lawyer (Sokoloff?), I think they may be defence or injury though....
  3. C'mon, for a billion you wouldn't go after Bezos himself?
  4. I think I still have almost every issue from the early 90s to almost 2000 in a tote in my basement. I remember my first issue, it was from 1992 I believe and the Iraq War, had Schwartzkoff on it I think? Bought it while I was at a store with my cousin in the summer then started collected every issue until late 90s
  5. Probably because most of the houses in Toronto are older and like my house have radiators instead of forced air furnaces. I grew up not having it and then in my first house I did and found it nice. Now my current house has rads so I'm back to window units for A/C It can also be that many who live in the City of Toronto are hipsters who don't want to ruin the environment with A/C units, or can barely afford their rent and bills as is without the increased hydro charge of A/C
  6. I just read an article about this, that may have been the guys company name, but he has had some failed businesses before and this is his current venture. He bought the field cheap at auction from the county and had to have the rolls removed quickly to a warehouse he rented, then had a couple guys working with him to cut it up and sell, mostly in small patches but some custom sizes were also done for people. Said he will auction a few off for charity, there some people mad because the county was going to donate the money from the auction to a charity to help kids with disabilities to play sports and they said the county didnt properly advertise the auction so few actually knew about it and that's why he got it so cheap. It just went up on their public auction website that sells government surplus. I thought I read he spent more on trucking and the warehouse then the actual field itself. He also wants to continue to do this buy buying other sports teams fields, some of his previous businesses were selling seats and other parts of old stadiums and arenas that were being torn down (they mentioned the Aud).
  7. I heard the red also doesn't show up well in HD for the game broadcasts. Technically yes, but according to the manufacturers, the turf is only supposed to last between 8-11 years I believe. You have to figure these fields take a lot of wear and tear, and with the harsher weather conditions here they would wear a little quicker and need to be replaced sooner. You don't install carpeting in your house (if you actually have carpets) and expect it to last a lifetime, it needs to be replaced after a while.
  8. And next week there will be a study and book debunking this as false and saying the opposite. Just like all the diet fads that come and go. There's a diet right now that says it's healthy and safe to eat Bacon, Steak, butter, coconut oil, and heavy cream as long as you don't eat any carbs or sugar! The problem today is that there are so many "experts" out there on the internet to tell you a certain way is fine because they are a "doctor". Excercise (being active) and food moderation are the key cutting out alot of the junk and processed stuff. Problem is this requires will power and effort and isn't as easy as just saying don't eat 'x' or 'y' and the pounds will just fall off. People will always try and tell you their way is the best and works, and they are healthy even if they really aren't. Skinny doesn't equal healthy, just like fat doesn't always mean unhealthy. In this case, he was always big in his playing days then ballooned really big to almost 500lbs they said after his career was done. The very large fluctuations in weight gain and loss may have also taken a toll on him.
  9. Considering weather has not been a home field factor for this team in a long time, and for financial reasons, an indoor facility will be the value for whomever pays for it, indoor will most likely be what gets built. An outdoor stadium might be what some fans want, it's not what the people shelling out the real money there will want
  10. This isn't a problem (aside from how long it would take to let everyone speak) and the same qualifications to get in apply. It won't devalue the honor just because they choose more then normal this year if the ones they chose are deserving of getting in. And outside of maybe the egotistical divas, media and some fans, no one cares what year a player made it into the hall as long as they are in it. The honor is no less of an honor because it took one player 3 years and another got in on their first try.
  11. I have no idea where the dog was, it wasn't injured and didn't appear shaken up so I doubt it was on his lap or window as the airbags would have done some damage.
  12. Over a week ago I was driving to work in my new truck, it was wet and rainy, and I couldn't see the car behind me for half my drive to work. All I could see was a blue line over the top of my tailgate they were on me so close. It was kind of a rural type highway with only one lane on either side. Then today, I was a passenger in a van with someone I work for doing drafting work on the side, we were heading to a house to get some measurements for a quick plan and about a couple blocks from the place we went through a busy intersection and got tboned by a small pickup who ran the red light. He was an older guy who definitely wasn't paying attention because it's a road with 2 lanes on both sides and a turning lane with cars sitting at the light. The guy got out of his truck and even admitted fault, he had a small dog in it with him.
  13. Kind of hard to do when they are judging rosters before they have even played a game yet. The article is supposed to be judging the teams off of their rosters.
  14. I found around here, a few years ago they changed up their menu and went more 'high end' with their sandwiches. I always loved the Philly Swiss ones but now they changed them up. Love that they finally made a carrot worth eating!
  15. She was diagnosed a while ago with cancer and I thought it was a year or two ago that they said they couldn't do anything about it after it spread and she didn't have long
  16. $74.9k and I get to paint the new mural.....
  17. I didn't watch it, but I heard they were going to be doing something about commercials because Vince didn't want matches going on during commercial breaks. Did they actually stop matches so they can go to commercial if they want a match to go on for a while? That seems dumb to me, either design the match so it lasts between breaks, or schedule the commercials to be when a match finishes. They do it for other sporting events, you never see a baseball game take a commercial break during an inning, they come after it's over or during a break like a pitching change. Why couldn't they do the same?
  18. He didn't want to wear the harness for the walk over the falls but the networks made him or they wouldn't televise it. He fought it but they told him since it's live they couldn't risk having him plummet to his death on live tv. The insurance companies covering the entire event also wouldn't cover it unless he had the harness, without insurance covering the entire event, no place is going to allow him to do the event in their location. All of his televised ones he has to wear a harness. It's nice to see that it's ok to wish someone die or get seriously injured doing a daredevil stunt is cool, but cheering for an injury at a sporting event makes you a vile disgusting piece of trash......
  19. Yup, lol, a highschool in San Fransisco And they said almost no student was against the murals, most didn't care, it was an outside group that found it offensive and had a couple of students join them in making a fuss over it. I think some of this blame put on the youth/students today over things is misplaced. Most of the time the kids aren't actually offended or care, it's the parents who make a big deal and take offence but prop it up to make it look like it's the kids. And because of 'outrage' of stupid things like this, the kids aren't viewed positively when they don't take a stand against more serious issues. $300-800k to cover up a 13 panel mural? Even if they want to preserve it hidden behind something so it's never seen again, that still sounds a little high. I will do it for $299k and I haven't even seen the size or details of what needs to be covered.....
  20. Considering she had a baby with someone else recently, she probably doesn't care if he is getting some on the side too. She may actually prefer it, she gets to be the 'girlfriend' doing what she wants on the side, while not having to do much of the 'dirty work' with him but gets to reap the rewards of a dating a rich guy......
  21. Most places and the networks broadcasting these walks won't let them do it without the safety wire. Since it's live they don't want to show them going splat...... I didn't even know he was doing another walk, kinda ho-hum events now. The falls was a big deal cause it was one of the first big ones. The canyon walk was also big, now it just seems like no big deal, probably why they added his sister to this one to make it a little different.
  22. That should be changed to "there is a guy giving away 50% of his stuff to her..."
  23. So was he sitting in coach or first class? Who cares what anyone paid for the ticket, it's $1500 to switch seats. If they paid $1500 for the ticket they are now flying for free (less they are making money, more then they are getting a discounted flight). Even better if it's for business and the company paid for it or it is being expensed. I would switch seats with someone if they offered me $1500 to do so, unless there was more than a $1,500 difference between what I paid for my seat and where I would have to go sit. As for the 'back of the bus' comment, it might be a touchy comment to make when referring to someone of colour.......
  24. They have the ownership waiting, and plans/location for a new stadium are being worked out, MLB have pretty much said they are next in line for a franchise if those things are there. It's similar to the NHL and Quebec getting the Nordiques back. There's ownership waiting and an arena built, they are just waiting for the NHL to approve a relocation of a team now that they have Vegas and Seattle coming in expansion. After those 2 cities, the next in line would be Quebec This is basically a last ditch effort to get the stadium funding and location for a new stadium in Florida approved, or they will relocate. This sharing idea will only happen for a couple seasons at most to finalize details of the move. It would make more long term sense for Miami and Tampa to Share the Marlins then Tampa and Montreal share the Rays.
  25. Hence the name 'Olympic Stadium' There are baseball fans in Montreal and a demand for their Expos to return. The Jays have been selling out their last 2 exhibition games a year playing in Montreal the last few years and it's packed with Expos fans. If the Rays move there, it would also make them division Rivals with the Jays in the AL East
