Is this a Rex Ryan type move to start him against one of his old teams, like how Rex made players captains against their ex's? You would have to think Flores was brought on board because he was willing to go along with the Dolphins tanking, unless he assumed they would atleast be given a chance to win games and not be in the running to be one of the worst teams in history....

A very Brady renovation - classic TV re-creations
apuszczalowski replied to RochesterRob's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I think alot of people are missing the point, most of these suggestions would be extremely easy to just recreate these sets because they were just sets on a sound stage and not a real location. There's no challenge to it and could easily be done, and that set might even be in storage somewhere or in a dumpster behind a theatre like Merv Griffins set. The point to this was recreating a set in an actual location it was supposed to be based in. The Brady house was a real house, but the inside that you saw on tv was a set that was not based on that houses real interior. The full House set, Monks cafe from Seinfeld, those are possible cause there's an actual building somewhere that the tv show set was supposed to be based off of. -

When I was in Chicago we stayed out of the city up by the airport and had bus/train passes to get around. We made our way to see a white sox game after being told it was safe as long as we got off the train, went to the game, then got back on and left. The guy driving our shuttle from the hotel said just don't go wondering off away from the stadium. Detroit I have also been told is the same, around the venue's is fine, just don't go wondering off to far away from them and your fine. -

I found that weird about the City too I went a few years ago, drove up Sunday morning for an Indians game, stayed overnight downtown, then went to R&R HOF the next day before driving home. It was weird cause there didn't seem to be anything downtown and nothing opened the next day til 10-11 am. We walked around a mall located inside some old buildings and nothing was open til almost lunch -
They also got lucky they had to face St Louis in the NL finals whom many believe shouldn't have been in the playoffs..... Only team left in MLB without a pennant is Seattle....
-
The goalie he picked up had issues but then went on to be up for awards in his first season out of Buffalo, and the drink Canadian was a big part of St Louis getting their first cup.... He may have spent alot of resources, but he picked talent that for some reason just didn't work in Buffalo. With ROR it was because of all the losing that the team wanted to get the top pick that caused him to want out.

Eichel is good, but he hasn't done anything in the league that would make teams purposefully through away a season to get him. He was even the 2nd choice for the guy who drafted him. Has he lead the league in any category so far in his career? He isn't a Crosby, or Malkin, or Ovechkin and may not reach the level where he leads the league in a category. Since he was drafted there have been multiple GMs and coaches brought in to try and make this team better. If you plan on throwing away seasons for better draft positions, you better be getting someone who is going to lead the league and carry a team. If the tank wasn't a failure, GMTM would still be here in charge......
-
Of course he has to be that way now, after being on the other side of it as one of BBs lackies he has to realise that Karma can be real and can't be the one to spill the secrets on the league.....
-
In order to say that throwing away seasons to be extremely bad in order to get the top pick to obtain the player I would say that that player better be the biggest reason why they are winning. The time has passed in order to call the tank as successful or worth it. It failed and took many years to fix the mess....
-
How many years later? I think they are both on their 3rd coach and 2nd GM too. And is the success their tes are having now solely based on those players presence? I wouldnt go around celebrating the tank as being successful because eventually after many years and regime changes, the teams are starting to turn around.....

It's funny, if a comedian comes out and doesnt do anything new it's considered bad, if a band comes out and plays mostly new stuff it's usually bad and the audience want them to play the old stuff.... I guess there are some comedians who have to do "the Hits or what they are known for" when they perform bit even then, people still want that same bit performed with newer material.

They really should get rid of the 'Rock & Roll' part and replace it with just Music. Whitney Houston rock and roll? -

I do remember seeing something about Seinfeld and Jerry saying that they used a city street set that was constructed by one of the studios for the city, but I can't remember if they city was built as a replica of real NYC Buildings. -

I thought the point of the question of which one should be next was by doing what they did with this one and recreate the set in the actual house they used for the exterior shots on the show. Most sitcoms had an existing house that had shots taken of just the exterior that would be used as the 'house' with the interior shots being done on a sound stage. Most of the suggestions so far would be much of a challenge cause it would just involve rebuilding an old set. The challenge with this one was trying to recreate the set inside in existing structure. I guess the happy days diner could be done cause they did use exterior shots of a diner, but did that place actually exist in real life or was it built for the set? And is it still around today? Shows like Seinfeld and Friends had the cafes they would gather at and had exterior shots of, but they were parts of a large city set that the studio had built. Full House was similar to Brady Bunch and had used an existing house in SF as the exterior, and one of the producers had bought it with the intentions to do it but found it wouldn't be possible. -

Little known/unused rule If you fair catch a kick, you have the option to go for a Free Kick where you line up for a field goal like you would a kickoff where the defense is 10 yards back and the kicker gets a running start to hit it off a tee. Atleast that's what I read yesterday about it. -
Rumors are the Redskins are wanting to trade for him I think the next coach gone is Quinn in ATL or Lynn in LA, both of those teams are looking bad and underachieving

I have a bunch of jerseys Kelly and Thomas that are probably knock offs, had Reed put on a blank jersey I bought when I was much younger. Whitner and Lynch (at the time I got them cause they were the Bills puck that year) Got a Bledsoe that was an iron on as a gift. Also have a Mario Williams Bills jersey I also have a Milloy shirt that's made similar to a jersey with the same material. I have other teams jerseys also I have a McCoy Eagles and Mario Williams Texans jersey I have a Fitzgerald Cards and a Peppers Bears jersey too Many of them I bought cheap and some knock offs I have no issues with anyone wearing a jersey of someone who played on the team (OJ may be stretching it a bit cause mostly likely they bought it after the trial....). I think it's sadder that people care or judge someone for wearing a jersey and their choice.

I saw a little bit of it. It was interesting that they could recreate it cause many times the exterior they used couldnt match the interior. For the show they also had Discovery channels 'Fast and Loud' (Gas Monkey Garage from Dallas Texas) build Greg Brady a new Brady Bunch Station Wagon that they had on the show too. Apparently they did an unveiling and tour of it too. Rob Zombies Guitarist John 5 is a fan of the show and was personally invited by Cindy Brady to attend with her. HGTV bought the house IIRC and got the idea for the show after beating out a Backstreet Boy or Nsync member who tried to buy it. I thought if they wanted to do it again they would do the Full House house after the producer from the show bought it. Apparently he had plans to do it but found it wouldnt be possible and instead planned to refinish and flip it because the neighbors were also annoyed by the traffic and people constantly stopping to check it out.
