Why, are those teams trading for Eli Manning? This is always said, yet unless its against Eli, they come away with the trophy......... -

As I mentioned earlier, they made some big Trades & FA Spending this offseason after taking one of the top QBs last year in the draft. That makes you a favorite to be a turn around team and the league is banking on it happening -

On a serious note, I could buy that as an excuse if it was last week........ -

Maybe he is working on his new career as an artist? He would probably just pass off Mannings paintings as his own because he brought Manning his art supplies...... -

Did I miss a QB drafted last year before Mayfield and Darnold? -

Atleast you can argue that the Steelers deserve some national attention because they have been a good team and division winners The Jets and Browns only got the spots because of their big splash Trades/FA spending and drafting the top 2 QBs last year. -
Rational Thoughts Day After Dolphins Game
apuszczalowski replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But they had 2 weeks to prepare for the Dolphins, that's called a Fact. If coach sent them home to rest or do whatever that doesn't change the fact they still had 2 weeks to be prepared for this game. Of they chose to take the time off and not prepare, that's their fault and the results in the game showed it. Sending them home to rest can still be considered part of preparation for the game by giving them additional time to heal and rest. They didn't have a game to prepare for last week so once the Titans game was over, they were able to prepare for Miami, which was 2 weeks away. -
Is this the easiest schedule the Bills ever had?

I think the league itself has been pretty bad this year with alot of .500 or lower teams. -
Rational Thoughts Day After Dolphins Game

Yeah, having to play in a flood kept that score to just FGs. It was one of the quickest games played and the stats were horrible cause no one could do anything in that weather, it would be like trying to use the Bills Blizzard games against the Browns and Colts as barometers to where they were at competitively.... The Bills played in nice weather against a bad team and had 2 weeks to prepare for them. -
Rational Thoughts Day After Dolphins Game

When looking at what the league and the QB position has become, you expect more because the bar has been raised for what QBs are doing. The Bills need the Defence to be great in order to have a chance to win a game. If they are not, there's no way they will win a shoot out game against the better teams. This was the game we should have seen that and we didn't, we saw more of the same and try to justify it by trying to make the Dolphins out to be a better team then they are and more motivated. Coming off a bye, they had 2 weeks to prepare for them and they had to squeak out a win. The bar seems to keep getting lowered for Allen around here to try and speed up his greatness. It's a great game cause he didn't throw an INT. He had a 4th quarter comeback (because the offence couldn't do anything in the previous 3 quarters). All that matter is they won the game. Some of this stuff was being said when Taylor was here and everyone would bash those who said it because he wasn't putting up better stats. -
In today's NFL, even losing QBs can end up with 300 yards and still have a bad game. Yesterday's game was a bit concerning for him and the offence as it should have been a game where they put up career stats, coming off a bye week against the league's worst team, yet they put up their usual stats and needed to come back to win

I think it's a race between Quinn and Lynn Most of the others being mentioned are in their first years so I don't think that happens. Outside of Kitchens, none of them had taken over solid teams so they aren't really underachieving yet. Tomlin may end up traded or resigning (mutual parting at the end of the year) to take the Redskins job (apparently they really want him). But Tomlin may get the benefit of the excuse that his QB went down early. A surprising candidate could be Pederson if the Eagles continue to drop. I don't see Garrett getting canned unless they miss the playoffs
-
I don't see them winning tonight, bit info think the game ends up close. I think they are too far behind in the standings to be a playoff threat, they are more likely to be a spoiler the rest of the way and end up 'in the Hunt' until the end of the year where they are still mathematically alive with some crazy scenarios needed to get in.

SNF: Eagles at Cowboys (-3) 8:20 NBC
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then what would that make the Dolphins? The Eagles were tied with the Cowboys at 3-3 and 'are not good'. The Dolphins almost won and are winless while being looked at as one of the worst teams in the NFL, but they were super duper motivated...... -
McDermott in early COY discussion
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the winning is more of a team thing. Without a top 5 defence, Allen isn't going to have as many wins as he has now. The Bills aren't winning games on the strength of their offence. Yesterday they struggled against a team that the offence should have been having career games against. Allen is still a work in progress along with this whole offence. He shouldn't be written off as a starter yet, but he also hasn't reached the point of being a top tier guy in the league yet. -
McDermott in early COY discussion

Reich is winning with a backup QB who was thrown into the job at the last minute when their starter surprisingly retired just before the season started, most had this season as a write off for the Colts. Payton's team is undefeated with a backup QB who hasn't played much in the last few years after an injury that could have been life threatening, after having one of the best QBs in the league get injured. Shanahan has an undefeated team who's defence is playing elite. McDermott is squeaking out wins against the league's bottom teams with the 2nd easiest schedule so far. -
Postgame: Dolphins 21 at Bills 31

Which seems to happen all the time against the Bills. It's funny how everyone is now trying to justify the game by talking up Miami like they are a better team then they have been to make it seem like it should have been close. -

Ugly wins against the better teams are great, wins are wins, ugly wins against the flaming dumpsters of the league are concerning and something to be worried about. -

Maybe it's the glare from all those Lombardi's in the Bills trophy case that's blinding and distracting everyone?
