I can accept 9-7 and no playoffs ...
apuszczalowski replied to SoCal Pat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
because a 9-7, or a 10-6 record is still an improvement, and doesn't guarantee a playoff spot -

Offical 2008 Bills Schedule Thread

They said it would be a game after the Grey Cup is played in November, so it is assumed as a Dec game, and that would make it Miami or NE (or possibly SF) -

Why is that such a problem? They have been having trouble selling out the Fins game at home for the last couple seasons -
NFL owners: Cap not absolutely necessary
apuszczalowski replied to buffalobillsfootball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And my point is, why would the owners agree to that? The Owners of the clubs with money want to be able to spend, and if a young player walks, they will just go out and buy a better replacement, or pay more for the player to stay. Anbd why would the players agree to that? That would mean they would all demand a huge rookie salary because it will be their only big one if by the time they are at the end of it they are on the downside of their career. If you really want to make teams focus more on drafting and building their team that way, the cap should only apply to players acquired through FA and trade. It would be uncapped for signing and re-signing players that were drafted by the team (or signed to their first NFL contract by them, and cap only the offseason FA spending each year. -

Why would the owners care about keeping their draft picks around? the only ones that would are the teams that want a cap because it will be the only way they could stand a chance. The bigger teams would just pay more, or go find someone else -
Isn't Ralph cheap and doesn't pay much for coaches? If thats true then i think he is working to the level of his pay, Del Rio was given an extension of 5 years at $20+ mil, with a 1-2 playoff record over that time. As for DJ the golfer, he is pretty good, a buddy of mine worked at a Golf course in the falls and golfed with him one afternoon his first year here. DJ asked to join him because they were both going to golf alone.

Taking WRs too early is a gamble.
apuszczalowski replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
back in the TD days, everyone complained because he took the skill players high over the trenches, leaving them depleted, and now it is almost the opposite, they need to upgrade the WR position. -

apuszczalowski replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we all do, but that still doesn't mean the Bills shouldn't be looking for the best available WR to compliment him right now, because he could become better then him in a couple years and take his #1 spot. Sure, its easy to say they only need a #2 and not a Jerry Rice, but finding a Jerry Rice to play #2 right now, and possibly become a better #1 then what they have right now is not a bad thing. Who here would complain because the Bills found a WR that eventually pushes Lee to a #2 spot? -
As for the initial post. - Bledsoe was brought inas a stop gap, someone to take over the spot for now, so they could win now. JP was drafted because Bledsoe was not the long term answer, not because they had already given up on Drew. They needed a QB of the future, Bledsoe was only brought in to be the QB of the present, until their QB of the future was ready, he was a place holder - As for the RB spot, McGahee was not brought in to replace Henry (who until Willis was brought in was a tough player, but had problems with holding onto the ball), he was brought in to form a tandem, and to give the Bills a power running game. He was a #1 overall pick until his injury, and if it went according to plan, the Bills would have had one of the best running games, something most say they need to play in the weather in Buffalo. The problem was, Henry took it as an insult that they would bring in someone else and said it would have to be one or the other. Henry lost, and Willis afterwards didn't give it 100% every game and disapointed. What they wanted to do back then is what most want them to do now with Lynch/Jackson. - They aren't trying to replace Evans, they need someone to compliment him and take away the pressure on him as a #2. But you don't go into a draft only hoping to find someone to play a smaller role. If they can get someone that can fill that role as a #2 and then eventually maybe take over the #1 spot, all the better

The QB spot is not solidified just yet, its not a need, but its far from solidified just yet. I wouldn't say the DT position is solidifed either, just yet, we don't know what Stroud we are getting, and if he will be the same player he was before his injury, and if McCargo is the real deal. Its not a need to upgrade right now, but I wouldn't call it solidified just yet Most of the positions are not big concerns right now, but there aren't many spots that could be called solidified just yet. Unless you mean by calling them solidified in that the Bills have this years starters already and the roster will not change in those spots to start the year, then yes I would agree, but I would use the term solidified
-
Saying a position is solidified means that they have someone proven at the position (Edwards is not proven yet), and that the position does not require a change No one was taking a shot at Edwards, they were just saying its a little early to call the spot "solidified". Edwards has not proven he will be a top level Qb that will be behind centre for years. Thats not saying the Bills should run out and improve the position right now, because the QB position is still a question mark right now. It may become solidified if Edwards does become a top level player, but right now he is just a second year player with potential and flashing signs of being good.

Jeremy White's unsubstantiated rumor

that could be because they have a deal with the NFL that they get to play on every thanksgiving, at home, this game would be in addition to the regular Cowboys and Lions game -

What would they have to sell? Most are already done with him in their minds, and they have already awarded Saint Trent the starting job -

I would not be surprised at all to see GB make a move for him around the draft. They won't draft someone because they essentially have that already in Rodgers, except he has atleast some NFL experience. I could see them bringing in someone like JP to compete with Rodgers for the #1 spot, with the loser becoming the #2 so they would atleast have a veteran QB with experience on the roster. GB will need a QB, unless Brett decides that he wants to "unretire" (some rumors have been floating around that he said he would come back if they needed him), and they would want someone with more experience then Rodgers and Nall. JP is someone who could be good enough to take the #1 spot, or atleast keep it warm for a while until they have full confidence in Rodgers to start -
They can't, #11 is too high to draft a WR, it would break all the rules and ESPN would call them stupid if they did.

If they were really trying to be a convincing con they do, but I doubt they would be so quick to sell it for as cheap as she did -

Who says she really is a bag lady. I believe it was a couple years ago I saw a news report because people were furious that one of the areas biggest "panhandler/baglady" wasn't even poor or crazy. She would walk around the City looking and acting crazy collecting change and money from people, then go back to her condo with leather couches and a big screen TV -

Have you never heard that joke before, how a team is moving to Toronto so they can finally figure out what a real Hockey team looks like? I gave them a call yesterday to figure out why Canada was not listed, and apparently they have a seperate site, and you have to click the little Canadian Flag at the top to get to it. its the same site, but everything is in CAD$, and they add Canada to the Country list. -

I like how he brought the cooler with his own food I just wonder which characters they are going to get the spinoff from. I read that after the superbowl this year, NBC will start airing a "spinoff" show of the office with some of the characters, but they won't say who just yet
