  1. http://blog.footballguys.com/2008/02/27/20...w-quarterbacks/ I don't know how updated this list is, but there are still some "Backup Caliber" QB's on that list. The Bills are not going to get a pro Bowl caliber QB to play Backup to a second year player. And its a nice option to have a backup who can be just as good as the starter, but it won't happen. Off that list, someone like - Culpepper - Gray - Hasselback - Rattay - Carr - Holcomb - Leftwich could all be servicable guys, players who chances are won't beat out the starter, but can be servicable if Trent goes down. if you can get something for JP now, do it, before he walks for nothing
  2. I don't know if the moves this offseason have really strayed from what the original plan was. It wasn't that the Bills wanted just smaller DT's, it was that the system didn't call for huge DT's who basically just created a wall jamming up the middle, the system calls for quicker guys who can penetrate, something not many big DT's can do effectively. And I think IIRC, Stroud might be bigger then what they currently have, but he is a player who is quick and can penetrate, with size As for CB, the system doesn't require top CB's, but it doesn't mean you should have one, just that to run it effectively, a top CB is not required. Remember that they did try to keep Nate around, but they knew that he was looking at a huge payday and did not think that tying up that kind of money under the cap on a CB was a smart move. They did draft Youbouty who was supposed to be a good CB, and really hasn't developed much.
  3. In your opinion though, the Bills may not see it that way, they may have only 1-2 WR's that they feel are heads and shoulders above the rest for what they need a WR for. otherwise I agree with everything else.
  4. So you are saying that no WR in this draft can step in and by an upgrade over Reed and Parrish, or over Price? Wouldn't it be best for them to atleast get the best WR they can? They don't need the guy to step in and take over the #1 spot, they need someone who could eventually take over the #1 spot in the future, but will be an upgrade immediatly at the #2 spot and I don't see how any of the top #3 WR's in the draft wouldn't be able to atleast do that
  5. Why would it be a disaster to take a CB, but not a DE? Is the DE going to catch passes from Trent? Upgrading at either is fine, if the team truely feels that they can get the best player to upgrade the offence the 2nd or move up and get them. So if they take a CB or DE in round 1, and then trade back up to get the best WR on their board, how is that a problem? If the team still gets their guy at WR, whats the problem when they pick them up?
  6. Exactly. And a reach isn't taking a guy a couple of picks ahead of where they say he should be drafted. A reach would be taking a guy who is projected in the 2nd-3rd round early in the first. Taking a guy who is the top player at their position 5-10 picks before the "experts" say he should go, is not a reach.
  7. ?????????????? That makes absolutly no sense. So because the Bills aren't top 10 in every category, they should not draft players that would fill a need? Isn't that what you are supposed to do in the draft? Take players that you feel are the best players for your team, because you need better players at that position? Good teams are the ones that have the luxury to pick whomever they want. Good teams have less needs then bad teams. If they don't draft for need, how are they going to fill those spots? I don't disagree with the rest of what you are saying though. The Bills do have a bunch of needs that they have to address or else they will end up just spinning their wheels. WR and TE are the biggest needs hands down. They are not going to win games this year (no matter how good the defence is) without getting some more playmakers in the offence. Next on the list I would say is CB, and FB, then third would be depth on the d-line, o-line, LB spots. 4th would be depth at DB, and the last thing they should be looking for is RB, QB, and kickers. Using the early rounds on the first and second needs is a must, cause they need something to fill those spots this year, and looking at whats left in FA, you probably won't find anything better there then what you will get in the draft. The only way that you should reach down and get someone who is in the third level of needs early is if that player is a can't miss, future star, who will be able to step in and be an instant upgrade at that spot, and that the players in the need position above them really are not worth being taken in that round (like taking say one of the top 5 DE's (who may have slipped) in the 2nd, over say a FB who might not be worth taking til the late 3rd/early 4th. One of the biggest keys to good drafting is getting the best players that will have the most impact on your team as soon as possible in the early rounds, and get depth guys or hidden gems/projects later on. Is taking a D-linemen or an o-linemen who will be depth on the team until late in the season, or in a couple years be a better choice then a WR who will be able to step in and start, and make an impact from day one on this team? I know it isn't popular around here to say that they shouldn't draft any o-line/d-line players this year, but the current lines are good enough for now, that putting off any picks for them til later in the draft is not as devistating as some want to think. The o-line was upgraded last year with Dockery and Walker, and Butler will be going into his second full year. They were not a negative last season, and at this point, anyone they take would either be depth, or have to be an instant upgrade to justify passing on someone at a need spot. The D-line has been upgraded this offseason already by trading for Stroud and bringing in Johnson. With McCargo developing, and Williams coming along, the DT spot should be much improved, and that should help the DE's out alot. Schobel is a 2 time Pro Bowler (and the last one he was voted on by players and coaches, and not through the "popularity contest" fan voting), and Kelsay and Denney might not be All Pro's, but they are good DE's. Just one year ago, they were one of the better teams when it came to sacks from the DE's.
  8. that is probably the plan Although it seems from what was said in the first part that they would stay put at #11 if he is there, and trade back with KC if he is taken before
  9. Although its always a plus to have the best players at every position no matter what system you run, what he is saying is that its not necessary because the Bills are ready have 2 good CB's that will be good enough with an improved Pass Rush
  10. So your idea to make the LB core better, is to draft a player who has absolutly no Pro experience and only potential to be better then any of the guys currently on the roster? We as fans may over value some of our own players, but I think we overvalue other players (and draft picks more)
  11. I don't know if that would work using the "Cash to Cap" spending philosophy
  12. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say she wasn't the one that placed the order?
  13. Never owned an original NES system, I had an Atari and the Sega Systems (still have them in the basement) and I agree, the greatest game of alltime for any system was NBA Jam, although my other favorite for the Sega Genisis was Mutant League Football and Mutant League Hockey I did play alot of NES and I have to say my favorites were the Zelda games, Contra, and my personal favorite was Maniac Mansion, for some reason I just loved that game.
  14. I just want to see him get to step onto the field where his Dad's L.O.D. spkied shoulder pads, he might have Hawks shoulder pads too for Poz or Mitchell to wear
  15. I don't care at all about the draft Theres too much worry from people that have absolutly no input, training, or decision into what teams pick. its funny reading all the Mock Drafts, and the arguements over who the team will pick, and how they know exactly what the team will do and why its the only option because this is the way they see it. I think my favorite part of draft day is coming here right after the Bills pick and watch the board implode and then the resulting destruction and carnage because the Bills didn't draft their guy (so they will be the worst team, and are inept and clueless), or that the guy they took is such a reach and they could have easily traded back with Team 'X' and still got their guy and some extra picks (or if the guy the Bills coveted and evaluated as their guy was taken after they traded back its fine cause they could have always taken another guy)
  16. How can she not win it? She's pretty much a ringer. She's a dancer who dances on ice, so she is now pretty much doing what she did for a living without skates.
  17. Would he be allowed to wear his dads old shoulder pads?
  18. Have you seen the size of him though? Move him to DT or to the o-line and have him play Centre, half the field would be covered with just linemen
  19. I don't care about Kipper, I just love watching this board crash and everyone screaming and crying about how the Bills are inept and they are done with them because it was the wrong move, a reach, or they could have easily traded back and got exactly what they wanted (and if not, who cares they could have just taken someone else)
  20. And if NE does come a callin', you know he will sign for peanuts to play for them
  21. oh, ok, cause reading it, it said that it works out to 45 if you buy 2. I got the impression that you had to buy 2 to get the deal
  22. 1. - 2. Yup they are less then secondary characters that don't matter 3. You are right on that one, when they went to texas on the run when the towns people thought Stewie was possessed, they stayed at her place 4. I believe you are right that its was the Y2K episode, and it was because he gave him the expired coupon. The second time was when Chris needs to change schools and while discussing the school her dad went to, Peter seen the chicken and went after him, the only other episode i remember him in was when Peter goes back in time and is at the country club dance fighting to get louis back before she hooks up with Quagmire, he pumps into the chicken and the chickens buddy tells him not to get mad or worry cause he will probably never see him again.
  23. If you buy 2
  24. pfft, thats so a couple of years ago. Bam Margera did that to his mom April in one of the Jackass movies. He let the gator go in the kitchen and waited for his mom to come home and find it
