Thats what I never understood about these guys. You are making Millions to play a game as your career. One of the things they ask of you though to make those millions is to not commit illegal acts, like doing drugs. they even routinly test you for it. So why risk your career and money doing it? Is doing Coke, or smoking weed really worth losing out on a million dollar a year salary playing a game for a couple months out of the year? You will have your entire life after football to do whatever you want

hmmmm, that may have made it a better movie

Getting Screwed by the Fed. Govt

Still, I would have figured that in a situation like that, they are still responsible, and that they would then have to go after the manufacturer of the electric brake device to recoup their losses, cause you are the innocent one in all of this, why should you be the one suffering with the damaged vehicle? -
Nah, you don't lose the card for Hootie, you might age yourself since they seem to be more popular with the older crowd though (more like an adult contemporary crowd) Now Maroon 5 you would if you are there for the music, and not to pick up the girls that will be depressed that the lead singer passes them over. It could be much worse, you could be listening to the Abba Station on Satellite radio and telling everyone about it. I believe thats automatic suspension of the man card, and immediate sex change for that one

Probably not yet, but you know that once she is old enough to get a tattoo, she will be getting one!

NPPL invades the Ralph

Damn, they work quick, I was just there about a month ago and the skyline looked nothing like that! -
I agree completly on your points about New orleans, they were prepared to move before Katrina anyway (remember the owner needing security to get around the stadium where they played until the Superdome was ready cause he was discussing moving them there permanantly?) I do disagree with your assessment on the Bills and making money. Sure they aren't running the team in the red, but you are kidding yourself if you believe that they make enough money to compete with the other teams in the league, and turn a comparible profit. The problem is that they make enough money to compete every season in the black, but they don't bring in enough money that a buisness person with the kind of money they will need to purchase the team is going to be able to look at it as a good retrun on their investment compared to the rest of the league. The NFL is getting to the point where it is getting so big that it is out pricing itself from the small markets and making it more of a "big boys club" and something where only the wealthier will be able to attend and the average person will need to be happy with the TV/radio coverage, and maybe the occasional live game. AS for your last line, are you seriously calling the Bills in Buffalo a Gravy Train? The key to a Toronto move is the corporate dollar that you can get in Toronto thats missing in Buffalo. Sure there might be less die hard fans at the games, and more suits, but as the way the NFL would look at it, a loss of a few average Joe fans to gain a corporate sponsor is a fair trade off. I really don't think Toronto will have a problem supporting a NFL team if they are successful. The Leafs sell out all the time, and the majority of their lower level is all corporate. The Jays average around the middle in attendance right now, and have not seen the playoffs since the mid 90's, and the Raptors have been selling out pretty good. AS long as the team stays competitive and spends money, the fans will support it.

As much as it sucks, you have to remember that the NFL is a buisness, and like everything in life, its all about the $$$ They will do whatever they can to make more $$$, and yes it may alienate the average Joe hardcore fan, but they aren't the ones with bigger expendable income. Thats great, you have bought season tickets in a moderatly priced section, and pick up a few Beers every game along with a hot dog, some nacho's, and occasionally a Jersey. The guy in the Box has spent close to what you spent for the season, on just one game, as for weither he pays attention in there, or what goes on, who cares, he has paid his tab.

Getting Screwed by the Fed. Govt

What I don't get about the situation is that basically the governement is saying that you are responsible for their trailer brake system being defective, because they are basically saying they are not responsible for it. -
well, seeing as how Cloverfield was basically Blair Witch meets Godzilla................

Can anyone come up with a more appropriate title?

I know, its so confusing Is he no longer going to go shirtless so that he doesn't expose his "girls" (which might I had, he looks like he is in good shape and I doubt his "girls" would be impressive compared to say maybe his wife exposing her "girls") I don't ever remember seeing him topless before -

So what they are telling you if I understand this correctly, is that their truck, hauling a boat, may have had a defective electric brake on the trailer, which malfunctioned and did not allow the trailer brakes to engage, and it cause damage to your vehicle when it tried to swerve away from getting into an accident. So they are saying that since their equipment may have not been working properly, its not their fault but yours? I'd like to see you try that excuse on them sometime and see what they say. If it was their equipment that was faulty, would they be responsible for the damage to your vehicle, and then they would be responsible for trying to maybe recoup the damages from the manufacturer of the trailer brakes if they could prove they malfunctioned due to a faulty unit? -
Because people watched football last year and watched a team even younger then Buffalo, get led by an "over the Hill" Favre deep into the playoffs and almost to the SB. I've been saying Favre should retire for a long time now, and still think he should just to say he stepped out on top. But if he comes back and decides he would want to play in Buffalo, I say get his #4 ready to go and lets get the season started. I don't care how Edwards played last year "for a rookie" or what he might be able to do in the future. Just the veteran leadership he could provide at that position would be an upgrade and could help them intot he playoffs. Even just having Favre there to mentor Trent can't make this a bad thing. But I have a feeling that Favre is the kind of guy thats only going to come back to the Packers, or he won't come back at all, I just don't see him actually wearing another teams jersey.

Something, Something, Something....Dark Side

They said that if the ratings and the demand is there, they would continue to do each one. My favorite has to be at the end where Peter and Chris have the arguement about Robot Chicken already doing it, and then Chris gets pissed and storms out when Peter disses Robot Chicken -
I think thats one of the requirements in Conklin signing a deal now This is old news, they were already saying it was going to happen in Chicago a couple months ago. Personally I think its a bad idea for 2 reasons 1. Its going to get old quickly, the nostalgia is going to wear off and it will lose its uniqueness and appeal if its a regular thing. Personally I like the idea of holding it once every couple years as the All Star game. It will have no effect on games that matter, and since the All Star game is a novelty, why not make that a part of it every couple years? (Every 2? 4?) 2. The venue they chose to use (the first article said they were still deciding which venue to hold it at), Wrigley, is going to be horrible to watch the game. Baseball fields (especially classic style ones) don't give you great views for a sport like Hockey because they are in a 'V' shape. They need somewhere with a more rounded/squared seating area like a football field. Plus if the NHL wanted to maximise the revenue, you can fit more people into Soldier field then into Wrigley Now that this is becoming a yearly thing, I have a feeling its going to get old quick and lose its draw

My girlfriends family is really into tennis. They all play (well she used to until the doctors said she couldn't due to her knee), and they were watching it yesterday. When had to go to look at a new TV for her and on the way to the store she was trying to get it in on the radio (over here if you tune down to one of the lowest frequencies you can sometimes get audio from a station from Toronto) and then had to hurry to the TV section to see it. We ended up getting a Samsung 32" flatscreen LCD

How bad is it that you have a conference for rookies from 4 different teams, and the fighting happens between players from the same team?

I'm confused about Kyle's new deal
apuszczalowski replied to Justice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Except that he isn't a backup, he is a rotational player wh was a starter last season. The DT's in Buffalo are more like a #1a and #1b player since they rotate in and out all the time -
A B- for a secondary thats made up of what, like 90% of players with no more then 2 years experience at their positions in the NFL? I'd say thats pretty good.

Man, I forgot to include the #3 QB in that, JP must really be holding the team down on their rankings
-
The Bucs are only in that spot because they half the leagues QB's on their roster j/k Wheres the outcry here that Buffalo is not near the top. Don't they know we have Edwards? Must be JP as a backup holding them down

NBA's Sonics moving to Oklahoma City
apuszczalowski replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem is, it takes 2 people to make a deal, and whos to say that there have been any serious investors with that kind of money to step in and buy them and keep them in Buffalo. Its easy for us to just say that he should sell the team to someone who will keep them here, but its not that easy in the real world because he ahs to have someone who can and wants to do it. We aren't talking about a couple million dollar venture here, the team could end up costing just slightly under a Billion dollars for just the team
