  1. And how does he plan on coming up with the money? It says the contract he is on is paying him $300 million, and he ahs no debt, so unless he also has about 2-3 times that amount in the bank/invested, I think he might want to focus on the Blues or the Cardinals first, then move up to the Rams
  2. You could do that with the show "Pimp my Ride" too, but it would be a very short 30 second show. You would find almost every vehicle from that show end up on ebay within 6 months of the show airing. That was one fo the worst/dumbest shows I've seen.
  3. I don't even mind them cross promoting, its what they need to do to keep costs down so the show doesn't bankrupt themselves My problem is the idea of building these people who are struggling maintaining an average size home with their family, they decide to build them some huge mansion thats going to cost them alot more in upkeep, instead of building them something reasonable that they can afford to maintain The entire show now is just trying to constantly top itself with the most depressing story to get a home
  4. He can be a great player if he wants to be, and if he had the want to want to be great and get in shape to play a full game, but he doesn't which is surprising seeing as how he rehabbed from an injury most thought was career ending. I guess he did that for the dollar signs and now that he reached that he figures he can cost of his college rep. A tandem with him and henry would have been great things in Buffalo, a team that most people feel needs to run the ball most of the time due to the climate. Too bad neither really were interested in that
  5. Exactly, especially when it comes to the offence, i think he is a little more hands on with the defence because he is a defensive coach, he lets his offensive coaches do their thing with the offence
  6. He also never had the same kind of team that he had that year, which was my point. We don't know what he is capable of when given a Ferrari (or the Fiero that looks like a Ferrari) He is the kind of coach that gets his players to play hard for him all the time, and give 100%, usually resulting in teams over achieving, so giving him alot of quality players, as long as they play atleast up to their potential, should mean good things, even with a conservative offence.
  7. thats not true, the Bills were smart enough to turn him into a few picks, Williams was sadly let go for nothing, leaving the Bills only with the memory of what could have been from a very high pick
  8. Don't they usually have 2 guys stay back for Kick Returns? Why not have them both back there? Make the teams pick their poison, kick it to one of the better return guys in the NFL, or one of the better college return guys. Why do they have to chose only one?
  9. I would say he did pretty good that one year when he was given a decent team to work with and he won coach of the year Its hard to win alot of races, when the only car you are ever given to drive is a beat up old Tempo
  10. Is that why he felt the need to clean up the streets of Buffalo too? I guess it was just in his blood
  11. Now c'mon, the football gods aren't that nice to Bills fans As a Bills fan, this is hilarious to see, considering how all they had to do to go from 1 win to playoff contention was bring in Parcells according to some As for the person who said something about making a deal for Losman to Miami, c'mon, no matter how much you don't like him, thats a very cruel thing to say, and something I would never wish on my very worst enemy
  12. It doesn't say what they talked about or that they made offers to each other. The conversation could have been about how Peters is doing after surgery. His agent may have said that they were looking to re-do his deal, or that he isn't happy with his current deal. No where does it say they spoke numbers, or discussed figures either. The conversation may have also gone like this Parker (after completing Hardy's deal) - "Hey Brandon (or who ever negotiates contracts), so my other client, Peters, has some issues with his contract" Brandon - "Oh, ok, so how is he doing? Is he 100% from his surgery now? Is he in shape and ready for Training Camp in a few days?" Parker - " Yeah, he is doing good after the surgery, but he said he wants to re-negotiate his contract to be paid as the best O-linemen on the team before he reports to camp" Brandon - "Ok, Didn't we just do this 2 years ago? Well he did really step up, and he did get voted to the Pro Bowl. I will tell you what, you tell him that if he reports to camp we will sit down and talk some new numbers" Parker - "No, he says he won't show up unless he has a new deal in place first, he is not happy about being underpaid as a Pro bowler" Brandon - "Tell him to report and we will talk. I gotta go, I have a meeting with McKelvins agent followed by Dinner with Lee Evans and his agent. If he reports we will work out a fair deal" Of course theres always the Obie/TBD chicken little crowd theory about hot the discussion went Parker - "Mr. Brandon Sir, my client, your only Pro Bowler Jason Peters feels that his pay is too low and has been trying to contact you for months to work out a new deal" Brandon - "Pfft, didn't we just give him a new deal? Please, we would rather trade him away and replace him with a DB. The offensive line is by far the easiest position to fill and your client wasn't that good anyways. Who cares about Pro Bowl o-linemen, DB's are where winning teams spend all their money" Parker - "But Sir, all the good teams build from the lines out and have top quality backups at ever spot on the line, plus you spent money last offseason for some o-linemen" Brandon - " we only did that to piss off your client, if we cared about him we would have called him to give him a huge raise already. Screw him, we can put Chambers in there and we are just as good, maybe even better. And besides, Mr. Rodgers told Ralph he doesn't want any more high priced players on the team until he successfully has the team in Toronto. Thats why we never drafted any. Now get out of my office, i have to pretend to care about making the playoffs, but we all know this team doesn't because Ralph lives off the misery of Buffalonians and its all that keeps him alive" Parker - "My client has said he will sit out for a long as it takes to get a new deal, the fans won't be happy to hear that" Brandon - "Screw the fans, we already have sold more seasons tickets then usual this year. Tell your client to get a comfy chair cause he will be sitting for a long time, and we will double his fines for sitting out! Now get out of my office, HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Mr. Hamdan, please escort this man off the property"
  13. It says that they were sick and tired of waiting til June to find out if he would be back or not, and believed him when he said he was done and retiring. They decided its best for there team to move on right now and cut ties before having to go through it again next offseason. If they didn't, Aaron Rdgers could be up for a new contract and played out his entire rookie deal sitting on the bench behind a guy who he was supposed to take the reins from years ago. The guy can still flat out play, and he would be an upgrade to atleast half the teams in the league, but he is only a very short term upgrade right now because no one knows if he/when he will retire again. I've lost some respect of him because of this flip-flop deal with retirement, but I would welcome him with open arms if the Bills made a move for him. Instead it looks like he will be a Buc or a Jet real soon. I pray its the Bucs, cause if not, I think the Jets may have just leaped over Buffalo for the #2 spot in the AFC East
  14. Accordning to the Bills FO, they have not been in contact with Peters or his agent about his demands for a new contract. They have had discussions with his agent recently, but that was because he is Hardy's agent, but they did not get into discussions about Peters. Now this is according to the Bills, and apparently its just lies because people are assuming that his agent obviously has had to have had discussions with the Bills. Now they may have had informal discussions though but nothing formal to work out a new deal. As for the second question, no, it is not the Bills responsibility to call peters except to tell him to get his @ss to TC or he will be fined for every day he misses. The bills I would assume are content to pay Peters what he agreed to in his current contract and are not the ones looking to renegotiate. If Peters wants to renegotiate, it is his responsibility to contact the team and start negotiations. The people that are saying its all the front offices faultt are being blinded in this situation because of who it is. They see it as the bills only Pro Bowler and that if he doesn't play the Bills are doomed to be last years dolphins. Sure there offence takes a big hit if he sits out, but caving right now and giving in to his every demand by coming to him and not him coming to them is no where near the proper way to negotiate. The Bills hold all the cards in this situation, and caving in to him will show weakness. The Bills have to show him that they are willing to take a hit on offence rather then showing the league they are weak and letting players run the team. He is under contrqact to the team right now, and still has more then half the length of his contract left. Comparing him to others besides Schoebel is not accurate. The difference between him and Schoebel is that Schoebel showed up and was with the team when he asked for a new deal, so they worked with him and gave him what he wanted. He didn't take the aggressive route and forced the team to play hardball like Peters has done. The team has never said they won't have discussions and work something out, they just said they want him in camp before they do. Dockery and Walker were also established players who were FA's at the time. The Bills had to overpay a bit to get them. You can't compare it to a FA signing because every year the value goes up in FA for players, so if thats the case, you would be renegotiating with players every year. Butler and Williams were also higher drafted rookies who came in and became starters, who showed up to camp and worked out new deals, like when Peters signed the last contract. None of them tried to play hardball immediatly with Buffalo. As for the comment about him showing up to camp and then the bills tunring around and saying they don't want to re-do his deal, well if that were to happen, then thats when you threaten to sit out. If the bills were to get him into camp and he shows up to do his job, but asks for a raise, and they tell him too bad, then you turn around and threaten to sit until they say they will talk. That is how you negotiate, because atleast then you can say you have done what they have asked, and they lose some cards on the table, and its probably the reason why Schoebel got what he did. No one is saying Peters is wrong in wanting more money, he deserves it, but his way of going about it is all wrong, and the Bills FO can't just cave in to his demands. Look at CIncy, for once they are doing something right when they refused to cave in for Johnson. He threatened a holdout, and would be a huge offensive loss to the Bengals if he refused to play. The Bengals told him to sit, he then in turn caved when he realised they wouldn't re-do his deal and is reporting to camp. Winslow in Cleveland is re-negotiating and had said he is reporting to camp so he is not a distraction.
  15. Personally, If I was someone like Evans or Crowell, and the Bills caved into Peters right now and they started negotiating with him before I had a new deal in place, I would tell my agent right away that I refuse to talk to the team and will become a UFA this offseason. If they are in camp, working with the team and had been to Offseason programs with the Bills, they deserve to negotiate first for a deal for next season, before someone who still has 3 years left and hasn't played through half of his new contract yet.
  16. thats my biggest problem with it, lets say the Bills cave and give him what he wants, he comes back and is named a Pro Bowler again, would he then be underpaid again because he signed it when he was only a 1st time Pro Bowler and now he is a 2x Pro Bowler? If he comes in and doesn't make the Pro Bowl again and looks average, or he re-injures his groin, is he going to sit out next offseason until the Bills re-negotiate his deal to lower his contract back down to his value? He hasn't even played out half his contract yet. When he signed that deal, he was a RT, and half way through the first year he was switched to LT. Him and his agent had to know at that point that the Bills would be looking at moving him over eventually and trying him as a LT too, so why would you accept a long term deal if you are just going to demand a new one because you will be paying a bigger position on the line that should mean higher pay? Face it, his agent screwed him over and is trying to make up for it right now And if the Bills are the first to call and just give him what he wants, whats to stop anyone else from doing it? Why shouldn't Lynch sit out now and demand a new deal? He was one of the top RB's in the league last year in his rookie season. He's underpayed now. I don't have a career that requires negotiations, but even I can tell that "just pay him his money" and that they should have contacted him about this are not ways to run a buisness and negotiate. Unless of course you want your buisness to fail rather quickly. The Bills are doing the right thing. Sure the team might suffer a bit losing such a great player, but he is going to lose a ton of money in fines, as well as not get paid for sitting out. he is the one with demands for a new contract, he is supposed to be the first to make contact initiate discussions. Its not like the Bills are the ones wanting to pay him more money, they would be ecstatic to keep him at what he is making now. And right now Brandon is saying everything right. Show up to camp, work out with the team, get ready for the season and we will talk. They aren't saying they won't re-do the deal, but they are saying we won't if you hold out. Look around the league, you have a guy like Winslow in Cleveland who wants a new deal, but he said he did not want to become a distraction to his team so he is there at camp working out and working on a new contract. Teams may look at your demands a little better if you are working with them instead of threatening them. And bill, no one is saying that Peters shouldn't get more money (not even the Bills FO are saying that) people are just frowning upon a player that the Bills took off the scrap heap and molded, trained and turned into a star, and now not even half way through his contract he is sitting out and trying to force a new deal. And we all understand that he is a key player in a very imortant position, but even if it was a RB, or QB, or WR, no one would feel differently about it, it would probably just get more media attention because those players are higher profile. I guess though you would feel differently about the situation if it wasn't a linemen and it was someone like Whitner or McGee wanting a deal because they are only DB's and good ones are a dime a dozen?
  17. You mean, like the situation Aaron Rodgers was in. Sit behind a great QB and watch and learn from him until the team decides (weither their choice or not) that its your time to take over.
  18. hmmm, lets think about this, Pick up a veteran QB who is only going to play for 1-2 years tops (we believe) and a first ballot HOFer who had a great year last year and carried the team into the playoffs, or stick with a guy who has played one half a season, put up good stats for a rookie and shows potential, in a year were fans are calling for a coaching change is they don't make the playoffs? I seriously don't get this fan base. He is not a lockerroom cancer, no criminal record, and is one of the top players at his position, and the Bills should pass cause it means Trent might have to sit behind and learn from Favre for a year or 2? Think of how much better Trent could become if Favre takes him under his wing for a year or 2 And I agree about the AFC thing, that Packers will trade him out of the division/NFC to limit his impact on them, and in the AFC, Buffalo could be a possible destination. Plus, didn't he say something about wanting to stay in a colder weather area?
  19. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco_Andretti He doesn't get as much publicity, but he also is not a woman in a mans "sport" (I put it in parenthisis because I don't feel auto racing qualifies as a sport) He has won 1 race over his career and is mentioned ALOT due to his family name and his performance at the Indy 500 Both racers have about the same amount of IRL experience (Danica has one year more)
  20. But when she did those things, she was already in the spotlight But true, she didn't have to accept any of those offers. Although I do wonder if there was any pressure from the IRL on her to do that stuff to promote a struggling racing league, and make her a "poster girl" for them. The double-entendres in the advertising is also not her fault, unless she also has credit for writing the commercials for her cars sponsor.
  21. Two of my favorite comedies are The Cable Guy and Death to Smoochie. Even Jon Stewart who played a big role in Death to Smoochie makes fun of it for being a bad movie no one saw/like
  22. I stayed at being just a draftsperson and designer, I didn't want to continue on to do more schooling and prefer just drawing and designing houses. I have never been a fan of these "artsy" designed buildings In Highschool, I took my 11th grade drafting the period before my 12th grade drafting (in the same semester of the same year). I was the only one they allowed to do that ever, i had to have special permission from the teacher
  23. You realise he wasn't serious Since the Draft all Obie has been doing here is complaining that the Bills didn't use their top picks to bring in more linemen because they need Pro Bowl level depth on the lines.
  24. Probably cost most of all In the NE, not many have California kind of money to throw around on something you can't use more then 4-5 months of the year. There might be a difference though in maintenance for the winter, since in the NE, you have to worry about the ground freezing, but in California, theres no worry of that.
  25. Too bad, she's mine, I have been in love with her since her days hosting The Powerblock on Spike. Courtney Hanson just doesn't do it for me like Danica did. and Buffalobud, I think this is the quote you are refering too "Unfortunately, things involving me tend to evolve," Patrick said in the report. "I'm on the hot seat when I do something and when others do something (connected to me). It's kind of the line that I walk because I'm popular." And she does make a point, although the wording at the end does make her sound a little arrogant. But its true, she was thrust into the spotlight for being a cute woman driver who has had flashes of being pretty good in a male dominated occupation. The media is always spotlighting her no matter what she does because she is a woman. I don't really blame her though for being angry and going over to Milka, If you are the slower car, you are supposed to let the faster ones pass. Also, if I had all these expectations and pressure on me from the media, I'd need to release some steam from time to time.
