  1. Was it really the real Favre, the first ballot HoFer that we saw against the Giants? Or is it what we all hope is the real Favre now that he is in the AFC East? I'm not saying that Rodgers won't be fine, what I am saying though is that how much of those players success can be attributed to having Favre throwing to them, or in the RB's case, having a guy like Favre keeping defences honest and not stacking the line because they aren't afraid of Favre beating them with a pass?
  2. They never said they thought they had a better shot with Rodgers then Favre, the reasoning behind not bringing him back was because the team had already moved on and were already well into an off season of building their offence around Rodgers since Favre decided to retire. By bringing him back in to start, they would be throwing away an entire offseason of work so Brett could play again
  3. c'mon, they are atleast 15-16, isn't that right around the myspace type age? I'm in that category that doesn't care anymore. They are over hyped and mean nothing except to the atletes and their families. They have become all about the spectacle and the sponsorships. Some of the events I don't even understand why they are there. You now have pro athletes playing against amateurs in some sports, people going to other countries and getting passports to play for other countries that need athletes and couldn't make their birth countries team. I'll stop if something catches my eye or I am insanly bored, otherwise I can't wait for them to be over. I would rather watch the X-games, and although they are overly sponsored, I find the events more exciting then a 100 yard dash, shot put, or mens gymnastics
  4. don't you mean stojan happens That is crazy, but it says nothing about making disparaging comments about your former #1, now your backup, and getting banned. If that was the case here, then you would have about 5 members here left, not 3. I have only seen a handful of posters ever say something bad about Trent, unless its now considered bad if you said you haven't seen his greatness yet.
  5. I never said it was Although after I posted it, I knew I should have clarified that I wasn't in Cleveland but that we had a bad storm last night too
  6. If they are stacked, so are the Bills. How do you think some of those guys will look without a HoF QB throwing to them, and teams no longer having to respect Brett beating them with a pass?
  7. I don't completly disagree with 1billsfan. Talk is cheap, until the back it up on the field too its just talk at the moment. (I know theres not much they can do to back it up until then). Its great to see the players don't fear other teams, but I bet you would hear the same thing said from the Miami Dolphins lockerroom too right now. They aren't going to come out and say they are scared of them, or that he is going to make them such a better team that they shouldn't bother coming out to play them. Its great to know they don't fear Favre or Brady, but that hasn't done much in the past to stop Brady against them. Its also great to know that a player on the Bills offence isn't scared of another teams QB, since he never has to be on the field at the same time with him until after the games over and they are running back to the locker room.
  8. Can we really call what the Jets hit rock bottom, when we have Miami to enjoy watching in the same division? Miami would be considered to have had a successful season if they could reach what the Jets had last year, LOL The issue with bringing in Favre wouldn't have been NFL salary cap related, it would have been self imposed "Cash to the Cap" related, they may have been interested but only if they could work something out to dump salary back to Green Bay, or have GB cover some of his salary (if that can be done in the NFL like MLB). That could very well have been the stumbling block, and why Buffalo was not considered as having serious interest in him. Bringing in Favrewould not have been the Bills giving up on Edwards, or showing they have no faith in him, it would have been a sign of them wanting to win now, and giving their young QB a chance to learn from one of the best, and develop on the bench for another year or 2 before handing him over the reins of the team. letting Edwards sit on the bench for a yer or 2 behind Favre wouldn't kill him or destroy his development.
  9. I was out looking at houses after work and just looked out to the north and saw the darkest clouds I had ever seen over the next town, we finished looking at a house, came out, got into my truck to drive to the next one, and it just started pouring!
  10. More like 9-22 115yards 2 TDs 3 INT if that line was for Losman 17-22 115yards 0 TDs 1 INT if that line was for Edwards Don't you watch Bills football? Trent has Poise and will complete alot of passes for short yards, but will throw for few TDs (Lynch will take care of those) but will set them up for FG's. Losman will throw a bunch of incompletes, but will have a couple deep passes to Evans for TD's and a bunch of INT's Either way, the Bills will still win the game 20-14, but the game will be horrible for JP, and great (for a second year pro) for Edwards
  11. It probably had nothing to do with having Walker and peters ahead of him on the depth chart. Never did I say that he was better then either of them, just that its possible that he might not be as horrible as everyone thinks, and may be capable of holding his own at the RT position, although i guess its just easier for everyone to write him off cause he doesn't have much experience and isn't Peters
  12. Oh no, tha Pats lost a career special teamer, and he may possibly end up on the IR, and he is a former Bill. Wake me when someone who matters on that team gets seriously hurt
  13. Green Bay is Stacked???? I wouldn't be so ready to right him off this season. This press conference he just had was during the initial "shock" phase of the trade, but you have to figure he can no go 2 ways. Just go through the motions in NY to hurt the picks that GB will receive for him, and then retire at the end of the year (not likely, I think he has too much pride to do that), or he gets over the shock of being sent to NY, and plays his @ss off this year to prove to the Packers that dealing him was the worst move they have ever made and try to make them regret the decision. or he could just decide to up and retire again before the start of the season (after they deal pennington to Miami of course) and say that his heart was no longer in the game. Then ESPN can run their Favre specials again and we can all hear how great he is all over again! As for the interception thing, you do realise that his entire career he has been known for throwing a fair amount of picks every year, and yet he is still a first ballot HoFer?
  14. its weird cause it seems like the show just started here Theres a couple Canadian shows that have followings in the US. Corner Gas, Trailer park Boys, Little Mosque on the Prairie, Kenny vs Spenny. The only one I haven't previously watched was Little Mosque, but its coming over to the US, although from what I hear, it will be on the same idea as the Canadian show, Muslim families living in the Prairie/heartland. I'm not sure if Trailer Park Boys is seen much besides on the internet, and kenny vs Spenny was picked up and being produced by the South Park creators (Its a show about 2 roommates who have contests against each other to do stupid things, and the loser gets humilated by the other at the end. It can be pretty funny because one plays by the rules while the other cheats to win, its a "reality style" show)
  15. Can things get any better for Bills fans then watching that mess in Miami? LOL
  16. I listened to him at work years ago before the move to Sirius. I stopped listening just before that because I became annoyed with his constant whining about the guy from CBS. The entire show just became him crying over it and taking shots at him for screwing him over. I won't pay money now to listen to his show.
  17. In 3 seasons he credit for 37 games and started 1. Hard to get a good read on weither the guy can play with only 1 start in his career. That one start was also at LT, the harder of the 2 Tackle positions to play, Have you personally seen him play RT before? Have you seen what he can do as a RT yet after a Training camp taking first team reps? He doesn't have to be a Pro Bowler, he just has to be good enough not to cost them games
  18. Theres a difference, Favre is only under contract for 2 more years, and you never know if he will come back next year. The Bills have no emotional attachment to him like the packers and their fans did, so letting him go won't be as hard because he would only be here to "win now" and for Edwards to learn from. Oh well, I guess its better he works with JP all year, and a career backup QB coach instead. Or of course, the better option of bringing in Pennington
  19. And yet Marino is still a Hall of Fame QB who's only blemish on his career was that he never won a SB, much like another HoF QB we all know and love I really don't think you can give any credit to the Buffalo Bills for "tarnishing" any HoF QBs careers over the years without getting technical, and if thats the case, You can add Kelly to that list, cause the Bills didn't help his image by losing 4 SB's in a row, which is what outside of Buffalo he is most known for
  20. You like JP, yet you called him JP Loseman? As for Pennington, PASS. The Jets do have a great QB that Trent could have learned alot from over the next year or 2, and he's the reason Pennington is now expendable, but most here felt that having Trent soak up a veterans knowledge and sit for a year or 2 and develop would only stunt his development and wasn't worth it.
  21. I don't think they ever actually said they wouldn't do it this year Of course the bills would love to keep paying him what they are paying him now, who wouldn't want to get someone like him at such a deal. But they said they want him to honor his contract which can be viewed at in different ways. It could mean they want him to play a couple more years before they are willing to re-do the deal, or it could mean that they want him to report to camp before they start talking. Since he is under contract to them, and part of his contract is that he reports to camp, by sitting out, he is not honoring his contract. And they have said that they are willing to talk/negotiate if/when he reports to camp, but not if he doesn't report, which makes it less likely they wont negotiate a new deal til next year. They are not going to trade him unless he decides to continue sitting out during the season, and he will have to demand a trade out of Buffalo. Likely a "I'm not reporting til I get a new deal so if you won't talk now, I want out" They will keep playing russian roulette with the situation until one side has all the leverage. Right now the Bills have the most because of how much he still has left on his deal, and because they have said publically they will discuss contracts if/when he reports. It will get interesting, and you may see some more leverage slip either way after this weekend and with every game/practice played. If Walker fills in adequatly this weekend and is not a liability at LT, Peters will lose a little more leverage. If Chambers doesn't become a liability at RT, Peters leverage goes down even more. If they both stay healthy and make it through the preseason without injuries, peters leverage will go down even further. Peters and his agent may play chicken for a few more weeks in hopes that Walker or Chambers get hurt or stink up the field, cause right now, thats the only way they gain leverage against the Bills in this situation, if the Bills become desperate after seeing what they have without him
  22. So because the Bills haven't had good players on the line prior to Peters, that means Walker and Chambers will ultimatly fail??? My point is, you don't have any clue just how well the line will do with Walker at LT, and with Chambers playing RT because we have have yet to actually see those guys play those positions before. I'm not saying they will end up Pro Bowlers and its possible they could be flops at the positions, but they are being written off by you before you have actually seen them play in a game. What would you have said if someone told you 5 years ago that the Bills were practicing an UDFA TE at the LT spot? You probably would have written this nobody named Peters off too, instead of preparing his Bust for the Hall of Fame. We get it, Peters is the key to the bills success this year and the Bills have to have him back. No one will ever adequatly be able to fill his shoes ever.
  23. Or its possible he wants to call 1 play every drive? Maybe the negotiations are all about him wanting to chose when they get to wear the throwback unifomrs? All remotely possible situations
  24. Ok, with that you have just moved into a tie for first with Vegas at 2 votes a piece, with Miami in third at 1 vote.
  25. I guess you are a Corner Gas fan? Its a good show, and surprising to see it starting to take off a little in the US, too bad this up coming season is the last for it.
