  1. They had McKelvin fielding Punts too, thats when he almost had the run back last week for a TD IIRC As for the blocking comment near the start, would it be any different then when the team kicks it away from McGee and it goes to the other guy who is supposed to be the lead blocker?
  2. From the Rogers Centre FAQ section on their website Why doesn’t Rogers Centre have a natural grass field? To maintain the ability to transform quickly and efficiently to accommodate a number of events, Rogers Centre makes use of a synthetic playing surface for baseball, football, soccer and other sporting events. The surface, made to look, feel and play like natural grass is called FieldTurf. It is made by a Canadian company based in Montreal. http://www.fieldturf.com/ - The company's website A few teams in the NFL use it. NE, SD, Indy, Atlanta, Jets/Giants EDIT, if youscroe over the teams in Football that use it, it looks like 1/3 to 1/2 the league uses it, and compare it to real grass when they get used to it
  3. Can that really be considered a fact? Is it a true love for the game or just they see the finishline (The Draft) after college and know that this is the final step in reaching the big time, and the Big bucks? The players get their payoff for the hard work they put in in school playing on those teams when they enter the draft.
  4. I know a kick out of bounds will end up at the 40, but whats a better option, having them start at the 40, or put the ball in any of the Bills returners hands?
  5. Thats great, but talk is cheap, and unfortunatly, the Bills will not be cheap, so Kelly better be trying to back up his words with a financial backer with the kind of money it will take to get them, otherwise its just talk
  6. i wouldn't even judge it on the fins game either, its the dolphins, who wants to pay good money to see that one? The problem is too that they aren't trying to gain an all new fan base of average fans, they are trying to attract the bigger corporate $$$'s that Toronto has that can pay more money for the luxury boxes that are bringing in the big bucks. Everyone knows the fan support is there in Buffalo, its the big money corporate deals that bring in the money needed to compete in the NFL. When your largest sponsors are a local ice cream maker, and local Car Dealerships, you can't compete with guys like Kraft and Snyder, and Jones in the league Plus its probably going to take a game or 2 (not pre-season games at more then regular season prices) to bring fans in. You are marketing into an area where you have Argo fans pissed someone is moving into their territory so they are boycotting, and how many Buffalo fans are going to want to travel to Toronto because they all have the idea in there head that this is only being done to move there team from Buffalo
  7. Its a newer turf they just started using in the last 1-2 years at the dome for the Jays and Argo's. They will not be changing it just for the Bills or anytime soon and its supposed to be pretty decent stuff. The old stuff was more like paint on concrete
  8. I have only seen one person openly hoping he gets injured, just like last year there was one person who openly said they hoped JP got injured so Trent could get his chance (weird thing was that it was before the game he was injured in)
  9. Maybe this was the plan all along. Spend years with pathetic and inept play calling, make you TE's as useless as breasts on a Nun, and then one day just start calling good plays and using the TE. Completly mess with the oponents game planning! We were all fooled, it was the plan all along!
  10. I don't think anyone has ever said they hate Edwards, well except in Bills mind, where if you aren't part of the his Trent for HOF group you hate him. Everything I have seen have been people expressing concern over his arm strength and they want to see a little more of him before annointing him the franchise QB. The offence didn't look any different lat year no matter who was in, and he did not look fantastic near the end last year. But last night that entire offence stepped up and looked good on those first 2 drives with the starters in against a good defence in Pittsburgh. The thing we all have to remember, is that good or bad, this is only the pre-season right now and we have all seen players step up and look great in the pre-season and then become adequate/mediocre in the regular season
  11. I can guarantee neither would get chances to touch the ball as every kick would either be kicked directly out of bounds or through the endzone just so neither have a chance to touch the ball. I think the Bills can say they have the best return group in the league right now. The rook almost has a punt returned for a TD if he didn't make the mistake of running back towards the kicker last week, then this week he learned from that mistake and took it all the way
  12. That $6 Billion doesn't just go to one school, its spread around to every school thats part of the NCAA. And last time I checked, there aren't very many CBS Librarys, or the Dormitories in college, they typically are named after alumni that put up cash to buy the schools those items. And if you are going to pay them, why should a chemistry student be paid, they put in just as much work studying and in academics, the entire reason there is a school, unless in the US schools are only there to support the sports team, and academics are second to all of it. There stipend is the fact that they get to attend the school without having to pay a tuition like the majority of the other students, just to play in those sports. Student athletes already have more perks then the average student does, to now pay them for playing too, thats over the top. Sure the chemistry student who has a full scholarship may also not have to pay tuition because they had a full scholarship doesn't mean that they don't work just as hard or harder as someone who received a sports scholarship, just because that person has to spend time at practicing and playing in a game. People are making it sound like these athletes are there getting big degrees while spending the rest of their time playing football or basketball. How many athletes actually leave school with a full degree in something big? That chemistry student has to work just as hard as the athlete to keep their grades up in top top of the class to keep their scholarship, and they don't get that extra help cause they are a star athlete.
  13. He could go 10-10 for 90 yards and ist will mean just the same as 1-5 if they settle for 3 instead of 7 I don't care if the QB goes 1-5 on every drive, if the drive ends with the Bills putting 7 on the board instead of punting it away, or settling with 3
  14. They do, its called theirtuition payed in full. Its not like they are their at the school because they want an education and have decided to try out and play for a school team in their free time. The reason they are at the school, with a scholarship paying their tuition is because they are a good athlete and are brought in to play. They get paid by being given a free education to play a sport.
  15. It isn't? Last time I checked, it was not cheap to go to a good school, and it wasn't simple and takes alot of work to get a full educational scholarship to a good school based on academics instead of sports. Those students who get the educational scholarships have it just as rough having to study hard to keep their grades up high because if they don't, they can lose their scholarships too. That chemistry student instead could be spending 5+ hours a day working on a report or studying for an exam, and does not get the benefit of being a hero at the school and getting by on being a gifted athlete. One of the differences is that when that chemistry student leaves school, they will not see a million dollar signing bonus and high 6-7 figure income to become a scientist or a doctor. You also don't typically see that athlete attending chemisrty, or physics, or calculous to get their "degree" Sorry, I don't feel sorry for these student athletes that get full scholarships to big schools because they don't get paid at a collegiate level because they play a sport that brings in revenue for the school. You are already at an advantage getting your schooling paid for you because you can run fast, catch a ball, hit a ball, or throw a ball really well.
  16. What about the other students who have to pay their tuition, and work and maintain good grades to stay in school? This kid is being payed, he is being payed by getting a free college education to a good school based on him being able to play a game that if he plays it well enough at school, will be making more then enough money to live comfortable for most of his life. If he can't afford his $1,000/month rent, maybe he should quit the team and get a full time job to pay for his apartment, and then he can see what it is like for everyone else at school who have to pay tuition and succeed in their classes and not live off of the fact that they are a gifted athlete.
  17. Really? Damn DJ, nice job! Whats it with Bills coaches people want run out of town for stupid reasons and their daughters. First Wade, now DJ?
  18. I see, I figured they were for something, like for whiping sweat from hands, or holding something in place, or cover maybe a cut or something, but I had no idea
  19. I will eventually see it, even though I dispise Ben Stiller. His Dad should be ashamed for raising a son like him. Obviously he didn't get any talent from his parents or else he may be enjoyable to watch sometime.
  20. I have a quick question about the picture, and it was something my mom pointed out while she was watching some of the olympics a couple days ago. What is the pick stripe thing the one is wearing accross her stomach, and the black thing the other is wearing over her shoulder for? They look like strips of tape As for the original post, I admit, some of the "sports" or "events that they put on make me wonder about the olympics. Whats even worse is seeing the list of the different groups fighting to get an event put into the olympics. Synchronized Diving does take some work though, anyone remember ski dancing (or something like that where they were on the side of a mountain and did a gymnastics style dance routine on skis) from a few winter olympics ago? I don't have a problem with the shooting events, it does take alot of training and skill to do what they do, not everyone can just pick up a gun and shoot out the centre of a target.
  21. yeah, I thought thay were pretty good for what they were, homages to B-Rated Grindhouse flicks of the 70's. You had to go into them knowing that you were going to see something that was mostly just violence for violence, and some occasional sex, with lots of mediocre acting, and non believable situations. I did like Rob Zombies movie preview, Werewolf Woman of the SS with Nicholas Cage. I would love to see that one made! Interesting fact that I did not know until I saw it a few days ago, the girl in Death proof that played Jungle Julie is Sidney Poitiers Daughter.
  22. Anyone know if Jason peters vacations in this area? If he let all his body hair just grow out, and if he likes to spend his vacations living the "rustic life" in a cbin in the woods..................... Oh good God, please don't tell me that they killed it, its all clear now why the bills said they haven't heard from him and he won't report now!
  23. Buffalo Bills TE Coach? Talk about the most underworked coach in the league!
  24. Isn't that A-rods girl from Toronto? Dick you son of a B*tch!
  25. He has gained a little leverage off of the injuries, but the Bills have still not shown that they are desperate to bring him back and will cave. They lost some Depth in those 2 guys going down, but they were depth who might not have even made the team if he was here. If they were to have lost a starter, then he will gain some serious leverage, but the Bills have shown they are not afraid of just moving someone over and having them fill in at a different spot if needed.
