I'd like to see some of the Jauron bashers around here
apuszczalowski replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He didn't debunk anything, cause if Jauron was conservative, he would go for the points and just try to get the Ball back again instead of going for it. In the Denver game he went for the kill while the Bills had the lead, along with the Dallas game. If he was so afraid and scared and conservative, he would go for the easy points or just try to run the clock out which he didn't. Did anyone not read the line where he talks about having the talent/skill accumulated? We are talking about a coach in the 1st 2 years of a complete rebuilding process with one of the youngest teams in the league and alot of attempted "stop Gaps" in the lineup, and last year a bunch of guys who started the season on their couches at home. I would hardly say they had alot of talent/skill accumulated at that point. And he doesn't say that you don't occasionally beat them with calls, just that he believes that you beat them with better players. You can call a great call, but you need to have the players to execute the play for it to work. He does not believe that there is a science to playing football. No direct correlation between running a certain amount of passing or running plays, or running a certain play on a certain down to win a game. He believes that having good players even running simple basic plays will win games in the league Sure its all talk at this point, everything is at the moment. But the talk so far is pointing to them understanding what went wrong in the past and what to do to fix it. Its good to see that he wants to score, and doesn't care how as long as they do it. Everyone's making it sound like he sat there and enjoyed the fact that the Bills couldn't score last year and that it is all part of his elaborate scheme -
You might have to tell that to Parker first, I'm not 100% if the situation is the same and if Jackson is in communication with the team at all like Peters
-
You can some up the comparison quite easily Evans - Has one year left before he can become a UFA and truly cash in. He just has to show up, play, stay healthy and he cashes in at the end, so no point holding out since it could risk him pushing off his UFA status if he holds out all year Peters - Still has 3 years until he can become a UFA and cash in, so if he wants more money he needs to take drastic measures to force the team to give in to his demands and pay him more. 2 entirely different situations

I have never been in a position yet where I have had to make a decision to take less for the good of the "team". But I am making just enough money to scrape by living as a "Joe Schmo" in this world, I'm not in a position where my current one year salary is what the average person would make in a lifetime He does have the right to want to make more money, everyone in the world has that right. I never said he was a fat greedy bastard either, and I never said he shouldn't get more money, maybe a handful of posters have actually said that he is greedy and lazy, I have just said that he is not going about this the right way, and that its not good for the Bills to just cave into his demands, thats not how successful buisnesses are run and not good negotiating tactics. Right now the Bills are doing the best thing possible in this situation, showing him that he does not mean more to this team then everyone else, and that they are willing to get by without him, at any cost by not caving and moving guys around to rework their lines. They also said infront of the media that they will not negotiate with him unless he is in camp and that they want him to honor his current contract That last part is where the assumptions can be made depending on how you read that. The Bills won't come out and say "Come to camp and you will get a new deal" or "Come to camp and you will get what you want". What they are saying is that they won't talk to you until you report. AS for the "honoring the current Deal" comment. That can be taken as "We want you to play for the contract you have signed already" (Who wouldn't want a Pro Bowl Linemen who makes $3.5 mil a year????) or (since he is not at Training Camp, a requirement under his current deal that he reports every year to training camp on time) "We want him to show up and honor his contract by reporting to camp before we begin talking" It is most likely, after seeing a situation similar to this happen with Schoebel a few years ago, that they just want him in camp before they start working out a deal, they want to see him committed to the team before awarding him a huge deal, which in my opinion is not a big deal. What does he have to lose? He shows up to camp, opens negotiations with the team, and if the team says no we want you to play out your deal, then you walk and go sit at home til they do talk, and this gives you the leverage and more fans on your side because you did what the team asked and they refuse to negotiate.

Beating the Pats this year
apuszczalowski replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm guessing he is talking about Cassel I'm going to stick with "Its only pre-season, too early to rush to judgement on the Pats with/without Brady yet" -
Or so you assume.
-
Who is crapping all over Peters? People just want him to get his ass to camp, to re-negotiate with the team since they said they will not re-negotiate until he does. NO ONE THINKS HE IS NOT WORTH MORE, NO ONE THINKS HE DOES NOT DESERVE A RAISE, PEOPLE JUST THINK HE IS GOING ABOUT IT IN THE WRONG WAY
-
Doesn't this just kill your entire arguement???? That is also assuming that the average Joe is making $52,500 a year, which seems to me to be a little high for "Average", but still that number works. So for only one year, Peters could then live off that money as an average Joe Schmo for the next 39 years of his life. Thats not counting his signing bonus, or previous salaries, or the fact that when he is done his football career he can do whatever he wants, get a job, retire, go back to school and get an education, and he still has it better financially then the average person. He also only had to work 8 months max to make that money for the year. He has all the rights to want more money, just like everyone else, but that doesn't mean we should feel sorry for him.

'Buffalo-Bill' saga continues..
apuszczalowski replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder where polian would be if the Colts would have drafted Ryan Leaf instead of Peyton? -
But we have no idea what they have discussed, so as sure as you are that the Bills no what he is looking for and just don't want to pay it, its just as likely that the Bills have not had those types of discussions with Parker, and that the discussions they have had have just consisted of them telling him they won't talk numbers until he shows up to camp. Even if they knew what he wanted and were going to pay it to him, by giving it to him to end the hold out, without him meeting their demands first (by showing up and reporting to camp) it shows the Bills cavin to his demands, and not something that would be good for the team. They need to show everyone else that no one is above the team and they do not cave. It just makes it harder in the future with contract negotiations.
-
Is Boldin holding out or demanding that his contract be re-negotiated? He has every right to ask that his contract be re-negotiated to make something similar, this debate has nothing to do if anyone feels that Peters i worth the money or not, cause I don't think anyone is saying he isn't worth it. Its the fact that the Bills have said we will not re-negotiate or talk about it unless you are in camp. He would have alot more people on his side, and more leverage if he showed up like the Bills asked and they refuse to talk like they said they would. Brandon has said the Bills expect him to honor his current contract. And to do that, he has to show up to camp. Of course they have also said they want him to play out his deal he signed 2 years ago, what GM wouldn't want him too? GM's would rather underpay then overpay. He never said they would not re-negotiate, just that they would like him to honor his contract and report, and that they don't negotiate unless he is in camp.
-
Here we go again. Let me guess, the LT spot is the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL? They get no respect, No respect at all! Peters does have full fan support that he is underpaid, the problem is his tactic for renegotiating. Its not about the position he plays, or the money he wants, its about how he is going about trying to get the raise. It has been shown in the past that the Bills will pay their players they feel are worth the money if they show up and put the team first (Schoebel is the perfect example, Pro Bowler who just signed a new deal and was becoming underpaid at his position compared to the rest of the team and league) And you might not be worried about Whitner and Crowell, but if the Bills cave to Peters, whats to stop someone like them or Lynch, or Poz from holding out to get a bigger deal? They could hurt the Bills just as much if they hold out too.
-
Why Bother? they just did that 3 years ago, and its done nothing for them because once someone else gets a bigger paycheck, or he gets another Pro Bowl under his belt (or atleast actually plays in the game, not just gets named to one) he will sit out and ask for more, and Bill and Mickey will be crying that he needs a new deal cause the Bills won't survive without him, Ralph is being cheap, and some dig about DB's

Donovan Bailey (former WR holder) had said that he believed that he would have easily hit 9.5 As for what he did, Why is it ok for him to completly obliterate his opponents by running around a 9.5, when he didn't have to to win, yet people got their panties in a wad because the Patriots were running up the score this year? Can someone give me an excuse as to what the difference is? The guy pulled up and held his hands out after he knew he won the race already, he still had a couple more races to run, maybe he didn't want to risk injury by going all out to finish a race he had already won, just to lower a WR even more?

That name was one of the best ones I have seen so far

I can't see a 3rd QB on the opening day roster
apuszczalowski replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is he the starter or is it between him and Gray? It wasn't a rant either, I was questioning him calling Hamdan and Baker trash, and then throwing in guys that may become available like a 250lb "QB" and Peyton Mannings backup (who I would assume would stay his backup if he was good enough to lead the team in Peytons absence) as a better option -
Last I heard, he expects to be ready for Week 1, but theres no guarantee at the moment he will be ready, thats just when he is expecting to be ready.

So I decided to buy a dolphins jersey....

When i was in college, 2 of my teachers did something sort of similar. One was a Montreal Canadians fan, the other a Toronto Maple Leafs Fan, and they had a bet that the loser between the 2 after each game had to wear the winners teams tie to class for the entire day -

You call Hamdan and baker trash, while giving the option of bringing in Lorenzen or Sorgi???????? Lorenzen is what, tipping the scales at around 250-300lbs, so maybe he comes in as a replacement if Peteres stays out. And Sorgi is so great that when the Colts are facing the option of possibly not starting the season with Peyton because of his surgery, they ran out and signed Gray to start for them until Peyton plays. -
NFL Relocation fee would be $600-900 million
apuszczalowski replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not since '94 I don't know how much I believe that. Who in their right mind would pay an extra $600 million just to relocate a team? Especially with the league wanting a team in LA so bad. Although I think if one person could afford to, and would be willing to do it, its Ted Rogers. They said in one article that his personal worth is around the $7 billion mark. It would be nice to have him as an owner if he would keep them based in Buffalo, and share with Toronto, but theres no way that happens. The worst part about this is that it really limits what happens to the Bills when Ralph passes away. We know theres no way his family keeps the team, and you have now limited the team in potential owners because this would turn alot of potential owners off since they are forced to keep the team in Buffalo no matter what happens, So someone who might be willing to purchase them and keep them in buffalo to see if they can compete with the majority of the league in revenue where they are might be scared off since they are handcuffed by $600 million if the experiment doesn't work -
I don't know how they can really make that comparison, unless the Dolphins were torn between Beck and Edwards and chose Edwards Leaf and Manning were 2 players that were being debated on between who would be the better #1 pick. One ended up a first ballot HOFer, the other is out of football. Its also a little early to call Beck a bust, he is only going into his second season, he has just fallen out of favour with a team thats desperate for a starter right now and changing FO regimes I don't know of anyone else that were seriously considering Edwards that early in the draft besides Buffalo
-
I'll say this about Edwards
apuszczalowski replied to silvermike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't say Youboty is the whipping boy, he is just voted most likely to be cut/traded/not make the team due to the talent at the position and the fact he hasn't developed into his potential yet. Although after the past 2 games, I'd say he is looking more likely to get a roster spot then be cut. Wright on the other hand is usually in talks aabout who is going to get cut and that he is a bust, along with Robert Royal who is more in teh whipping boy category. -
Now that McKelvin is under contract......
apuszczalowski replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It takes away the option of the kicking team kicking away from the dangerous return guy and at the guy who is going to block. Typically each guy sort of takes a side and the KR usually comes in to get it unless the kick it at th blocker. You put both back there, their option is limited to kicking to either dangerous return guy or out of bounds and give them the ball at the 40. The way I see it playing out though is that the Bills will alternate depending on the guy who is fresher and who is coming off being on defence the previous play.
