  1. The defence is Good, good enough to take the team to the playoffs. The aren't great, or a top 5-10 defence, but good enough not to cost them games. look all you want at stats, but the most important stat is points given up, cause thats what wins and loses football games. They are keeping the team in games, but just aren't good enough to do the offences job for them and carry the team and win games for them. The offence on the other hand is bad, very bad. With a decent offence, like one that could score 20 points a game, the defence would look much better because they would actually be winning games.
  2. Hamdan will be the #2, they won't get a FA QB this offseason. That list is not impressive. And there is no way that a starter right now like Garcia, or Collins or Warriner will come to Buffalo to be a backup. The only way they sign here is if they are given a chance to start, and would probably have to go into TC as the penciled in starter before they would ever agree to sign here. The only way they sign as a backup somewhere is if theres no other option and they don't feel like retiring yet. McNabb coming to Buffalo to be the #2 guy is about as likely as a Duke Preston pro Bowl start this year. If he is tossed aside in Philly this offseason, there will be plenty of teams making offers to have him start for them (Chicago, Detroit???)
  3. Not in Buffalo, that sounds about right I don't havea problem with Wade coming back, but I doubt he will. I also don't care if the coach runs up and down the field, screams and spits, drops his pant, or looks like he is Draculas cousin on the sidelines, as long as what he does on the sidelines leads to the Bills winning. As for the comment about wade not getting the Cowboys past the first round, what about Shottenheimer? People were screaming for him, he seems to have some playoff problems and can't win the big one, but people were happy cause atleast it was the playoffs. And as for the comment about him making it to the second round, but not by winning a first round game, is it a bad thing to coach your team to a better record and get a first round Bye, rather then a slightly worse record and having to play in a wild Card Game?
  4. who says he has the money to do it? Are you his accountant? Doyou have access to his bank account files? Can Ralph just go to his personal chequing account at M&T Bank and take out the money to get this new coach, or does this money haveto come from revenue thats brought in through the team? You do realise that the majority of the time when people are considered Rich, or Wealthy, that they don't have all that money just sitting in their personal bank accounts, that money is tied up in investments, and in things like Real Estate, and buisnesses. Just because the bills may be worth $800 million (give or take) it doesn't mean Ralph has that kind ofmoney just sitting in a bank account for him to use whenever he wants
  5. I don't disagree with the idea of letting Hamden play until Trent is ready again so they see what they have as a #2 next year, and future "fan choice" starter next year if Trent doesn't turn them around and they no longer have JP as an excuse/whipping boy. But as for Losmans play, there might not be many QB's that have played worse, but I wouldn't say that Trent has played much better (minus the KC game) in the last couple weeks. Trent wasn't exactly lighting it up against the 49ers, or the Browns, or the Jets, or Dolphins, or Patriots, etc, etc, etc
  6. it also doesn't help that alot of the fans in Buffalo decided to boycott the game as a protest against putting the games in Toronto. You can't cry and complain and say you won't buy tickets to the game, then complain that the stadium lacked bills fans. Someone had to buy the tickets, and if Bills fans didn't want them, and put location of a game more important then trying to make it a home atmosphere, someone had to buy them, and it left it open for the away teams fans to buy tickets.
  7. thats why they will have to send a good team to Toronto so they get somewhat of their monies worth in the deal
  8. Of course it was a money grab, almost everything any ofthese owners do is a money grab. They need to grab money to stay economically viable in Buffalo and show any potential future owner, that the Bills can survive in Buffalo, with a little help from the surrounding areas. Would there still be the same outcry if they played a game in Rochester? No, Fans would love that, they are only complaining cause its a large Canadian City, and not an area they feel comfortable sharing the team with cause they don't onsider Toronto to be part of their area. The way for the team to stay in buffalo is to reach out and regionalise themselves, and Tornot is their best chance at trying to attract any of the big corporate money. As for the last 2 sentences in that paragraph, in the first line you said that Ralph said he wouldn't use it on players, then in the second line you assume that that also means he won't use it to operate the team. I don't think he ever said that, theres more to operating an NFL team then just paying players or coaches. Its not like he is just going to take that $10 mil a game and pocket it or put it in his personal bank account.
  9. there were 3 choices for the Toronto game San Francisco Miami New England The deal that they made with Toronto and the CFL was that these games are to be played after teh Grey Cup in Canada so it does not interfer with the CFL, and that is played at the end of November. With the NFL making the schedule, and not the Bills, they had to chose which one to take to Toronto out ofwhatever home games were left after the Grey Cup. That left those 3 teams. I'm sure that Ted Rogers and the Toronto group had a choice in which one too, and the most logical choice would be the Miami game. They needed a game that would draw a crowd. the Miami home game for the last couple seasons has struggled to sell out (although after the Bills announced it would be the Miami game, fans started screaming and making it sound as if this game has people lining up at the doors trying to break the gates down to get into a packed stadium). Trying to sell the 49ers game would be tough cause the 49ers have been a bad team for the last while, and the fan base isn't all that strong up here for them. New England would be a tough sell because chances were (before Brady got Hurt) they were predicted to be a dominant team again, and the final game of the season would probably have them resting starters, and possibly have the Bills out of the playoff race that it becomes a glorified Exhibition Game. Miami was a big rivalry that they could still try and sell to a crowd (although the rivalry has been all but dead since Kelly and marino hung it up) and fans might be interested in seeing Ricky Williams again since he was an Argo for a little while. When deciding on the game, they had to look at it from a financial aspect first, and give Toronto their monies worth since they did fork over a big chunk of change for the rights to a game a year.
  10. They only need to start with 2, fix the offence and the defence will look 10x's better cause they won't be pressured to hold teams to a shutout to have any hope of winning a game. The defence this year, minus maybe 2 games, has been good enough to make the team a playoff team. Its the offence that has been killing the team.
  11. And how do you get the corporate dollars to come to your stadium? The point was to bring the team to them and hope they enjoy the product so much that they want to come back with you to your home. This is the same thing as taking the training camp to rochester or to somewhere other then Buffalo. Why is the NFL going over to England every year to play a game? Cause they want to build a fan base over there that will enjoy the product enough they will follow it in its home. Why didn't the NFL just bring Europe over to their stadium?
  12. And in that game it came down to a missed FG to cost the Bills the game. They were still in it until the end. In the last 2 weeks, the offence has done absolutly nothing and the team has not looked like it had any hope to come back in the game. Even at home the crowd is getting quieter, at the SF game, fans were leaving in the 3rd and the Bills were only down by 7, but the offence never gave anyone any hope of being able to come back and win
  13. Ireland in Miami has Parcells running the show, its not him on his own. As for Dimitroff in Atlanta, sometimes some guys do catch lightning in a bottle. That wasn't my point, I never said that first year guys never do well. My point is that the comparison was made to those other guys, who didn't start out in the league with immediate success. My point is that you can't expect someone to step into a new role and immediatly make a huge impact and turn things around, more often then not they won't become greats after only one year. Thats not to say it doesn't happen though. Its also much easier to go from a zero (like Miami and Atl) to a decent team then from a mediocre team to a good team. When you are a zero, theres nothing to lose, and almost everything is an upgrade at that point. When you are mediocre, you have to know exactly whats wrong and what can be done to fix it.
  14. Yeah, and its not from "Perry's Ice Cream" and "Saleens Hot Dogs" buying all the teams high priced luxury boxes. But yeah, keep on thinking that Buffalo is just fine financially that theres no need at all to try and make more corporate money to stay in Buffalo
  15. me too, I think i even mentioned that we shouldn't talk playoffs until they clinched because its happened in the past, like last years Lions who started the season lookinglike a possible playoff team then collapsing. Although I never once in my mind thought I would be right
  16. You can only trade them if you can find a willing trade partner, and recently teams have been finding it harder and harder to trade out of the top 10 because of the rising cost of rookie contracts
  17. Jax has always had this problem ever since they entered the league And those December Bills games like against the Titans 2 years ago? or The Dolphins games for the last couple years where they have had to also have local buisnesses buy up tickets to sell out the games?
  18. And with that line you just proved that you have no idea about football and the economy. Buffalo doesn't need any more corporate dollars? Really? Dallas is building a billion dollar stadium, and the Bills need tax dollar money to make small upgrades to RWS. Sure they don't need corporate money to help them stay afloat
  19. Can you honestly say that anything in the last couple weeks has given you a reason to stand up and cheer for the Bills?
  20. Actually, most people around here thought that the Bills were going to make a run for the playoffs this season, they have the talent in some areas, but they just haven't been able to put it all together
  21. And all of those guys have had tons more experience then him and had to start somewhere too. I'm not saying that Brandon will be in there league, but he ahs only been a"GM" in charge for 1 season now.
  22. Score more then 3 points each in 2 games and the fans will go crazy too. The team needs to give them something to cheer about. RWS would have been just as quiet with Bills fans if this was in Buffalo. Pittsburgh wouldn't be as loud if they didn't score and only put up 3 points
  23. you mean like how JP lost his job to Trent after an injury?
  24. I love how people are making such a huge deal about it being such a loos since its a divisional game against a rivel, when many fans up until this year wouldn't have considered Miami a rival anymore, and I believe there was discussions about that last year here. Miami and Buffalo have not had a rivalry since Kelly and Marino hung up the cleats. The biggest rival for Buffalo the last few years have been the Pats. The Bills have had trouble selling out the Dolphins game every year for the last few years. There wasn't much of a choice for the NFL for scheduling the game. They said it had to be a late season game cause they didn't wantthese games to be scheduled during the CFL season. So that would leave the SF, Dolphins, and pats game this year to schedule in TO. SF only comes to Buffalo once or twice a decade, and is not enough of a draw in wither country to attract people. As for the weather/homefield issue, In the last couple years, how many times have the Bills actually won a game because of the weather, or because they played at home? The Giants last year? The Browns last year? SF last week?
  25. yeah, but its just easier if we pretend he did cause he sucks and causes this team to only lose
