It doesn't help that Bills fans also shy away from that game because they want to protest the games played there. If you want to make sure the place is full of Bills fans, buy the tickets and fill the place with Bills fans, you can't just sit back and hope that others do it for you cause you are against them playing games there. What do you expect the people of Toronto to do when Bills fans just complain about them that they are just trying to take the team away? (and Virgil1528, I am not directing this towards you, I am directing ti towards anyone who has a problem with the games being played there, and then complaining cause the place isn't filled with bills fans) As for the TO game, theres no way to know until the dates of the games are released. It will have to be a team that will attract a crowd, it can't be a garbage game, Toronto is paying good money for more then garbage games. The agreement said that the games need to be played after the grey Cup at the end of November, so the choice will be between only a few games at the end of November/December

Rumor: DJ has lost his job.........
apuszczalowski replied to SKOOBY's topic in Off the Wall Archives
So what? You are shaking hands with the OC. A friend of mine has a picture of him golfing with DJ, He has alot of inside sources too I guess. I never meant to say that you are spamming the board and that you don't have connections, just that you have to expect this kind of response when you come here and say its from a "inside source". You don't help your case by bragging about having a better car and trying to make yourself more important then everyone else here. You really seem to care that the "lowly people" of this board know that you are more important then they are when you start responding like that. This is an internet message board, a place where anyone can say anything and make any claim they want with very little proof weither its true or not -
Mort says Ralph and Dick meeting tonight
apuszczalowski replied to extrahammer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the meeting might go something like this "Dick, I was all ready to fire you after the embarrassment that was this season, but to be honest with you, with all the comments i have been reading about me being "Meddling", "Doddering", "Cheap", "Too old", and that I should die so someone better can take over the team, I can't think of anything better for the "fans" then to make you sign that rumored 3 year extension and promote you to president and GM too. Congrats Dick!" -
Mort says Ralph and Dick meeting tonight

Ah, JP was never told that the jags game was Make or Break, he put that on himself and the fans ran with it. if the team really told him that game was make or break, why would he still be with them this season and given chance to start? -

Seriously, you can not take offence to someone asking for your source. Anyone can come on here (and there have been a bunch in the past) and say they have "inside sources" who have given them inside info. Without being able to back it up and give more then just "Somone with inside information", you will get this kind of response. Coming back and saying that you have an expensive car and communicate with "different people" then the rest of us won't help your case either. -
At least the Pats stay home too...
apuszczalowski replied to VJ91's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The one thing that made the Bills season bareable to me is that the Pats had a record worthy of the playoffs and they will be sitting at home watching next week, and the Cowboys can join them. Buffalo may have missed the playoffs again, but they weren't much worse (and finished) around where many projected at the start of the year. Both the pats and Cowgirls were SB contenders at the start of the year, and the closest they willget to it is if Kraft and Jones decide to hold their own Superbowl against each other in protest against them not being in the playoffs, something i could see happening -
Let's "blow this up" and start over - players & coac
apuszczalowski replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sure, why not sell to TG? He would need to sell the Sabres first, and maybe the rest of his assetts cause most of his money is tied up in his companies and the Sabres/HSBC Arena. He doesn't have $800 million just lying around in his bank account. Also, if you thought Ralph was cheap, have you lookedat the Sabres? They have a self imposed Salary cap that is well below the leagues cap, and only strayed from that cap for one year because he inherited a team that became a winner and came so close to a championshipthat he wanted to give it one more try. Ever since then, his team has been falling back to mediocrity, and he has done nothing to try and fix it as he has become non existent. He has yet to higher a new coach or GM so we haven't seen if he is willing to pay money for better coaching/management, but he has made cut backs to the scouting department to save money. He is all about breaking even or turning a profit over winning championships -
Of course, winning is everything at all cost. If you are good at what you do, you should be entitled to get away with whatever you want, especially to family members of the owner. Is any of this "name calling" and "meddling" actual fact, or is it all just rumors?
-
Just because they are under the Cap, that doesn't mean the Bills actually have $25 mil. in extra cash lying around to spend. That just means that they are below the level that the league set as a maximum that all teams can spend on players
-
This is true with Ralph as an owner since he has owned them since they started, but would the team stay at that same level with a new owner? Unless that owner has $800 million + in cash sitting around to buy the team and keep them debt free, he is going to have to go into debt for the team. How many people in Buffalo have $800 million to spend on the Bills, and are not worried about turning a profit to maketheir money back? Take a look at the Sabres. Golisano bought them for about 1/4 of what the Bills will cost and his biggest concern is breaking even/turning a profit. They have a self imposed cap too. The Bills may have chosen to use the "Cash to Cap" approach, but that doesn't mean that they do it because they just want to turn a bigger profit, it may truly be a necessity to keep the team running and the ticketys affordable to Buffalonians. Also, Maybe Ralph has some potential owners already lined up for the team? Jim Kelly said he has some buyers, although I also wouldn't be surprised if the financial backing for that deal was someone likethe guy that bought the Statler building, and wanted to build the Skyscrapperin downtown buffalo

Lost in the Loss - Fred Jackson had a special day
apuszczalowski replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is giving the Bills exaqctly what they wanted a few years ago, a great 1a and 1b tandem, something they wanted to try to have with Henry and Willis. A good thing for the Bills is that it looks like atleastthese 2 are happy being a tandem and not wanting to be the only #1. It was great to see Lynch running out to mid field to congratulate Jackson on his big run last week -
If we can not get Marty Schottenheimer, keep DJ
apuszczalowski replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not that I am disagreeing with the idea of getting rid of Jauron, but both of those teams really did start over this offseason. The only difference is that they were so bad last year that any change could have been considered an improvement, and there was only one way to go, up. Both of those teams though have bounced back quicker then most had expected, and aren't really the norm, more of an exception. Getting a new coaching staff would essentially be starting over, unless they could get a coach that is going to run the same system that th current staff runs -
But it was all in the same place. There will be someone out there that will take a chance on him to come in and be a #2 competing for a #1 spot that they think they can turn around. This was only his first team, and the FA market for QB'sthis offseason looks really bleak. A place like Detroit, or SF may bring him in to compete
-
He won't be signed to come in and be a #1, but someone will take a chance on him and bring him in as a #2, with the chance to compete for a #1 spot in TC. There are many teams and coaches that will look at his athletic ability, and his surroundings in buffalo and believe they might be able to turn him into something with a bit of "coaching" He was playing well enough for almost the entire game yesterday to have the Bills in a position to upset the jets, it was just the last 2 minutes that turned the game into a disaster.

I would say Poz has just as good of a chance as being a Pro Bowler as Edwards. There are alot of good pieces here to build around, and they are all young players still developing. The offence needs some big upgrades this offseason though to be a playoff team next year. On the oline, getting a OC to bean upgrade to Fowler/Preston would help the most. Adding some depth to the o-line would be good too. There has to be a backup plan at QB. Trent has not looked good this year, and they will need someone in case he goes down again ( ) A solid veteran backup would be nice. Someone to carry the team for a game or 2 A TE is a must. They need a great TE since trent is usually looking for a safety valve, they need someone who can be another weapon in the air attack. As for the WR's, they either need to start calling more plays to Lee, he should see the ball 10x's a game. A good TE can take the pressure off Lee, along with a decent #2, which hopefully Hardy can become. The defence is good enough to keep the team in games, but if they want to make the playoffs now, and not have to wait for a #1 ranked defence to carry the team, they would be better off building an offence that has the potential to score TD's, and not just a dink and dunk offence that is content with FG's on every drive, hoping the defence or special teams put the ball in the endzone. Thisdefence has held many teams to around 20 points, but they lose games cause the offence struggles to score. Upgrades to teh defence at this point would be a luxury until the offence is improved
-
They also turned over about 50% of their roster Its easier to turn around a 1-15 team then a 8-8 team cause you can make moves at almost every position and its an upgrade, plus you have your choice of almost any player in the draft
-
Thats true, the Pats are still in first without Brady, but that team is not just Brady, they have built a very tough team around him. Brady is the cornerstone of that team, but that cornerstone sits on a solid foundation.
-
i think he is gone, but it will come after the season is over, firing him now does nothing, its too late for this year and does no good. Promoting April to HC now does no good with only 2 weeks left cause it will prove nothing, and he has no time to prepare the team his way, also, if he isn't given the HC job at the end ofthe season, he's as good as gone since its most likely he won't just step back down into his old position. Canning a coach after your bye week is not going to do anything for your team. Keep DJ til the end of the season, winning or losing now really won't do much now with only 2 weeks left. If your cannning the coaching staff, you will see a turnover in players, and the moment wn't matter cause there will be changes with guysthat weren't there with the team to be a part of that momentum. Let DJ step down at the end of the year, there may be a deal in place right now that he will step down after the final game for all we know. IF, and i stress IF, DJ is brought back for next season, he will be on the hotseat with his job and I can see him being let go during the season if the team struggles at all. Ralph is usually pretty silent until he is ready to let go of someone, he starts to speak out and let it be known that he is displeased with the direction of the team when he is ready to fire a coach in the offseason, or make a front office move. But what fans will need to understand is that there is no one that is a quarantee to come in and instantly turn this team around, Not Marty, Not Bill, Not Wade, no one is a guarantee. If they were a guarantee, they wouldn't be available right now.

Let's say the Bills pick 12th
apuszczalowski replied to Justice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills need to go offence heavy in this draft. The defence is currently goodenough to keep them in games. It won't be considered a top 5 -10 defence, but tis not a problem. Adding a pass rushing DE would be nice, but theres bigger more pressing needs on offence that must be addressed if this team is going to succeed. If they don't spend the offseason upgrading the offence, they will need the best defence in the league to hold teams under 6 points to have any chance to win games. This current defence is good enough to hold teams to around 20 points, they now need an offence that can score more then FG's if they want to see the playoffs next year. OC, TE, FB, Some depth forthe rest of the o-line, WR are all musts or else they will be stuck again looking at the playoffs from the outside -
Actually it might, cause saying it works/worked great would be false advertising and leading the customer into believing it was in working order.

Jauron Extension confirmed
apuszczalowski replied to Sen. John Blutarsky's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You make it sound like the bills made this decision right after this game. If its true and he did sign the extension, it was offered to him and done around the Bye week when the Bills were 4-1 and leading the division, and looked great. -
Left My Bills tickets on my dashboard......

He shouldn't talk much, the Redskins are having a huge collapse oftheir own right now and will also probably miss the playoffs after starting the season really hot. -
O.J.'s conviction unlikely to affect HOF status
apuszczalowski replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As it shouldn't. He is in the HOF and on the WOF (weither you like it or not) because of his play on the field when he played, not because of his life after football. You can't just take him off the wall, or out of the HOF and erase the memory of him from everyones mind. He will always be known as a Bill and always be known forwhat he did after his football career. The important thing to remember is that he is there cause he was an amazing football player. Wasn't Thurman Thomas a drunk? Didn't Bruce Smith have a drug problem? Why do we promote alcholics and drug addicts on the wall? Where do you draw the line? Players get these accolades because of what they did on the field.
