  1. Pretty good analysis No point discussing JP anymore, he is gone. Edwards struggled and in my view I didn't see anything from him that would make me believe that he will be anything more then an average to slightly above average QB. He won't be a guy that is going to carry the team on his back and beat teams on his own. Nothing wrong with that, as long as the rest of the team is built up around him. The Bills do need a capable game manager backup for when Trent misses a game or 2. It would have been nice to see some action in a game for Hamdan to see if he might be capable of that. I would have graded them with an A, but I think after Lynch and Jackson, theres nothing really much there. As for Lynch and jackson, my prediction next season is that they will start to get talks about being one of the best tandems in the league, and the best part about it is that both of them enjoy being in the tandem and are friends. This is a big weakness that needs addressing. Evans is always said to be a #1, but I haven't seen anything from him without JP throwing him a deep pass over that last couple years that would make me say he is a true #1. Maybe it the double teams, maybe its trent not being able to get him the Ball, maybe it the coaching staff not trying to get him the ball more. But he needs to be a bigger part of the offence if he's a true #1. Josh Reed was a bright spot. They need a great pass catching TE desperatly. Weither that could be Fine or not I don't know, but they really need a great TE. Roscoe is decent as a depth guy, but he is someone you keep around as a return guy no matter what. Its too early to really judge Johnson and Hardy, but hopefully they develop into threats for next season. This offseason, depth at guard and a OC are a must, the rest of the starters are good enough for now and could become a better group if there is an improvement made at OC. Getting back Schoebel should help the line next year. Another DE would be nice, but its a luxury. The D-line (and the defence) wasn't as bad as every tries to make them out. They kept the team in almost all the games, and with an improved offence that can score more then FG's and 20 points, the Blls can be a playoff team with this defence. Getting some better depth (especially if McCargo won't be back) on the line will be a must though getting Crowell back would improve the group alot. If not, getting someone in FA to send Ellison back to being a backup would be a must then unless they lose one of the current DB's on the roster, this unit can be left alone this offseason. If Youbouty can stay healthy and continue to develop, and McKelvin improves, they are set at DB for now. Still one of the best units i the league. You could see teams kicking away fromthe erturn men because they know the Bills guys are risks to take it back for a score, or atleast give the Bills great Field position I don't think a full rebuild of the line is necessary. On offence, a new OC is a must, otherwise depth guys are what are needed. This offseason the focus really needs to be on the offence. The defence needs to be able to know that they don't have to be perfect cause otherwise the game will be lost. They need to know that if they do give up some points, the offence has the ability to get it back. That will allow them to be more aggressive and take more chances. there has been alot of overreacting recenty about the team. They aren't as bad as everyone wants to believe, and are not in the same category as Detroit. theres still alot of young potential on this team, but now they really need to step it up as patients are paper thin right now.
  2. I have to disagree on how Bill Cowher is viewed of as a coach. He does not need to do much of anything else to be considered a candadate for a HOF spot as a coach, and if he cared at all about that, he would have stayed in Pittsburgh to try and get it there. he seems content at the moment with his TV gig, and spending the time with his family for now. Just cause its rumored he said that he would listen to the Jets offer, it doesn't mean he would take it. It just means he is willing to listen and if they blow him away, maybe he will consider it. Either way, believing that Bill Cowher would have any interest in coming to Buffalo is about 99.9999% unlikely to happen
  3. He is already being considered a great coach, otherwise why is almost every team looking for a new coach and Bills fans salivating over him and going after him? BC has already established himself as a great coach, he has already built a team and won a Super Bowl, what else is there to do for him? If he failed rebuilding a team like Buffalo, how would that affect his reputation as a great coach? Theres nothing more for BC to do, and the only way he will come back is if he really misses the game, or he is looking for money and someone throws him a crazy offer. As for Doug Flutie, some Bills fans still have a hard on for him, but he is not seen as a god or a saviour elsewhere in the league. Didn't he only have one more year after leaving Buffalo where he was even a starter?
  4. But if Brady is ruled out for the entire season, his salary won't be counted on the books IIRC, so they won't really have that much money tied up at the QB position
  5. You haven't heard? The new, and only important aspect of a Defence know is pressuring a QB, anything else is not important. Schobel didn't get enough pressure on the QB, so hence forth, he is garbage
  6. Exactly, people need to realise that Cowher is not coming here, no matter how much begging or money is given to him by the Bills. He does not want to come back and coach a rebuilding team, and its going to take alot more to get him out of his cushy job as a TV analyst. And who is to say that he would even be interested in coaching in Buffalo? What would be the selling point for Bill Cowher to come to Buffalo besides money? It wouldn't be to win another championship, he could have done that staying in Pittsburgh.
  7. I don't blame that all 100% on the caoching staff. Preston being dumb enough to be coaxed into a fight with the pats players, instead of getting off the field or into position as soon as the play was over has to take a big chunk of the blame too. They had the time to try one more play if time wasn't wasted by Preston. The coaching staffs blame falls on trying to run the ball up the middle with no time outs left and under a minute left. It was definitly NE's plan to coax the Bills into wasting the time that was left on the clock so they couldn't make another play, and the refs said that they only continued the clock with the fight because Preston was continuing it.
  8. I'm only saying he wouldn't be an upgrade opver what Buffalo has, exceptthat he will cost more because the numbers he put up playing on a superior team as a backup. His numbers will come back to earthe next season when he signs with a new team this offseason and doesn't have the pats offence to help him
  9. A better offence that can score more then 20 points a game would keep the defence off the field for more then they have been this season, and maybe they could sustain longer drives then. The defence doesn't get enough credit for how they have played this year. They were not bad, and only had at the most 4 games maybe were they were bad. having an offence that is a threat to score will help the defence alot more because the players don't have to be afraid of giving up a score that will cost them the game, and they can attack more and be more aggressive. When the offence is barely a threat to most defences, the Bills D can't play as aggressive because its not likely that if they do give up a TD or FG that the offence will get it back for them. They have to play near perfect in order to make up for the offences ineptness. Improve the offence and the Bills are a playoff team
  10. Cassel? No thanks, product of great players around him. He would not be much of an improvement over what the Bills currently have at QB.
  11. Dallas, hands down Detroit not winning a game is disapointing, but most people thought if a team would do it, it would be them, theywere a very bad team, and they pretty much lived up to the expectations many people had for them Cleveland and New Orleans make me take a "Wait and See" approach before claiming that Miami and Atlanta are more then just teams that caught lightning in a bottle, and that their success was morethen just some luck and a fluke. Denver and the Jets had big collapses, but nothing compared to Dallas's (The SB pretenders) Buffalo's was big at the time, but when you looked at their schedule and the teams they beat, they should have been 5-1 at the time anyway, even if they were just a mediocre team. They started out playing against some of the worst teams in the league this year. Throw in a couple of divisional games and have them start out 3-3 and finishing 7-9 does not look as bad. Their schedule had them set up to look stronger then they really were
  12. You would behappy with the bills sticking with preston? A guy who didn't realise the QB was in a shotgun position? Started a fight with the NE Defence today instead of hurrying back to set up for a FG with seconds left in the first half today? Fowler lost his job to Preston, and there has been no difference in the play.
  13. I am not in favor of kicking trent to the curb just yet, but I do question if he is going to amount to something more then just a slightly better Kelly Holcomb. They are very similar QB's, they like to dink and dunk and don't usually put alot of points on the board. The offence was a major reason why the bills did not make the playoffs. They only bright side on the offence was the running game late in the year. 4th quarter combacks against teams you should have blown out don't make a QB great FWIW, According to NFL.com, Buffalo's defence was ranked 14th in game day stats - http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tab...;seasonType=REG Coaching and offence are where the focus needs to be on this offseason, or else there really won't be much of a change next season.
  14. If dick is under pressure to win this season, why would he keep JP around as even a backup if he already failed in his make or break game? If Trent was thought of as injury prone by the FO, why would they then want to put the ball in the hands of a guy whom they already ruled to be a bust after giving him a make or break game? The fact is, JP was the only person to ever come out and say that the Jags games was a make or break for him.
  15. He did touch it, you could see his fingers get pushed back when it hit the ball
  16. And yet, besides maybe 2-4 games this year, the defence has been the only reason the Bills were in games. Too much blame has been put on the defence and the pass rush. they may not have been the best, but they have hardly been the reason why they lost games.
  17. mines just awesome, and "Ridiculous" I'm trying to figure out if yours is of a man or woman.
  18. Centre or TE Without serious upgrades to the offence, this team would need a defence that would overshadow the greatest defence ever in the NFL and have to hold teams to less then 7 points a game to keep the Bills chances alive. The current defence is good enough to make the playoffs with an offence that can score more then 20 points a game. Once the offence is capable of that, they can continue building a much more dominant defence. But as for the 2 players you listed, I would rather go with the D-linemen as that is a slightly bigger need then Safety.
  19. You would deserve it because of that picture of yours in your avatar!
  20. Yes, the Cowgirls were rumaged through by Parcells, but what their real problem is lack of character players. They are a group of "Me First" Players on the same team that don't work together. TO is a great athlete, but the guy is a locker room cancer and destroys teams from the inside with things like crying to the mediathat he doesn't get invited to sleepovers with the QB and TE, and that he doesn't get more catches when they threw the ball his way 20 times in a game. Say what you will about the Bills and their method of going only for "character guys", but Dallas is an example of a team that looks at talent first and ignores behaviors that can be negative to a team.
  21. Yeah, cause most people in buffalo drive cars worth more then the houses they own. And yes, bragging can include things that are facts. It is bragging cause you bring it up to try and make yourself seem more important to everyone else hoping it helps your arguement. Bringing it up does nothing to support your claim you have insider info and know people in the organisation.
  22. You don't get it Dean, If you are good at what you do, you should be able to get away with whatever you want. polian is good, but I don't think he is this great football god that everyone here makes him out to be. How many SB wins do his teams have since leaving the Bills? can you really say that without Manning, the Colts would have been anywhere near as dominant as they have been in the AFC? They still only have 1 SB appearance with a win in his tenure there
  23. If she is really like that, why wouldn't she want the team when Ralph is gone?
  24. I'm skeptical about this "Jim Kelly Investors Group". Anyone else think his investors included the guy who bought the Statler and was going to build the Skyscrapper in buffalo?
  25. No, theres 16 games, 5 home, 5 away, plus 6 divisional games
