Ralph's comments at the hall of fame press conference
apuszczalowski replied to berndogg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please do not throw logic into any post here on TSW, they are not appreciated. Fans seem to think that there are hundreds of investors lining up right now begging Ralph to sell the team to them os they can keep the team in Buffalo for aslong as the NFL is around, when in fact, there are less then a handful of people with ties to Western New york that could even possibly have the kind of money needed to purchase them. It will be a real eye opening experience when gfans see what will happen ifthey can find someone to buy this team and what will most likely be needed to change just to break even every year, let alone spend money like the fans want/expect them to. Increases in prices for everything, serious budgets tokeep salaries down........, a new owner is going to have debts to pay if they don't have the $800million+ to purchase the team, which means they will have more Bills to pay then what Ralph has now. Just look at what Tom Golisano has done with the Sabres. He has had a self imposed cap on the team keeping them below the cap in all but one season that he ahs owned the team, no big FA spending, letting higher priced guys go because of economics. And thats after only spending about a 1/4 of what would be spent to own the Bills. He inherited a team that went to 2 straight Eastern Conference Championships, and the only reason they had one year without a self imposed cap is because he caught the Sabres fever and knew he had to spend to keep the fans coming in and given it a run forthe cup. When that failed, he went back to a budget. First thing for him is the bottom line, staying out of the red, next comes winning -
But Ralph is evil and won't spend all of his money so fans can hold their head high above the fans of other teams with a SB win. Ralph is one of the men who made the NFL what it is today, he is the only reason that Buffalo has a footballteam for all of us to enjoy. He is one of the longest reigning owners of a team, and is very charitable with his earnings and the community. He deserves to be recognised in the Hall of Fame. Seems like the only people that aren't happy for Ralph are bills fans

Because it would require a complete overhaul of the current players on the defence and coaching staff to pull it off. The current players are not built for the 3-4 Defence. The current defence isn't as bad as everyone wants to think and are closer to being a good defence that its not in the teams best interest to start all over again right now, unless you want to give the current coaching staff more time to build a winner in Buffalo

Arizona used to be the joke of the league
apuszczalowski replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Finally someone with some sense. Buffalo is not a "joke" of a franchise. The problem they have had is that they have been mediocre. Big deal that they haven't made the playoffs in 9 years. Is it really that much more of an accomplishment to make the playoffs one year and then go back to being a bad team like KC, Oakland, Cincy, have done recently? Oakland is not a better team then Buffalo talent wise, and their front office is even a bigger mess. The problem is that everyone is overreacting thinking that the Bills are considered a joke because of Jauron. Would you really rather be a Lions fan or a Raiders fan? Atleast the bills give some hope of a possible playoff birth Arizona spen MANY years being the leagues doormats and collecting high draft picks to get to where they are. -
The writing has been on the wall since they picked up Roy Williams. Jones actually said that Williams was brought in to become Owens eventual replacement in Dallas. I just never thought it could be this soon
-
But Randy Moss wanted out and the Raiders were looking to deal, he is definitly worth more then a 4th, so it shouldn't be used as a bar to judge trade worth. There was no way any other team in the league would have got Moss for only a 4th. The Browns may only be interested in dealing Winslow if they receive a great offer since they aren't forced into a deal now

One of my favorite parts from last night was after the second episode they aired what seemed to be an improved take with JD and Turk in the Dying guys room talking about Death, and Turk says since he is diabetic he will probably die first, so JD says he will have him stuffed (and Carla too, but he will keep her in the closet) and when they call cut you can here the director say "What??? Thats Horrible, We can't use that!"

Its a great show, probably one of Canada's best. Brent Butt is working on another Pilot with his wife (The woman who plays Wanda) who will star in it. I have seen all the episodes and the final season starts in a week I believe here in Canada.

I didn't mean story wise, i just meant show wise. They kept the show the same, same type of comedy, sometimes throwing in some drama, characters were pretty much the same. Its basically just as if they had stayed on NBC and started a new season

This is what Bill Polian would do
apuszczalowski replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would take 10 years of having one of the best QB's ever to play the game too over what the Bills have had. My point was that everyone is all overthis guy and you are assuming that Bill Polian would do all the right moves to fix this team. His success in Indy hinges almost completly on the fact that the toughest choice in his career was taking Manning or Leaf, and luckily he picked got the better one -
Is Peyton a choker? Yes according to Whitlock

Who would have won with the defence Indy has been putting on the field? They actually looked to the Bills and tried to get McCargo, which they would have considered an improvement to what they had. That defence was horrible, and Indy's success has been because of manning and the offence. They have a very bad defence, butthe offence wins games because they are always a threat to score and it carries the team -
Exactly. He was cut because he sucked for them. If he actually played up to his potential as a first rounder, then he would still be a Cowgirl.

Couldn't "His Holyness, Bill Polian" turn Dick Jauron into a good coach as one of his many miracles he performs? -
Could Center be our Biggest problem??

Its going to take the Bills alot morethen a couple DE and an offseason to build a defence comparable to what the Ravens won a SB with (or have now). Giving the offence better field possition hasn't helped, the offence is just not good enough to score more then a FG when given the ball, and normally end up giving the ball back to the defence soon after the defencegetsthem the ball back. Schobel coming back improves the current DE's, and because Schobel got hurt, Kelsay and Denney needed to do what backups do in case of injury, step up and start. No team has dominating backups to sit behind their starters and most teams would see a drop in play when a starter goes down. Like I have said before, don't seriously improve the offence this offseason, and it won't matter what defence the Bills have they will miss the playoffs. This defence was good enought to take them to the playoffs this year, the offencewasn't anywhere near able to take them to the playoffs -
Someone should really look into the Cities meetings, maybe they are run by the underpants Gnomes? Step 1 - Paint Building and build a Bass Pro Step 2 - ...................... Step 3 - PROFIT!

A new all time low in television
apuszczalowski replied to BuffaloBill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That could be comedy gold! Imagine that fat kid from the commercials of the Biggest Loser on ice falling on a celebrity? or one fo the Dancers from Dancing with the stars? I have always wondered about the biggest loser, If you get kicked off, or lose, are you the biggest winner? -
I didn't find the last couple seasons that bad, but it was off and on the air so many times that it was hard to really get into it since the timeslot varied alot. The episodes tonight were of the same quality as when they were on NBC (i.e. nothing changed).

She is alright, but not enough to make me actually want to watch the show if the other 2 weren't on it. Also, most of here scenes are with Baldwin................

The Independent Film Channel (IFC)? had it before, but I think it was just the puppets doing the kiddie show (atleast from what i gathered reading about it on the net yesterday). I don't think any of the other actors were in it -
Mularkey a candidate?
apuszczalowski replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its debatable as to what exactly happened cause we really don't know what happened behind the scenes. I just love how he now goes to being fairly decent, and like everything else, better then whats here now, just one good season after he had been dismal for years
