  1. Is there really a huge difference in quality or "guarantee to pan out" between a 3rd rounder and a 4th rounder??? So instead of a 3rd, who isn't much more of a guarantee to be great, they get a 4th and a 6th/7th. 2 picks instead of 1 that they can use to manuver around the draft a little if they need to. This isn't like Buffalo passed on a 1st to get a bunch of 6th and 7ths. They moved down a round to the 4th to get an extra pick, something that people are always crying Buffalo needs to do, trade down and pick up more picks
  2. There haven't been many QB's signing this year It took til now for Garcia and Leftwich to sign deals, and they were some of the better ones available right now. Losman will probably get a few offers after the draft or during training camp when some QB's get hurt. He isn't going to get a offer to start, and it will most likely be a spot where he will have to compete for a roster spot. But he will have a job somewhere in the NFL, most likely with a team that thinks they might be able to work with him, unless he gets a better offer from that new league
  3. Because winning isn't about the scheme, its about having the coaches to teach it and use it correctly, and having the right players who are talented at what the scheme needs. Just switching back to a 3-4 defence isn't going to make the defence better. It would take a couple years to compile the proper players and a new coaching staff to run it cause the current guys specialty is the 'Cover 2' defence.
  4. Wasn't he busted last offseason for a DUI? The problem is that they now have too many WR's with Owens. Owens, Evans and Reed are the top 3. Hardy will be back and was drafted too high for them to give up on. Add in Johnson, who isn't really going to give them much of a return, thats 5 WR's. Parrish is out because he can probably get them the best return without sacrificing much in the WR department because they never used him much at that position.
  5. Successful buisnesses don't go out and announce that they are preparing to replace you when you have not shown any signs of being a problem at this time. Peters has not indicated that he will be a problem yet unless you just assume he will because of last year. Making assumptions like that are what get you in trouble because it sends the message to the player that you are not wanted/needed. Once the player decides that they don't want to be there, it leaves you little options and less negotiating power with other teams when they know you need to get rid of that player. Behind close doors you can have a plan in place and prepare for him holding out, thats a smart move, but not coming out publically saying that your planning for him not being there. My comments had nothing to do with Peters personally, it was about the complaint about what Jauron said.
  6. yes, that Murray. I haven't seen the ads, I was just making a joke since he works at the consulate. Those posters are great
  7. That is not the way you handle this situation. At the momnt, these are only VOLUNTARY Workouts, meaning, that it is not manditory that he be there. At the moment, Peters has also not given any indication that he will hold out again this year. Fans are just assuming that he will cause he did last year (and more then likely he probably will), but the coach can't make these assumptions before they happen. Right now, they have to continue on as if he will be there for camp and show up because he is under contract to be there. Behind the scenes, he can look at things and make plans in case he doesn't show up, but he can't go out in public and start saying things like "We doubt he will be here in camp cause he held out last year, so we are planning as if he won't be here". He can't say that until Peters actually indicates he won't be there. Thats not how negotiations work, and thats not how a successful buisness is run.
  8. Trading Parrish isn't because they need the money/room to give it to Peters, its because they have too much of a log jam at WR now that they have T.O. for one year. I don't think its worth dealing away one of the best PR's in the league just to have T.O. for a year. By adding T.O., they really aren't that closer to the playoffs, and are not SB contenders this year. These are moves you make when you are on the verge of being a contender and are making one last big run.
  9. Murray seems to have done an alright job with the ads
  10. wasn't Larry here during that time too? Or do you have all this overwhelming evidence that says he is only responsible when something goes wrong, like regier is only responsible for the good moves that are made? What do we know about Larry? He is a minority owner and TG's right hand man and mouthpiece. Was it all his decision to go to video scouting, or was it maybe TG's decision to save some money? Was he really the guy who procrastinated on the deal. In that press conference where you took that "quote" from, what word did he use. Did he say "I", or "We'? Is it all his choice to have a budget to keep the team breaking even, or is it something coming from a higher up? If Larry is so controling and incharge over the GM, why did Regier re-sign here? Why didn't he move on to somewhere that he could make moves on his own without Larry pulling his strings? Your only "proof" is some quote were he shoulder some of the blame for te Drury deal not getting done.
  11. Thats pretty much what they tried to do. They let Briere walk, even though he was coming out and saying publically he wanted to be back but they hadn't made any offers to him. They tried to re-sign Drury, but Drury wasn't as interested in Buffalo as Buffalo was in Drury, and he wanted to see if the Rangers would be interested. As for Vanek, by the time Edmonton made the offer, the abres had to re-sign him or risk Armagedon in the streets outside HSBC arena. Instead, they should have realised sooner that Drury's heart wasnt in Buffalo 100% and wanted to be a Ranger, and had conversations with the guy that wanted to stay here. Then, when Edmonton makes the offer for Vanek, you can atleast think it over instead. Atleast then, the Sabres would have taken a smaller hit losing just Drury
  12. He is not getting nearly enough blame because there is no proof that he has his hands in the decision making as much as fans want to believe. Maybe he is making the moves, but then he should also then given credit for the good, unless ofcourse all he does is make bad moves, and Regier only makes the good ones Regier has just as much blame, he likes his players too much and is just waiting for the day the NHL decides to try the "New NHL" again. As for Ruff, he can only do so much with what he is given, and with what Regier has given him, there aren't many coaches that would turn them into something competitive
  13. Damn straight! As a pollak, there is nothing more that my grandmother would love then for me to find a nice Polish girl to settle down with, lol And I will have off for the first time in a long time on Dyngus Day. God Bless working for a Municipal Government!
  14. I HATE Dane Cook, he is not even close to funny or entertaining and I would love to bash his skull in with a blunt object................. Sorry, I just hate that guy for some reason
  15. The only way that happens is if Buffalo can convince Denver that they are seriously taking Sanchez (although its more likely Denver would call their bluff on that) or if they could convince Denver that they are entertaining offers to trade down with someone else so they can take Sanchez, If Denver really wants him
  16. Then would the County give them more money if they held a home playoff game???
  17. That contract was for a player still developing and still able to move up the pay scale. If/When he gets that big contract, there not much higher he can go on the pay scale. Not saying he would or would not coast, but guys that are willing to sit when not getting there way are typically guys looking at their bank accounts first before caring about their play on the field, so its a little more likely he could coast or not try and overachieve if given a bigger deal
  18. Just to be a devils advocate, but even if the RB missed a chip block, the defensive player has already broke by the o-line and is in the backfield and going to the last line of defence for the offence, so its the same as if the QB was sacked and the RB was not supposed to block. The fact is, the defensive player beat the o-line player
  19. Its fan base is fine, but the revenue from that fan base is not the same as most other NFL Cities. They don't have the fan base/corporate backing to purchase the Luxury Boxes where the real revenue is made, and the fans to pay average NFL ticket prices. They make money now because Ralph keeps the prices affordable and has no debt to pay back with the team. Throw in a group that will be doing this to atleast make a small profit, and they might not be able to stay out of the red if they don't keep spending down or increase pricing for everything. There may be some investors in the area interested, but the kind of person(s) it would take to come up with themoney that an NFL franchise costs are not just a bunch of unknown nobodies
  20. But they are not walking high up over a body of water where it would be much colder with a little bit of wind
  21. I believe they already have those stores on the Canadian side, plus alot more to do there right now. There is a Harley Davidson Store on Clifton Hill, I believe theres a Levi's store in the outlet mall just down the road on Lundys Lane, and theres probably a disney store somewhere. It won't do much more for attracting Canadians over to the game, they already flock to OP and clog the Peace Bridge on home game Sundays, and is there really a big market in Asia for American Football? Europe has a bit of a market for it, but if they are really interested in the NFL, they would probably be willing to go the extra distance to OP to go to a game. Believing that a new stadium will revitalise a City is like beliving a Bass Pro will save one.......................
  22. Its kind of ghetto on the american side of the Falls, Scoob's probably just worried about parking his car there. People could steal it, sell it and buy many homes there for what its worth
  23. No, here in Canada its Defence. I didn't realise that the Internet is only for Americans, or that we can only speak your version of english here We might think they have glaring holes, but they think they are fine where they are right now. Their hole at LG they feel that they can use Chambers or Bell in one of those spots. The "hole" at DE isn't really a hole, they have enough DE's to play, its just that everyone wants an upgrade at that spot, which they feel that they can either do in the draft, or just by Schobel returning. They have TE's on the roster, and also feel they can upgrade that spot in the draft. They signed a LB, already on FA, and only have to replace one LB, Crowell, so they really don't have a hole there either, just a possible upgrade that they can possibly do in the draft There really isn't much left out there that would be worth signing as an upgrade to what they already have at the position and that they can fit under the cap/cash to cap
  24. Why are they giving up different amounts? Trades don't happen that way. The Bills would make a deal with KC to aquire his rights, and then they would be able to renegotiate a deal. KC's compensaion would only be for whatever is left on TG's current deal. After that, compensation to KC would not be determined on the length of any deal. If not, why wouldn't the Bills make the deal for the lower picks, and then sign him to a longer term later in the season
  25. Also, its about 99% likely they are done until after the draft. They made their big signing and blew their load on TO. They won back most of the people who gave up their seasons (or atleast replaced the ones hey lost, and are making money now on jersey sales so they are content going into the year with what they have and what they can get in the draft
