  1. This is coming from a guy who in almost every post in the last little while has told us about how nothing big is ever going to happen because Ralph is too cheap and old? Now you are basically saying that anything can happen and everyone should just wait and see what the outcome will be? You are right though, Who knows what will happen, chances are, half the people here will be unhappy cause whatever they do, it wasn't what they thought was best, and alot of these "rumors" being thrown out now will be proven false. There are very few people that know exactly whats going on except for the people making the decisions, and most of these "reports" are just guys trying to get their names out there throwing out what they think will happen hoping they will be "proven" right
  2. Lets see, he made it longer then Kendall Simmons, Brad Butler, Seth Mckinnie, etc.
  3. Orton? PASS He couldn't make it in Chicago so they ran out and dealt Denver alot to get Cutler, now after 1 season, Denver is giving up on him? That should be a huge sign to all that he is not what the Bills need right now. Atleast Troy Smith has potential and the reason he isn't starting right now is because the Ravens just found someone who was even better.
  4. Matt Moore isn't leaving Carolina, Delhomme will be, and Jackson will more then likely be back behind centre for the Vikings next season when Favre retires for the millionth time
  5. I know that most fans wouldn't support Tressman from the Allouettes of the CFL, but he might actually be a good choice. He has NFL coaching experience and has had some great success as a Head Coach in the CFL. Whats the difference between getting one fo the better CFL coaches, or a College coach? Fans might not like it cause its not a big NFL name, but it could be the best option. As for the TV studio comment, he is there for a couple days a week (maybe 2-3?) working, as a coach he is there working 7 days, with LONG hours so being close to home is a huge advantage to most with a family and that kind of work. If you are a big time head coach, why do you need to show off and be a saviour/legend. Cowher already is basically a legend in Pittsburgh and is more then likely already a HOF coach with nothing left to prove to the league. He had a long tenure as a HC in Pittsburgh and built a great team that has one the big game, whats left?
  6. The move did exactly what it was supposed to do, sell tickets and merchandise. I have been saying it since the moment he signed. It was a buisness move to get fans back after the fans started giving the team heat for keeping Jauron and extending his contract. It was a win win on both sides. The Bills keep fans buying season tickets and jerseys, and TO gets on a team for the season to show he can still play and be a good team player. The Front office knew they weren't going to be Super Bowl contenders this season, and knew fans were angry with the end of last season. They were hoping that the team was good enough to atleast make a push for the playoffs and if all went well, maybe TO might give them that extra push to the post season too. TO did just enough to get through the year as a "good team player" and hopes that it can get him a contract that he can end his career with. The move did exactly what it was meant to do, put butts in the seats for another season
  7. Vick will not be dealt, cause no one is going to want him for the 6 mil that the Eagles will have to pay for his rights next season. They would have to accept the 6 mil option on him to try and trade him, and the Eagles haven't "showcased" him well enough that teams would be willing to trade for him and take on the salary. Of those choices, Troy Smith has the best upside and could be a good pickup option to compete with Brohm. Campbell may need a change of scenery but it a big risk to be a bust, and it would all depend on what Derek Anderson you get in the deal. Anderson of 2 years ago, not a bad deal, the last 2 seasons, not worth it. As for Bulger, hes a veteran, but he has also taken a beating over the last couple years.
  8. Obviously Brady is a much better QB, it has to be true cause he was voted into the Pro Bowl and only the best make the Pro Bowl, or atleast thats the arguement for Jason Peters. He made the Pro bowl so obviously he is the best
  9. My point is that for those saying that because his team sucks he shouldn't have to care or give full effort, he should be a proffesional and play for his salary. It doesn't matter if the team is 1-15 or 15-1, you are being payed MILLIONS to play a game for a living, anything less then 100% effort all the time is unacceptable for a Proffesional. Thats one of the problems in Pro Sports, its too bad that they all couldn't be paid based on performance, you would see alot more players giving full effort and playing to potential if it affected their salaries
  10. Only 1 team has done this so far, and that Washington hiring Allen, Holmgren has said he will not start working and take the position until the day after the browns last game. And what does it matter? Its not like he can start signing Free Agents or make trades right now anyways. And if someone is interested and wanted to get to work early, they can watch TV and check players stats out now like all of the fans here do while dreaming that they think they can be an NFL GM. Maybe the guys they are interested in are still a part of a team that is playing right now? They can't talk to those guys until the season is ovwer anyways. A couple extra weeks aren't going to matter at this point cause besides watching some practices, and some games from a luxury box, they can't do much else as far as personel moves
  11. Maybe because he is still coaching and they can't contact him, or be mentioned that they will be contacting him cause he is still employed to a team that is still playing right now Also too, he isn't Bill Cowher or a coach who has won a SB before (and ran the unbeatable must have 3-4 defence)
  12. Aren't they right accross from the top notch proven Head Coaches, and a couple aisles down from the guaranteed "non-bust" draft picks? I know they aren't near the register with the "football genius" GM's...................
  13. Yeah, cause Polian and the Colts have benn know to have so many Pro Bowl QB's sitting behind Manning.................
  14. And the Bills can do whatever to try and get those coaches, but the coaches also have to want to come here to coach. The top coaches usually have MANY teams interested and have the option to chose what suits them best. Cowher, Dungy, they both walked away from the game, and can wait to find a job that suits them and their families best. They have nothing left to prove, so they can wait for the best situation and don't have to "take what they can get"
  15. Take away Manning from the Colts and what do you have? But of course, the only reason that the Colts have manning is because of Polian, right?
  16. What Job in Tampa? Last time I checked they still had a Head Coach who beat the NFC's best team yesterday and looking better each week now. No guarantee he is gone after next week And as for Carolina, they just beat the Vikings and Giants in 2 straight weeks, and have just proven that the problem was Delhomme.
  17. well, Hardy did spend most of year 2 recovering from an injury, I would give him atleast another year healthy before worrying about him being a bust AS for maybin, he was a rookie that was projected as being a guy that may not be able to step in right away and could be more of a "project type" player that will have huge rewards if he reaches his potential. Unfortunatly Bills fans have zero patients for a player right now and want success right away. Its his rookie year, fans in Houston weren't happy with Mario Williams after his first year and regretted the team taking him 1st overall, it took him a couple years to get to where he is today, and he played alot in his first season, and he didn't miss almost all of training camp like Maybin
  18. Well, the report yesterday said his top choices were Tampa or Carolina, both teams that already have coaches If Carolina keeps Fox, then that leaves Tampa, where they have a coach who has only been in place for 1 year and just beat the NFC's top team yesterday and slowly improving. He left coaching on his own terms from a Very good situation, and he still has his job working the desk at CBS, so the situation has to be right for him. Its not like he needs the money, or needs to still prove something in the league. If the situation is right for him and his family, he might make the jump back into coaching
  19. Ralph has already shown he was willing to do this when he put Donahoe in charge, and when that ended up blowing up in the teams face, he steppedback in and took control back because of the mess his team became. Now, it looks like he is trying to dothat again as he has made it clear they are looking for a "football Guy" to be in charge, i.e. the search for a GM Unfortunatly, for most, whatever the choice is, it won't be good enough for the fans and there will always be someone else out there better
  20. Are you saying this wasn't all part of Bill "the GM God" Polians plan? That he made a mistake in Painter? Blasphmy!!!!!!
  21. Keep thinking that without Rqalph Wilson and his "Zero Debt" team that Buffalo is a viable NFL market just cause the fans show up. If it wasn't for a smart marketing move (i.e. bringing in TO), the would be joinging Jacksonville in competing for most balkouts this year. Remember all the Season ticket holders declining to renew their season tickets until TO was signed? I don't dispise the City of Buffalo, I'm a Bills and Sabres fan, but I don't blindly see the City as being a place that is economically viable for most pro sports, and I'm appreciative that somone has atleast been willing to keep a NFL team here near by when he could have moved them to somewhere financially better. I'm not going to demand he sell his team to someone not at top dollar just cause they might be able to keep them here for a few seasons. I'm also not anxiously awaiting his death just so I can see a new owner step in. As for your views on Toronto, what do you expect? The stadium is really bad for football, and just like alot of cities, they don't normally support something that isn't theirs. Why would the average Torontonian care about the Bills and support them at inflated prices knowing that they are doing it for someone else and not for them? Then throw in the fact that the team is not that good? Would you come out and pay 3-4x's the cost for Blue Jays tickets in Toronto if they decided to play a couple games in Buffalo every year? Yes Ralph is fortunate to have a stadium that was publically funded and fans willing to buy tickets to a team that hasn't been to the playoffs in 10 years. Its not like other teams in the league have this kind of support (too bad for places like Cleveland, Kansas City, Oakland.......). But the City of Buffalo is just as fortunate to have an owner who has very little debt and is content just to breakeven and not need to compete with the Jones, Krafts, and Snyders in the league when it comes to their "toys" For everyone saying they are sick of hearing this, the same can be said for all the whiners who feel they are entitled to having a "winning team" every year just cause they support the team and that its a right to have an NFL team in their region. No one is forcing you to stay a fan, if its so terrible, become a fan of a team that is run like the way you want. You will find your life is much less stressful and much happier
  22. But what if Cowher was hired before a new GM??????????????????
  23. manning is just a meaningless Cog on their team that Bill "The GM God" could replace with a 7th rounder. Bill Polian is just that good and irreplaceable
  24. Pfft, Offence doesn't matter You have to have a dominating 3-4 defence to win in this league. Then, as long as the O-line is dominant, everything else can be filled with mediocre talent and Fred jackson
  25. Have you read any other posts on this board? Maybin was already declared a wasted pick the moment he was drafted and not immediatly named to the Pro Bowl
