Ah, they get a free scholarship to a school that most of those players probably couldn't get into if they didn't get a scholarship. College isn't cheap, and most of those players are there for free. Taking advantage of the free ride at a good college is something that the player needs to take advantage of. The reason why they are there is to play football, a perk for them is that they can get a free education as a backup if the football career doesn't work out. If they get hurt or the football career doesn't work out, they can pay for an education just like I had to do without a sports scholarship. As for the injury thing, thats one of the risk associated with playing the game, you take that risk to get a big reward (possibly making the NFL)

What's John Clayton's track record?

The reports coming out are saying that Cowher DOES NOT want that, he just wants to coach -

cowher now linked to the houston texans
apuszczalowski replied to loyal2dagame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any team that MAY change coaches this offseason will be linked to Bills Cowher until they step up and make their decision. I'm sure somewhere, at sometime, a Cowher to NE rumor will be started. He also more then likely, won't sign on to a team immediatly, he will go through all his options, meet with all of them, and chose the team that best suits him and his family. Its a luxury he has at this time. He is the biggest name out there right now on the coaching market...... -
Sorry, but its up to the athlete to graduate. Most of them are given free rides to come play sports for the school. Its not the schools fault if they don't take advantage of the free ride. Most of these athletes are only at the school for the sport, and they wouldn't have made it in there without being a great athlete

Billick, Brian S, Rivera....what happened to Cowher?

Cowher has already said he will not interview for ANY TEAM until the season is over, so they can't even have him in until Monday at the earliest -
Bills interviewing Marty's son for HC
apuszczalowski replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love how when it came to Nix being hired, everyone complained cause they didn't interview as many canidates as they could outside the organisation, yet now that they are interviewing a bunch of guys outside the organisation for the HC job, people still complain. I think this just proves it, Bills fans will never be happy -
But the media and the public doesn't care about you creating a cure for cancer, we are talking about NFL Football here! Remember, we live in a society that let a long running war get pushed to the middle/end of a newscast so they could lead off the show with coverage of the ongoing "death of a pedophile Michael Jackson"

Guess who doesn't like the move?
apuszczalowski replied to RayFinkle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry, but the hard time is given to Quinn, Regier is typically given a pass by most fans And the only part of the Toronto deal thats a fiasco is for Rogers, Buffalo made $78 million out of that deal, Its not the Bills organisation thats losing money playing there, its Rogers losing the money. So making $78 million for playing a few games out of the region is a boneheaded move? Add to that the fact that Brandon managed to win back fans and have a record number of season tickets sold this year after the fans were canceling their tickets this offseason cause of another 7-9 no playoff year and DJ being brought back. FOR THE LAST TIME, BRANDON MADE SOME BAD "FOOTBALL PERSONEL" MOVES, BUT HE MADE SOME GREAT BUISNESS MOVES AND THATS WHAT HIS JOB IS AND WHAT HE WAS "PROMOTED" FOR REMOVING THE FOOTBALL DECISION FROM HIS POSITION. -
How much do you like this outdoor hockey?
apuszczalowski replied to ProjectPat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't really think its gaining momentum, its seems to me its actually going in the opposite direction. There just seemed to me like there was no hype to this game. I am on TSN's website (Canadian ESPN basically) daily and it was hardly a topic except for maybe one article about the ice making trucks making its way to Boston, and this is a website that will cover anything Hockey as its main headline. I don't remember any commercials promoting this game, it just seems like its something that is not relevent if your not already a big hockey fan. And yes i saw Dennis Leary, and he looked horrible. Maybe it was just cause I was watching in HD, but his face looked well aged to say it nicely -

I heard it for Kessel, being an ex-Bruin I guess doesn't make the fans happy? I thought I also heard it quietly for a few others. -
Saw it Tuesday in Hamilton, one of my x-mas presents from my girlfriend. it was something that I always wanted to go see from just the commercials, and they always rave about it on the local radio station. They always bill it as a "holiday metal show you can take your grandma to" on the radio. I don't know, maybe its just mine, but I can't picture and 80+ year old polish woman joining me for that concert, lol It was incredible though, found out afterwards that a bunch of people I know went too. I just bought "Night Castle", "The Lost Christmas Eve" and "Christmas Eve and other stories" on Wednesday Definitly a show I would recomend to anyone and can see how its a yearly tradition for people

Meh, I watch, but thats more to do with having Canadian Blood in me I think its something that is losing it "special" attraction and is going to get old fast Personally, I think if you are going to do it every year, keep it on New Years day and make it the All Star Game. Why does the All Star game always have to be at the mid point of the season? -
Cowher Signs at Stadium
apuszczalowski replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But for that to work, points have to be scored, and with the highly likely chance that Peyton will be warm in teh press box with most other starters, and the current Bills offence, your better off putting up a sign near where they can catch it on tv when they show the punters warming up -
Would Everyone Take...................

The only QB leaving Philly next year is Vick, and it won't be by a trade. Vick is not under contract to Philly next year, they have an OPTION on a second year for Vick that the Eagles would have to take on to keep him under contract which will give him a huge raise and give him starter money. If the Eagles pick up this option, no team will trade for Vick with that salary after barely seeing him play this season. No team is going to give up more then a 6th or 7th for Vick this offseason making what he would make if the Eagles picked up the option If Kolb is moved, its cause the Eagles don't view him as a starting QB. Mcnabb won't being playing forever and may only have a couple seasons left as a starter, if they feel Kolb is starting material, McNabb would be moved first and it will be a similar situation as GB except hopefully without all the retirements -

And in a couple years, the Bills could have a great pass rusher on the roster. Give the Maybin bashing a rest, he was never supposed to just step in and dominate in his first season, especially after he missed sll of training camp. Not all players step in during their first year and make a difference. I have said it many times before, Fans of the Texans thought the team made a mistake taking Mario Williams 1st overall over Reggie Bush, its too bad the team didn't listen to the fans . So what about taking Maybin, the rest of the draft brought in Levitre, Wood and PROBOWLER Jairius Byrd. The Bills should have fired Nix instead of giving him the GM position cause he took Maybin -

apuszczalowski replied to Whitner20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But you are assuming he is someone who feels he still needs to "establish his legacy" He left on his own terms from Pittsburgh. He doesn't have anything to prove in this league and is set financially as he can stay working the TV gig for a long time making almost as much money as a coach for alot less work. You assume that he needs/wants the money, and he already is a winner, he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone, this is just Bills fans trying to rationalise why they think he should take the Buffalo job over anywhere else. If coaches care so much about turning around messes of franchises to establish legacies, why aren't coaches knocking down the door at OBD to take this prime position? Cowher doesn't need the money, and he doesn't need to do anything to establish his legacy. If/when he comes back, it will be because it suits him and his family the best -
Jesse Combs is on Mythbusters now???? Man, I used to watch her every week on Xtreme 4x4 on Spike TV during "the Powerblock" (The place Danica Patrick started out hosting before they brought in the original female cohost from Overhauling). She is cute, and she likes Jeeps/4x4's and can wrench on vehicles/weld too. It sucks that she left, I heard she was doing some Motorcross show I still think the red head original is the best from Mythbusters

I would go to see it in 3d just cause of the effects, but I have heard from many that the plot and movie itself was alright at best

Another dead wrestler... Dr Death Steve Williams

Is anyone going to blame the Cancer on steroids? It was a wrestler death I remember him from the 90's, didn't he do some MMA type fights too or am I mistaking him for someone else?
