  1. Those 2 teams that didn't make the playoffs were also the last 2 teams to win the Super Bowl Oh, and the third team was a team that fought hard to make hte playoffs and then lost to one of the hottest teams in the league right now being coached by another guy Bills fans ran right out of town
  2. 1. There is no proof anywhere besides some rumors, that he was offered $10 mil from Buffalo, or even offered a contract from Buffalo. The only thing that was true was that they met with Shanahan 2.Brian did say no thanks to an interiew with Buffalo, he says he is happy where he is, and maybe he really is. His Dad has turned everyone down, he said he is done coaching and wants to stay retired. 3. He did? He hasn't said anything to Buffalo 4. Good for them, he was someone they wanted, and he wanted the job of "Football Czar" their. He wanted total and complete control, not to just be a coach, or just a GM (where he wasn't anything special and had that position removed from him) 5. The Bills have interviewed Fewell, and spoke with Cowher and Shanahan. They have interviewed Frazier who many have called a top co-ordinator to become a HC, and Grimm is also supposed to interview with them, and he has also been a top choice to move up to the HC position THE BILLS HAVE ONLY BEEN TURNED DOWN TWICE. ONCE BY SHANAHAN WHO WAS ALREADY RUMORED TO TAKE OVER THE HC POSITION IN WASHINGTON ONCE IT BECAME AVAILABLE, AND SHOTTENHEIMER WHO WANTS TO STAY WITH THE JETS
  3. The only FA's they can sign are their own, and street FA/CFL/UFL players. The Bills can still do that cause they have a GM, and if they go after a player, they know what kind of coach/team they are going after so they can get players that they know might fit. And with little openings in the NFL coaching ranks aside from Buffalo, so most teams already have their co-ordinators in place
  4. Co-ordinator or other coaching staff positions? Back up in case "their Man" changes his mind?
  5. You don't have to be a co-ordinator to be a Head Coach, they are different positions that require different things, and its the reason why Head Coaches have Co-ordinators. The thing is that the path usual goes positions coach to co-ordinator to Head Coach. The Head Coach doesn't have to deal with the X's and O's of the game like the co-ordinators do, they need to be the motivators and game planners. They assemble the staff of guys to do the X's and O's stuff for them and call the games. Grimm is well respected and usually his name comes up as a candidate for HC jobs whenever ones available, so most of the league sees him as a possible HC even without the co-ordinator experience
  6. And Ralph offers you the cheapest tickets in the league to an NFL football game, so I guess you get what you pay for
  7. He tried that bringing in Donahoe, who at the time was a highly touted football guy, fans were all over this move too, and it flopped, thats why Ralph stepped back in to take over control of his team
  8. Do you realise that the NFL also has to accept the new owners? and they don't allow "public ownership", GB is the only one and thats been "grandfathered" in and won't happen again. Its Ralphs team and his money, he can do with it what he wants, and he wants to keep it til he is on his death bed.
  9. I always thought she looked more like Ma'am from Webster
  10. So having a guy come in for a "no chance" interview just to fill a quota is helping minorities? It isn't like the CFL where they require that a % of players must be Canadian, saying that a % of your coaching staff must be a minority. All this rule does is wastes the time of a front office and a minority candidate having to come in for a "dummy" interview to fill the quota. I have my doubts that the "Rooney Rule" has actually helped a minority candidate get a job
  11. I just don't think that Zimmer deserves a chance as a HC right now just because he was "decent" without much talent on D. IF he had stopped the Jets or looked really good keeping them very close, I would say he might deserve a chance, but theres much better choices out there that would be less "rolls of the dice"
  12. Hangartner is not a problem right now and is good enough, Wood can eventually move over if/when Hangartner leaves when his contract is up LT is definitly an area that needs improvement. Also, that Jets o-line wasn't built overnight and took years to get to where it is today, how many years have Mangold and Fergussen been in the league now?
  13. I definitly think that Baltimore and the jets are really kicking themselves for not taking the "proven HC' and going with unknown co-ordinators right now
  14. And if all but 2 of them got hurt this year and put on IR, and force to be replaced by street FA's cause the replacements keep getting hurt, you would have the Bills offesive line. Lets look at the Bills starting OLine from this season Butler - RT drafted by the Bills Wood - RG drafted in the first by the Bills Hangartner - UFA from Carolina Levitre - LG drafted by the Bills in the 2nd Bell - LT drafted by the Bills very late, but supposed to be very athletic and take some time to develop into a LT The biggest problem with the Bills o-line this year was that it was just so ravaged with injuries, as backups went down on IR and then even their replacements were put on IR. Improving the LT spot and getting some sort of machine that will protect players from injury and heal them quickly are about all thats needed to improve the o-line at this point, without giving them some time to get more experience. Next year if you keep the line the same and add in a rookie LT you will have 3 players on the line with 1 season or less in the NFL (LT, Wood, Levitre)
  15. the Bills have talent on the defence? Reading the board here I would say most would disagree with you.
  16. He has had one bad year his short career so far and fans act like he is a complete bust who has done nothing. He has been to the Pro Bowl and the fastest Bill to reach 2,000 yards in his career. You don't think a team would give a 2nd for that?
  17. If thats the case though, why not just keep Fewell? You have basically described the bills and their defence there. Atleast Fewell already knows the players and has things in place here.
  18. This has already been discussed and there are quotes from the front office that explain this. Buddy Nix and his staff will interview the guys on their list of candidates. They will then chose their top 2-3 choices to Ralph Wilson. They will then discuss the choice with Ralph and make a decision together. So what that Nix hasn't hired a coach in his life, he has been around football along time and has been around alot of good coaches. What makes the fans think they know more then an owner who has been around for over 50 years and guys who are actually employed by NFL teams?
  19. I definitly think the line needs more rookies infront of mediocre QBing. The Bills losing is all the defences fault anyway cause of the Tampa 2. You always draft linemen, offence or defence, early every year. Franchise QB's are a dime a dozen late in the draft, just look at Brady, no need to say more. First round QB's never work out. Just look at the Manning Brothers, Rivers, Rothelisburger, Flacco, Palmer, etc. First Round linemen are quaranteed unlike the QB's who are crap shoots, just ask Mike Williams
  20. yeah, cause sitting behind Favre taught Rogers nothing. Sitting behind Collins didn't help Vince Young. I'm sure sitting behind McNabb has not helped Kolb (a guy everyone wants here). Is it possible Brady learned anything sitting behind Bledsoe, or Cassel learned anything sitting behind Brady? After today, we should be able to see what sitting behind Warner has done for Leinart. Yeah, it never helps young QB's to sit on the bench in behind a solid veteran QB that they can learn things from.
  21. But if they keep saying they want him, then he will come. Maybe when Cowher says no they can put up another billboard asking for Marty Plus, Marty has never actually said "No I will not come back out of retirement to coach Buffalo", he has said pretty much everything else though, and since him and Buddy are good buddies, all Nix has to do is give him a call and he is here, just like all Ralph has to do is offer Cowher a ton of money and he is here
  22. A heaping soft pile of LT greatness you mean, right?
  23. The point to bringing in McNabb would be to "teach" and mentor a young QB and groom him into the starter. The biggest issue is if McNabb would accept that role, likely he will want to go to a contendor to get a SB, if he is on the trading block at all
  24. For a season or 2 til a "QB of the future/Brohm" is ready to take over, sure, I would make a deal. Right now the Bills need a good experienced veteran to help build the offence for the "QB of the future", but would he want to come to a rebuilding team to teach, or would he rather go to a contendor. Its hard to say if the vikings would want to go that route again for another SB push if Favre can't get them there. Owens will not be a Bill unless No one else in the league wants him. I don't know if the Eagles would be so eager to dump McNabb though, but if they do, Kolb will be the guy to take over, they won't be dealing him if McNabb will be leaving soon (unless they already know he won't be a starter in the league). If any QB on the Eagles roster is moved, its Vick. The Eagles are not going to pick up his option that would give him starter money after they barely used him this year
  25. I would take Fewell back if it was between those two. BS still hasn't impressed me enough as an OC to warrant making him a HC of a team with a dismal Offence
