  1. The word when they made the offer was that it was part of the deal, and the only way he was going to leave Pittsburgh. The GM in Pittsburgh is almost as young, and not going anywhere. Buffalos offer was the best option for him cause of Nix's age and that they wanted him as the 'GM of the future"
  2. What I find really confusing with these kind of deals with RFA is that its more advantageous for winning teams that draft very late to make these moves (like NO or Indy this year) then the worst teams that could use the extra help (Detroit, Stl, KC). Basically it costs more for the Rams to get him, giving up the #1 overall pick, then the Saints who would be giving up the last pick of the round
  3. They could work out a deal for a trade with Buffalo. Its what happens alot of the time in these cases. The Bills will work out a deal with the player and make a deal with his team for a trade of different compensation
  4. He was I ordered my Miller jersey from DHgate just before the game. I think I was the only Canadian not cheering for the Canadian team to win gold. I predicted a US gold against the Russians (with Canada taking bronze) before the olympics even started. I think some people at work were ready to try and get me fired for not wanting to see the Canadians get gold. I won't refer to them as Team USA though, Miller carried that team and was the only reason they had a chance for a medal, so they will always be Team Miller to me. I have also never liked Crosby once the Pens won him (were gift wrapped to the Pens by the league) instead of Buffalo and still think Ovechkin has more talent
  5. I wasn't saying they have great depth at LBer, but they are more set at that position then almost any other spot on this team, and Nix even said, it can't all be fixed in one off season. LB is not a need right now, they have plenty of guys who can play it, and the talk is to play more of a hybrid 3-4 / 4-3 defence depending on the personel they have, so having 4-3 DE's that can play LB in the 3-4 is going to help. The focus has to be on the offence first or else theres no point in even playing this year cause they will be lucky to do any better then last year. Almost every other position except kicker and DB are psoitions needing upgrading over LB
  6. The whole reason he signed with the Bills was because he was told he will get the position when Nix Retires. He is basically there to work with Nix and learn a little more/gain some more experience and then get the job
  7. Wasn't his production in the top 10 for the Bills all time for WR's? He wasn't flashy and had previous problems with drops, but he was decent and a pretty goos 3rd/4th WR for the Bills
  8. The same place everyone gets the idea that Whitner is horrible and has no trade value I would make the deal as a Bills fan, and I'm not one of the fans that want to see Whitner (or Lynch) run from the team There is an abundance of Safeties and CBs on the Bills roster, compared to the big lack of quality WRs on the team
  9. There are already too many LBer's on this team. the focus needs to be on the offence, and the D-line this year.
  10. had this happened before the season and before rosters were already set, I would agree. But during the season its a bit more difficult to have to cut someone already familiar with your system to bring in a guy to take a look at What I don't get is why so many people will just throw someone away as garbage without seeing them play, just cause they aren't a starter already. No one knows what Brohm or Hamdan can do, neither have been given much of a shot even though both have a pretty decent past record in college or NFLE
  11. I would have to disagree with that. Some Dogs (Pitbulls, Rotties, German Sheppards) could fight back and have been known to kill humans before. And Animals is a broad statement, I'm sure a Bear, Lion, Tiger, Hippo, Alligator, etc could hold there own against an attack
  12. The Eagles aren't going to trade Kolb??? In other new relevant news, the sky is Blue, and water is wet
  13. Yes it is. If it wasn't, you wouldn't have teams selecting guys like Ryan Leaf, or Mike Williams for example. Those were players that were expected to be worthy of being chosen in the first round, and are now Busts. Its also how you end up with guys like Brady, not being picked until very late in the draft, or going undrafted and being Pro Bowlers
  14. Don't know if they are really spending much more then usual or not, alot of these guys aren't going to command huge salaries due to lack of pro experience, but for once in a long time, the Bills are focusing on bringing in coaches to help teach players instead of just bringing in guys and expecting them to know what to do. They are also bringing in guys that all have experience with, and have the same philosophies
  15. Wasn't Levitre a Tackle before? maybe move him outside and then pick up another Guard? RT was not a huge problem for the o-line last year. One of the biggest problems with buffalos o-line was that there was absolutly no continuity on it, and it got to the point where street free agents were starting because every week they needed to a replacement for one of the spots. One of the most important things for an o-line is that they have to be cohesive and play as if they were one Out ofthe list of FA, Walker, Gandy or Mike Williams may be the better ones available, and all were at one point dumped by the Bills so they may not be interested in coming back
  16. Because Trent has had a chance and has proven that his only success comes when he dumps the ball off short, like Kelly "Dink & Dunk" Holcomb. Trent as a backup, sure, they could do worse. Thigpen would be a better option for a starter then Edwards, cause as you said, Chan has already had success with the guy on a Bad KC team The Bills don't have towaste a pick on a "project" QB of the future in the mid to late draft, they already have that in Brohm. Brohm was a 2nd rounder who hasn't been given a shot yet to show what he can do. His 1 start came a few weeks after he was given a completly new offence to learn, and a new team to get used to. Draft a QB early in the draft that can start right away like Flacco, Ryan, or Sanchez have, or make a deal for a proven veteran like McNabb. Someone like Vick, Campbell, thigpen, etc are all second tier options as stop gaps with bigger upside
  17. Didn't you guys hear, he is going to Cincy, Ocho said so. He even said he will take a pay cut, but Owens is as good as signed in Cincinati
  18. Does the NFL work the waiver wires like Hockey does? The worst teams have first rights to the available players? That may explain why bad teams always seem to get players off waivers since they get first choice at them
  19. Can't say that I have, and can't say that that is an excuse
  20. Reed is a FA, it would be Hardy and Stevie (HOFer) Johnson!
  21. I don't think anything I have read have said the Bills expressed interest in McNabb, just that the 3 teams expressed interest in one of their QBs. McNabb and even Vick might be enough to hold the fort for a couple of seasons to allow the team to develop Brohm, or a new drafted QB instead of just throwing them to the wolves.
  22. I was a little sick watching him running up behind the HOFer carrying the trouphy and waving his pom-poms around like he single handedly carried the Saints to the SB. If it wasn't for his "injury" and the cheap late hit, I wouldn't have even known he played in the game. I think alot of this is that he is a former Bill who got into the spotlight during a big game so fans make him out to be better then he was. The other thing that made me sick was hearing the owner go on about the city of NO. If it wasn't for a natural disaster focusing on your teams location, and basically getting your stadium renovated on the governments dime becuase it was destroyed, the team would be somewhere else right now. He was trying to move them while they were relocated during the rebuild after the huricane. Now that they are champs, he is praising the city and its people
  23. I think whats really sad is seeing that the Saints and Lions, 2 teams that have been in the NFL for a long time, had never been to a Super Bowl yet.
  24. As a QB coach? Sure, why not, he could be a good coach and mentor considering his entire career has been because of his football mind rather then physical ability and for the few that have said Garica, why not just ask Kelly if he would come back and play, I think they are probably around the same age, and may have seen the same amount of in game NFL snaps last season
  25. Xavier Omon, A-Train, The veteran they picked up when Fred Taylor passed on them this offseason......... More proof that its just so easy to find better RB's later in the draft and FA then Lynch
