I thought everything on PBS was a pledge drive show...... -
Miami is probably doubtful they give up on their coach who exceeded everyone's expectations this year with that mess of a roster. NE only looks for a new coach if BB steps down/retires Browns are looking for a HC right now, unless it's another cluster*****, I doubt they make another change so soon instead of trying for some continuity Raiders gave Gruden a 10 year deal and he is barely 1/4 of the way through it. Again I doubt the Giants or Cowboys make changes after finding a new HC this offseason The Panthers signed their new coach to a 7 year deal, doubt they dump him after only 1 year.

Bills add K/P Kaare Vedvik to the futures signings.
apuszczalowski replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was supposed to have had a real good training camp/preseason with the Ravens last offseason but was apparently attacked at a bar just before the start of the season and IRd, he was traded to the Vikings this year around the time the Bills played them in the Preseason, he bombed and was released, then picked up for week 1 by the Jets where he was the kicker that missed all the FGs helping the Bills beat the Jets and was later released where I don't think he was picked up afterwards He is a Punter & Kicker that teams seem to think can maybe do both for them. I believe most of his game action has been as a kicker over punter -
He was being mentioned, along with their DC, may be that teams scrambled to sign guys after others were snapped up and they don't want to wait for Roman to be available. Might also be that he isn't interested in moving again?

Pretty much the whole reason the Bills beat the Jets in week 1....... -
Should season ticket holders protest?
apuszczalowski replied to Rocbillsfan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's because it doesn't happen every week, players either give the fair catch signal before they catch it, kneel it down if they don't want to run it out after catching it, or just run away out of the endzone Nd let it hit the ground so it's dead. It's why no one has been able to provide any video of a kickoff being caught in the endzone where a player didn't do atleast on of those things before giving the ball to a ref. He obviously didn't signal or let the ref know his intent to not run the ball out on that kick or else the ref wouldnt have left the ball alone and called it a TD. If he gave an acceptable signal for a fair catch, or let the ref know that he was not planning on running it out, the ref would have blown it dead right away. -

Why would a player drop the football before being completely into the end zone? I'm not part of this argument saying this cost the Bills the game or should mean the game be over turned or whatever, I'm only commenting cause it doesn't appear the rules were followed like they should have been and as someone said earlier, if referees can now make calls based on 'common sense' and intent, that opens up Pandora's box on how the games played. Referees have a hard enough time making calls based on what's written in the rule books, now they can make those rulings based on what they feel the player intended to do? Common sense says that John Brown made the catch while he was still in bounds and intended to get his feet down before going out of bounds, guess that play should have been called a catch. As also mentioned before, all those times where a player is all alone running into the endzone but dropped the ball just before actually getting in, those should all be ruled as TDs because common sense says the player would have scored and intended to drop the ball in the endzone and not before it. From the written words in the NFL rule book, the original call by the Refs appears to have been correct that the ball was live in the endzone and a TD since the player did not take a knee or give the signal for a fair catch. We have seen this happen with the victory formation near the end of a game where common sense says the team on offence is intending to just kneel and down the ball and instead roll out and run a trick play. I guess the refs should blow those plays dead because of common sense and intent? The player could have just as easily moved out of the way and let the ball hit the ground in the endzone instead of catching it if he didn't intend on running it out, the ball is now ruled automatically dead once it touches the endzone on a kick. If a player catches it, he either has to give himself up or can run it out because the ball is now live. The rules include the wording about advancing the football because a player can fall to the ground or kneel while diving forward to extend the play. This is why they want QBs to slide feet first to give themselves, otherwise they would be taught to start dropping to your knees while diving forward cause you get extra yardage and possibly a penalty for a late hit if someone tries to stop you going forward since your giving yourself up -
College Admission Scandals Have Been Going on Forever

Does she get a discount for only needing enough 'training' to get through a week behind bars for a multi year sentence? Hopefully her husband and kids didn't pay anyone extra to forge some records and get her into this training over someone more deserving....... -

Do you get to watch the 45 minute show in less then 3 hours with all the interruptions from the overly prozaced hosts trying to get you to pay hundreds of dollars for a 'donation' to get a tote bag and Blu ray copy of the show? -
I have said it since the trade that Murrays problems were Making the trades, it was that he always overpaid in them. He seemed to be someone who would get excited for a certain player and just run to the other team with a blank check telling them to fill in the amount. Everyone knew Buffalo was one of the only teams that would be able to trade for Kane and give up something the Jets could use for the playoffs at the deadline knowing Kane would not play the rest of the year. He should have been using that to his advantage and gotten alot more for what he gave up or gotten the deal done for alot less. The other players/picks that were given up could have been used as assetts in another deal later on. Getting Lehner was not a bad move either, but knowing that Ottawa had to dump one of them, should have been getting him for a 3rd or 4th with his injury history and still being an unknown commodity at this point.

Ricky Gervais nailed it!! Golden Globe opening
apuszczalowski replied to BringBackFergy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Not saying he is wrong, but Gervais is such a pompous ass, he just goes around acting holier then everyone while complaining about everyone else doing the same. He has to get buy on 'shock value' because he has nothing else anymore. -
I would argue less about the Bills losing because they were screwed by the refs and more about an offence that struggled to get 20 points against one of the worst passing defences in the league. Very few defences are regularly going to hold teams to less then 20 points in a game, and penalties are called all the time against (almost) all teams on the league affecting games.

Josh needs to work on the fumbling

None of them should have counted because common sense says that Allen didn't intend to fumble the ball in those situations......... -

You are right, judges all the time make common sense rulings on cases all the time. Rules and laws are only written by lawyers and legal teams cause they are cheaper then anyone else. Attempted murder? Why is that even a possibility, common sense says that the person was trying to kill someone else so why don't they just convict them of what they were intending to do? -

apuszczalowski replied to Rocbillsfan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So what you want is for officials to start making calls based on what they feel someone intends to do? Well the QB was being tackled behind the LOS and the ball came loose, but common sense says he was trying to throw it away so it's an incomplete catch even though he never threw the ball.... -

apuszczalowski replied to Rocbillsfan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well reading that rule, there is an AND in there after falling to the ground OR taking a knee and making no effort to advance. In my line of work, dealing with a document that is written in legal jargon, the word AND would mean that it it needs to be used in conjunction with whatever comes before it. So in this case, they would need to kneel or fall down while also making no effort to advance. -
I think his pick was for this last weekend against the Pats........

NFC Playoff Games: Vikes at Saints 1:05 pm

Probably not because Brees has proven something in the league. He has reached his 'ceiling' and it's brought them a championship, MANY winning seasons and has been one of the best at his position...... -
