  1. no one is going to offer anything worth trading him for. RB is not a position where theres a shortage of good players. there are still alot of decent ones available for free on the market that have potential. Its not a spot that a team will need to get desperate to find a decent one
  2. Its obvious some of you don't do research here, have any of you read some of the reports from camp? Apparently Whitner is showing exactly why he was chosen at #8 in TC right now. And this all depends on how you judge a "starter". Roscoe Parrish might not be the #1or 2 WR on the depth chart, but he will be the Slot Receiver in this offence. Lynch is not a "backup", the Bills will run a #1a/1b type RB system. Maybin will replace Torbor in passing situations to be used as a Pass rusher in those downs, and McKelvin, although struggling, is the Nickel CB. You can't exactly say that a player isn't a starter or making an impact/have a role if they are going to be used in certain positions/downs. The Bills haven't done a great job drafting, I'm not trying to say that, but they haven't been the worst like some are trying to prove here. Some teams have also had the advantage of picking in the top 5 for multiple years which is alot easier of a spot to pick in then between 10-20. How can people say that teams like the Texans and Rams, and Raiders, and Bucs, for example, have drafted better when they have drafted multiple times in the top ten this last decade?
  3. What did he expect to happen? The Brick would turn into a giant pillow and land behind her head causing her to drift to sleep? The guy is over the age of 20, he picked up a brick and threw it at a car, at that age you know better, or atleast everyone should know that throwing a concrete block can cause serious damage. No excuse
  4. Exactly, he says he wants to retire or be closer to home in Texas. The Bills weren't going to allow him to just show up on game days and spend the rest of the time in Texas with his family. He still isn't 100% sure he will play this year, and the Texans are only interested because he is free to negotiate a smaller deal for only one more year. It would have been nice to get something in return for him, but he put the Bills in a bind cause he has been flip-floping on weither he wants to play next year or not. He has shown interest in possibly playing for the Texans, why wouldn't they atleast want to discuss working out a deal for next season if he wants to come back? The only way he will go to Seattle or NE (if he was serious in what he told the media and the Bills) is if either team signs him and allows him to spend most of the weeks during the season to go back home and bee with his wife and kids
  5. Only if the NFL forgets about their rule and allows them to play the Benny Hill music during all of their returns
  6. I don't know if people really understand what CJ's position on this team will be this year. He will share the return gig with McKelvin and Parrish and the others. He won't be a RB, he is going to be more of a Hybrid offensive player who will line up almost anywhere at anytime on offence to get him the ball. Jackson and Lynch are the 1a/1b backs, Spiller will take over for them when they need a break, and will also line up as a receiver at time. He is very versatile a player and is a threat running the ball as much as he is catching it. Lynch isn't going anywhere, neither are Jackson or Spiller, all 3 are going to get their time with the ball. Its actually been mentioned that it was the reason why it took so long signing him because of the "escalators/clauses" in the normal contract about carries that they needed to negotiate because of how he was being used. Because he won't be used as a regular RB all the time, they couldn't just make those for carries, and since he will also be a WR, they couldn't make them based on catches
  7. Whats to worry about, with almost the same o-line, minus the experience and the full offseason working on the offence, they won 6 games I'm not saying that they are going to be even better then last year, but for those saying that they will be worse, or acting like this problem is going to cause them to only win 1-2 games, I think they are going to be mistaken.
  8. Exactly what he said Yeah, he is good, but he gets over hyped around here cause he has a good back storey being an UDFA out of a very small school. He put up good numbers last year and may have been the best player on this offence, but thats really not saying much considering the offence he played in
  9. Can I get some proof on all of these things you are saying about him besides just yelling something at Maybin? Leads by example? He does? Do you have proof of this or is it just typical TBD "flavor of the month" Man Love "He played well for a rookie so he must be great and be a leader!" Everybody respects him? Are there any quotes from every player that says the same thing? Calls people out for not pulling their weight? Besides the comment to Maybin, who else has he called out, that definitly takes alot of balls for a guy who hasn't even played a full NFL season to do Can Call people out because everyone respects him? Again, any proof of all this respect that the team has for this guy? This all sounds like more TBD "Man Love" cause he called out the current TBD "whipping Boy". I think Eric should really be focusing on his play and getting back from his injury before he starts calling others out, he's only a second year player calling out another second year player, I like to see him turn around and call out a veteran and see how much "respect" the rest of his team has for him then. Also, where was he when Hangartner went after Maybin? Why was it just Hangartner sticking up for Fred "The Golden Boy" Jackson? Why wasn't Wood right there with him getting in Maybins face instead of yelling out a remark from a huddle probably about 20 yards away from him? I think Hangartner deserves more of this praise for getting in Maybins face and defending a fellow Offensive player
  10. Chris Browns report said it was more of a hit from the side as he got up under jacksons arm and shoulder pads causing him to go down, it was also as jackson was starting to slow down
  11. if this incident didn't involve Maybin (the fans new whipping boy) and Frad Jackson (the fans new Golden Boy), this would have been a non issue. Football is all about contact and hitting. Its great to see Maybin getting physical, and its great to see players getting fired up about it. I would expect the offensive guys to be mad about the hit, and I like that the defence encourages this kind of physical play. From one report it says that it wasn't a hit from behind, but a hit from the side, and apparently it was a non issue when something similar happened and Maybin hit Bell (the undrafted RB) in a similar way yesterday. Its also been reported that after this play the defence hit the offence alot harder on the next few plays. I'm glad to see the defence growing some balls and showing some toughness. Jaurons team probably would have hugged it out afterwards
  12. It stopped being a sport when these guys started getting paid more then any other career, even people who put their lives on the line for us all It was a sport when they were kids, its still a sport in highschool, it becomes more of a career in college, and a buisness first once they join the big leagues
  13. you are correct, theres a Law against having open alcohol containers in public (without being in a liscensed area) You can "tailgate" all you want in any parking lot in Canada, you just better not have any open alcohol at the Tailgate, which (in my opinion) after seeing many drunken idiot D-bags that can't hold their liquor stumble around the lots over an hour before a game, I don't see it as being a bad Law as for the Ti-Cats new stadium, they are having enough trouble trying to build a 30,000 seat stadium for a CFL team that will be used for the Pan-Am games, theres no way they will be able to amend this for a 60-70,000 seat facility. But hey, Jim Basillie can always step in and make a play to buy the Bills and move them to Hamilton.................
  14. Was there a couple years ago for a pre-season game against the Cards (on of Leinarts first games). Sat right at the top of the stadium, second to last row, it was a cool experience. The stadium is nice, they did some cool work to it to modernize it and still keep alot of the old features
  15. You guys do realise that a weight doesn't mean anything when you don't factor in height and how much is fat and how much is muscle. 350lbs of muscle on a 6'6" athlete is much better then someone who is 350lbs of fat and under 6' Conditioning is a concern with these big guys cause its possible to be healthy at a heavy weight like that if you are conditioned well.
  16. They can't afford that either, they just publically told everyone they did hoping he wouldn't try his key anywhere
  17. I'm just going to throw this out there, and I'm probably wrong seeing as how we have so many of Aarons close and personel confidents around here that he has told his plans too that he hasn't told the Bills yet.......... But maybe, at his age and years of playing in the NFL, he is serious contimplating retiring before his body forces him to leave the game. Not all guys can play forever, and maybe he would rather not put his body through more of the beating it takes on Sundays. Apparently where he lives right now is hours away from Houston and would involve him having a long drive to get to practice and games so its not going to be easier for him playing there. Just cause he lives in Texas, and Houston is in Texas, doesn't mean that he is next door to the stadium. I may be less familiar to the American Geography, but I believe Texas is one of the US's biggest states. If anything, he may just be wanting to sit out the camps prior to actual training camp so he doesn't have to go through the extra workouts that as a veteran he probably doesn't need. Just because the Bills are saying they have no idea what he is planning to do does it mean they really have no idea like all of us.
  18. Oh, don't worry, Bass Pro doesn't NEED the $35 million, they just want it to build
  19. That happens with alot of bands, like Nickelback. Bands become big, their musics played all over the radio, and it becomes cool to hate them. I'm not afraid to say it, I've gone to see Nickelback a few times, they put on a very good live rock show. Nice scenery throughout the crowd too. I don't think I could say I have had a bad experience with a bands performance, just the experience. The top worst concert experience was probably going to see DMB at Darrien a year or 2 ago, I had lawn seats, and between all the old dirty hippies, and drunk and/or stoned college kids it sucked (the performance was great though). It was annoying having to watchout for hippies swining around dancing on something, or drunks (guys and girls) peeing all over the place in public. After that, I had some d-bag in front of me front row at a metallica/godsmack concert who decided to piss himself so he didn't have to move. I was also at a show where I got to see Jerry Cantrell quit after a couple songs and walk off angry at Sevendust cause they were delayed and he had to play earlier then scheduled and his equipment started to pretty much melt in the heat. One I can't complain too much about was when I went to see The Tea Party in a tiny local bar, they had some equipment trouble that lasted for about 3-4 hours. They ended up still going on and putting on a full set after 12:30 at night.
  20. Yup, the UFL teams sort of "draft" available players "rights" when they aren't playing in the NFL. They are added to their roster weither they have signed a deal or not with the team, they are a part of the team if they sign a contract. Guess Omaha "won" the "Jemarcus Russell Sweepstakes"
  21. Haven't very few (if any) 1st rounders signed deals yet? It may be slotted, but its also slotted compared to what the guys ahead of him get
  22. Good point, there are plenty of other careers out there where people actually risk there lives working the full year, and not just a few Sundays out of the year playing a game, and they make a small fraction of what a rookie who has done nothing in the league yet makes a year. As for the owners, they have to put up ALOT of their own money to get to where they are, they deserve to get a nice return on their investment too. how is it anyone elses fault that McNair had only a 1/4 of his earning from his career a few years after retiring. He still had more money then most here will see in their lifetimes, and if he wasn't out sleeping around, he might still be around to make more of it working for a team or a network. If you don't want to risk your health or getting hurt, go get a job in the career you went to school and got your degree for.......... Have you seen the health and the shape some normal people are in after spending a lifetime doing some other careers that they are paid less then a fraction of an NFL player? I'm all for Revis getting his money, can't wait to see what shape the Jets will be in when the NFL gets a cap again (I hope)
  23. Could it be from that incident in Clevland last year?
  24. A better question would be "Would the championship merchandise be available at the waterfront Bass Pro right after the game is over?"
