Its a good thing the Bills switched to the invinsible 3-4 like everyone wanted and got rid of the horrible "Tampa 2"
-
But I thought it was a fact that McCargo was on his way out next????

Lee Evans to St. Louis?

The Bills and the coaching staff have given up on this season long ago, theres no point in keeping anyone, they still haven't hit middle earth in their attempt to continue digging past rock bottom -
2 interesting links on Lynch and McCargo

Well if Clayton says that the Lynch deal was good, it has to be! -

How did I sign up here in 2005 then??????? I could see them letting him go, Didn't Nix or Gailey make a comment about how they have nobody that is able to get to the QB, something that he is supposed to specialise in? -
well, they can get rid of everybody and just use draft picks to build the team, and MAYBE be competitive in 5 years if it all works out, OR they can use draft picks wisely and pick up some good players now that can help not throw players into the fire to teach them the position
-
The problem is they are purging the roster only about 6 months too late, and replacing them with Practice squad guys who aren't really an improvement I don't have a problem letting him go, he is a dead weight on the team, but its not like they are going to find someone whos a huge upgrade thats just sitting around waiting for a spot right now, and it just creates another hole they will have to use resources to fill, AGAIN
-
He wasn't really looking for work, the Jets made a claim on him once Baltimore released him, and they only released him to juggle a roster spot. Those kind of guys/moves aren't available all the time
-
We did, but what some of us can't understand is how these guys couldn't see this in the offseason on previous game film, and in the preseason, just like other teams do at this time. As for the Patriots, they were able to get 3 years out of Moss on the field, and get a draft pick 1 round higher then they acquired him for a throw away 7th round pick. They also traded him because he was becoming a malcontent/cancer on the team and he wanted out

I think Buffalo is the only place right now where they still think Peters is a great player. Even when he's on the field, the Eagles aren't exactly loving him at LT -
The REAL trade Buffalo made...

well they had to wait til after he was gone to get that extra conditional pick from seattle -
your right, Gailey came here with what, 3 years of head coaching experience like 20 years ago in Dallas, and Nix has experience as a scout, not a GM. And what is this plan that they both have for the Bills? What have they shown anyone so far that they know exactly what they are doing right now? They had a full offseason to evaluate players from last season from game film, they were so impressed with Trent Edwards pre season that it only took them 2 weeks to cut him. They were so desperate to bring in a back and player of Spillers calibre that they give him the ball on offence 10 times. Was it the fact that they can see so much from Kelsay so far this year that they felt they needed to run out and lock the guy up for 4 more years? What positions can you honestly say Gailey and Nix have improved this offseason? Is it the improved offence? The improved Defence? Special Teams? Even the DB's that were such a bright spot on last years defence have looked pretty bad so far this year and haven't even picked anyone off.

Does anyone stop and think that the reason Freddie has spent so much time on the bench is because his hand isn't 100% healed and they don't want to risk him breaking it again, or possibly fumbling the ball cause he can't get a good grip on it? -

Normally you do this in the offseason, not 4 games into a season basically giving up on the year just as it started And they had no real need to run out and use a #1 pick on Spiller. Did they need another Kick returner with Roscoe and McKelvin? (along with jackson, McGee, and other being able to fill in?) This wasn't a necessary player dump because it wasn't necessary for them to pick up Spiller in the draft -

Exactly, they wanted Spiller to replace Lynch, and the trade Lynch talk only came from disgruntled fans on internet message boards who thought the bills could survive with just Jackson and some scrubs and were too afraid that Lynch would get a year suspension. The Bills moved Lynch because they drafted Spiller, had they drafted Williams or someone else and didn't bring in another RB, Lynch wouldn't have been moved, its the reason why Spiller was brought in. they didn't trade Lynch because he and Spiller are the same style RB, they traded him because they wanted a RB like Spiller and having 3 good RB's allowed them to move one of them. Lynch ran for over 1,000 yards for 2 years before last season, he had one bad year last year after he had to miss 4 games due to suspension. If he got into serious trouble again he would have been suspended for a year, but you are right, guys like Hargrove, and Ricky Williams are both in similar situations. if it wasn't for the inept Offence and QB, the Bills could have beat the Dolphins at the opener, the next 3 they didn't have a chance in -
Lynch trade should start domino effect
apuszczalowski replied to Drew026's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No one expected them to win this year, my issue is that it appears the FO doesn't have a plan/direction to rebuilding and are just throwing away a full season to play 16 more Pre-Season games and evaluate the Roster. What makes you believe that they are going to find a decent linemen in the 4th? Was it the success they had drafting them this draft? So what you are saying is that the bills should continue to move former #1 draft picks for 4th round or lower picks? Why not just move their future 1st round picks to get a couple of 4ths and maybe some conditional picks now instead of wasting time actually making the picks and moving them in a few years from now This team already bottomed out last year, this year they decided they weren't deep enough and want to continue to dig down to see if they can find their way out instead of climbing up -

Or maybe they go WR and LB instead? What makes you think that this Front Office/Coaching Staff would now decide that they need o-line and QB help? And Lynch was a standup guy too when he started here, and up until last season, he was one of the better young Backs in the league. -

How much mileage did they really get out of him, he's still 24? and isn't Ricky Williams "just one screw up away from Big Trouble" too? He seems to have learned a lesson, maybe Lynch has done the same? -
Have we reached a tipping point?
apuszczalowski replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems like we all thought we hit rock bottom last year, unfortunatly it seems like they felt they weren't deep enough and decided to dig down trying to get out -
Trade a safety to Indy or Green Bay
apuszczalowski replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not deal Williams? Like people say, he's not a prototypical 3-4 NT, and the drafted Troupe this year to play NT, why not get something for Williams, trade himwhile his value is hot for sweet, precious Draft picks that will equal success! -
The REAL trade Buffalo made...
apuszczalowski replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BUT IF BUFFALO DIDN'T DRAFT SPILLER, THEY WOULDN'T BE TRADING MARSHAWN RIGHT NOW, SO THE ORIGINAL POSTER IS CORRECT Your Logic doesn't compare because those 2 moves are unrelated, just because they draft Brown it doesn't mean they would be trading Lynch. -

Hasn't Jackson only averaged a 1/2 yard better then Lynch? Lynch also had to sit out 4 games, and its usually tough for guys to get back into game shape after missing time like that. Also, it didn't matter who was in as RB, the offence was still offensive -
So what, you are a better fan then everyone else because you won't say anything negative about the team Explain to everyone what there is to be proud of about this team this season and the "direction" they are going in? I'm done defending this front office and coaching staff, its apparent that they don't have an idea what they have here and that they are throwing away this season to evaluate what they were given by the previous regime, something most GM's and coaches (new and returning ones) do in the offseason by watching film. What moves have they made up to this point to make you believe they have a plan in place and are pointing this team in teh right direction? Is it their assessment that Trent Edwards was the best QB on the roster and didn't need to upgrade that position? Was it that they were weak at the RB position and it was a major priority to upgrade that spot? Was it that they felt they needed to stock up on Kick Returners? Was it the vision they had that told them that they had the proper players in place to run a 3-4 defence by just moving a couple guys around to new spots? Could it be Chans recent comment that the offensive line isn't big/strong enough to pull off what he is trying to do on offence?
