Ridding the ghosts of Ngata, Harris and Revis
apuszczalowski replied to Pilsner's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But thats because they are in a position to be able to do that. They already have plenty of impact players and their needs/holes are limited and usually depth, so they can wheel and deal high picks away to stockpile future picks. good teams can do that. They can also make moves like Atlanta did and trade away picks to move up and grab an impact player at a position they want to upgrade teams like buffalo need impact players, so they need to draft well and keep their picks in the first couple rounds -
Just because a team didn't need a QB this year, doesn't mean they won't need one next year. Theres always many teams looking at finding a QB every year, its the most important position on the team, and you can't win consistently without a good one.

Florence was adequate, but not great, and not someone to cry over MAYBE losing. Who says they won't bring him back and let McGee go? They could always just wait til about game 4 when Mcgee goes down with an injury and a roster spot opens up As for Mallett, I would be pissed if I was him, sure for a Qb it might be nice to get to learn from Brady, but unless another catastrophic injury happens to Brady, you will end up spending your entire first contract sitting on the bench getting in for garbage time at the end of blowouts. You won't get a big 2nd contract (and since he was a 3rd rounder, his first one won't be huge either) beause teams will more then likely have huge ???'s about your ability because they haven't seen much of you yet. I have a strange feeling that this was a move by the Pats to try and grab BPA, that they can turn around and flip in a deal when trades are allowed to happen and bring in more draft picks. or they just decided "WTF, why not grab a backup QB for Brady now" -
You don't have to give up anything for them, they are both FA's I believe Vince Young isn't coming here, especially not to be a backup The Bills need someone who can potentially become an upgrade to Fitzpatrick, not just someone to come in and take over if Fitz gets hurt to make sure we continue on the path to an 8-8 season
-
Forget QB, Anyone left has just about the same odds of being the franchise QB Buffalo needs as Levi Brown, we don't need another backup/project QB. Franchise QB will have to come in the future, or in FA

Drayton Florence wants Bowers, supports Fitz
apuszczalowski replied to scribo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
that doesn't mean it will never happen. teams these days are giving up on players quicker these days because they are expecting management and coaching staff to turn things around sooner. How does anyone know that with some grooming and a new coaching staff where they won't be thrust intot he starting job, that all of those guys will eventually fail? How much time was given to Clausen in Carolina? -
Who Does New England Take at 33
apuszczalowski replied to Big Frank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Same could be said about Kyle williams, guess he should be tossed aside too. Fred Jacskon was part of a dismal offence his entire time here, along with Wood and Levitre who were members of an even worse o-line, guess they also suck too! -
San Diego Chargers - proposed stadium design - cool
apuszczalowski replied to BILLS02138's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cool, but it will cost them a lot to build something like that -

if your one of the members here who don't want buffalo to take a Qb with their pick, then this means everything because its more proof to say that yours is the right choice. I'm shocked though, a player on defence saying the Bills should take another player for the defence? Shocked! -
IF the Bills take a QB in the 2nd round...
apuszczalowski replied to beggar13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt it If its true that Oakland wants Kaepernick none of them will be there in round 3. There are a bunch of teams still needing or interested in QB's. Oakland, Miami, Washington, Cinncinati, San Francisco, no way one of them last past the Bills 3rd pick As for the FA QB comment, are you content with trying to make Troy or Alex Smith, Clausen, or maybe Brady Quinn the Bills QB of the future? -
i always thought it was the opposite, next years pick would be valued higher this year because you don't know where that pick will be and because you are giving the one team a chance to get someone this year by delaying your pick til next year. This years 1st rounder isn't the same value as next years second

Why does everyone assume that drafting a QB means they are getting rid of Fitz? the Bills need to think about the future (not just this season) and getting a QB now, he can sit behind Fitz for 1-2 years and learn until he can take the position away from Fitz. By delaying picking a QB, your also delaying the rebuilding of the Bills. Fitz is good enough to hold the spot for now, but he isn't going to be the guy who is going to win them a SB. He just isn't a franchise type QB. They need to address the QB situation now by either taking Mallett, Dalton, or kaepernick (if they believe those guys have the potential of being a franchise QB with some work/seasoning, or go out in FA this year and try to get a guy like Troy or Alex Smith, Clausen, or another player who Chan and Fitz can work with and maybe with a change of scenery can be the guy -
ayers would make me feel better about No Miller
apuszczalowski replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not disapointed about not getting Miller because they got a great player at 3, and Miller LOVES the Cowboys, and i don't think he will stay in Denver when his contract is up if he can move to Dallas -
Do the people that keep saying to pass cause he doesn't fit the 3-4 realise that teh bills don't play a true 3-4 and that they play whatever they have the personel for in a "Hybrid" type defence? They want a defence that they can switch to and from depending on who they play if the Doctors clear him and say whatever "condition" he has isn't a longterm concern, take him. If its something that he may only play a couple of years with until he's forced into retirement, pass and hope he falls to the 3rd or 4th. the Bills are still a couple years away from serious SB contender, theres talent that can be taken that will help us out now and by the time we are SB contenders
-
I'm in the camp that the Bills NEED a QB for the future (and getting one now means he can sit behined Fitz for a year or 2 and take the reigns when ready), but if Bowers is there, and his knee has been OK'd by multiple doctors, that has to be the pick, then see how round 2 goes for QB's and trade back in if needed or wait til the 3rd and hope one of the 3 (Dalton, Kaepernick, or Mallett) continues to fall and if they don't, go the FA route when they can. If Bowers is 100%, he was a guy who was at one time a possible #1 overall pick, I would not pass on that not all the holes have to be filled this draft, and not all of them have to be filled through the draft. TE's will be available throughout the draft and they could upgrade at LB in FA if needed too

some interesting commments in PFW audibles
apuszczalowski replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After all the talk thats been going on recently, it sounds like Miller would be a great pick at #3 (if he is there) I still think a true franchise QB is one of the bigger needs as Fitzpatrick is good for now, but they need a true franchise type guy. Teams that are consistently good have franchise guys. Although with Fitz playing the way he has, it should allow them to take a guy and let him sit and learn instead of rushing him into the starting job immediatly. For some reason I have a feeling that Kaepernick (sp?) might be the guy later (2nd or 3rd) if he lasts. -
Bills biggest immediate "need" ?
apuszczalowski replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whats the Bills biggest need? Good, Quality, Top Tier Players at any position I don't care if the player they pick makes an impact next year or not, as long as they become a top tier player in the league -

Its more then what Trent has been doing! Does anyone now wonder if Maybe Gilbran was hired by the Bills to design and create the new uniforms??? Maybe they will start the "Polo" jersey trend? -
But I thought that the 3-4 was the only defence? i thought according to the majority here, that you had to have a 3-4 to be a dominant defence? Why not Williams next to a Big Tackle playing the middle in a 4-3

What should we do for the QB position?
apuszczalowski replied to The Buffalo Irishman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Draft a Qb or make a move for Flacco, theres alot of talk about him being really upset they let Zorn go as a QB coach and he takes it as the team believing he had a bad year Kolb hasn't impressed me as much as the Eagles (like my opinion compares) but i don't know if he's as good as they believe and worth a bunch of picks. As for Young, the only thing that would bother me is giving up something for someone who will be cut eventually, and has been rumored to have a very poor attitude and he isn't a leader. He's definitly shown he can win, but he is a big risk because of his atitude This is a good year to draft a QB because we have Fitz to start the year with and allow the Qb to sit and learn instead of throwing them into the fire. The question is weither or not theres someone worth taking at #3 or is it better to wait a round or 2. I always question those that always say no to drafting a QB in round one, and say they have to draft another position #1, like its the only right move to make and those players are never bust and are guaranteed. How come you can always draft a QB (the most important position on the field) later in the draft, but a Tackle (offence or defence), or LB can only be found in the 1st? -
Dick Jauron to be DC for Cleveland Browns
apuszczalowski replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why would the Bills be interested in the 3-4 guys? From what I have heard, with Wandestat coming in and with how last season went, the Bills were going to be using the 4-3 as their base defence and basically scrapping the 3-4 -
But, But........... My dad says Cutler is going to be good someday

Per PFT ... Wanny in the running for the Browns DC
apuszczalowski replied to Dat Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why does everyone think that just because they bring in a guy to talk that it means they are intersted and only lose out cause they aren't offering enough money? Maybe they spoke with him about a position and it wasn't what Wandstadt wanted? Maybe he wants to check out all of his options instead of just taking the first offer. Maybe the Bills just brought him in to talk and didn't think he was a good fit after hearing him out?
