  1. All this year is showing is how much Polian and the Colts have relied on Manning, and how this team has been neglected because they have him. When Brady went down for the season in '08, Cassel stepped in and they still went 11-5. Manning was skeptical to even be able to start the season, and polian did nothing to address this until almost the last minute, and still won't do anything. Losing one player on a well built team should not take your team from playoff contenders to possible winless team, even if that player is Manning
  2. How dare you, he was the Lee Evans of the defence, a high priced decoy who would command all of the offences attention letting everyone else go unnoticed!
  3. until everyone is crying for him to come back cause he throws a couple TD passes. If Maybin can get this board all excited because of a couple sacks, then who knows what might happen if JP has a good game or 2?
  4. most Bills fans in Toronto already do. If the people in Toronto were rabid Bills fans, they wouldn't need to do this because they would already have a huge presence in that market. But like the NHL expansion into the Southern states, You need to bring the product to them and get them hooked. Its much harder to do with a bad product then with a good one (i.e. winning team) Toronto is just like any other sports town (only larger). The Bills don't sell every game out when they are bad. The Sabres were struggling with attendance at times before the Lockout, the Cup run and "Peguila Mania" Us Canadians coming over to help support your teams need one, it doesn't stop us
  5. A great GM builds the his team around the great QB also. he doesn't just sit back and rely on the QB to stay healthy and hope things work out, and when that QB goes down, they don't just throw the season away hoping that he might come back late in the year. The Pats went through this and hardly missed a beat without Brady when he got hurt. The Steelers could still win some games without Ben, etc. But i'm probably wrong because Saint Polian can do no wrong.....
  6. I think the last line got cut off, I fixed it for you If it wasn't for the imaginary line drawn accross the lake and river dividing Buffalo and Southern Ontario, no one would have a problem with this. If Rochester had the ability to hold a regular season game, fans would be bringing up playing a game there to grow the team. I don't get the huge problem here with some fans. If you don't think that Buffalo is a small market that will need help to survive and keep the team in Buffalo, you are living in a bit of a dream world. The only thing that keeps this team from losing large chunks of money every year is the fact that the team is paid off and the stadium is owned by Erie County and paid for.
  7. And as you can see by this season, that stat has more to do with making the right decision of Manning over Leaf then making good moves every offseason to build a contender. The pats have one of the best QB's in the league too, but as seen when Brady went down, they also have a great team around him. The Colts on the other hand, have a great QB that is carrying the team on his own
  8. So only offence matters when it comes to winning games? Wouldn't Fraser have just as much of an advantage as Jackson seeing as how they were both co-ordinators with thier current teams before becoming HC's? Only difference is one has a similar offence, while the other a similar defence? SF gets a new HC, and was a bad team last year and couldn't win a weak division, but they get the the prime time over Seattle who atleast made the playoffs (and made it past the 1st round?). If you look at the schedule, they give prime time "preference" to teams that made the playoffs the previous years, and to interesting games with sub-plots or rivalries. They also give preference to teams with a marketable Star player, such as Brady, Manning, Brees, etc. At the start of this season, an Indy NO game would have looked like a great game to watch, along with the Eagles vs Giants game. When the schedule was made earlier this year, all SF had done was sign Harbaugh as the HC, how is that enough to make them more worthy to be on prime time then a playoff team from last year?
  9. I agree that houston should have been included, along with Detroit and TB, and KC and the Rams where a huge surprise with how bad they have disapointed. The Seahawks made the playoff last year, it may have been in a weak division, but couldn't the same be said about KC? How can you say for some teams that they shouldn't be included because they have 1st year coaches, and then say that SF and Oakland should be included with thier 1st year coaches? There are too many contradictions in your arguements about why some should be included and why otheres shouldn't be
  10. Take away jacksonville, Denver and Cleveland, and looking at last years standings, alot of those look like they would be pretty good games. Throw in some good divisional rival games and its one of the better games of the week. Problem is, that logic doesn't always work out, and you can end up with having some really bad games because not all teams end up being as good as they were last season.
  11. How dare you speak ill of Saint Polian, he can do no wrong! Around these parts, that is enough to get you banned for life! It has more to do with the fans thinking that if they get games shown on prime time, they can walk around thinking that they are "respected" more and not a bad team. When was the last time the Bills had a nationally televised game where they looked good and won? I love the 1:00pm games too
  12. He was given every chance to succeed here as an every down player and he couldn't do it. He couldn't get into games because he couldn't do things on the practice field. He couldn't show that he could make plays on defence, and he couldn't show that he could play on special teams either The Jets have the luxury of not needing him as an everydown player and can have a guy whos only job is to come in once in a while and just run at the QB in obvious deep passing situations. Its one of the perks that you get when you have alot of talent on your team and defence. the jets have put him in a situation where he can pick up a couple cheap stats when he gets put into a game and allow him to just be a one dimensional player. And for those saying that he didn't want to play here, wasn't he the guy who went out right after getting drafted and had his hair cut with the Bills logo into it? Sorry, but we have the exact same guy that you mentioned and he was completly ineffective here. HE ISN"T GETTING THE PRESSURE BECAUSE HE CAN BEAT GUYS TO THE QB QUICKLY, HE IS BEATING GUYS BECAUSE THE OFFENCE IS PROVIDING ALOT OF TIME FOR HIM TO GET TO THE QB.
  13. So does being close to one that runs out of bounds behind the LOS
  14. Blasphimy! Its all Edwards fault. Its obviously the co-ordinators fault the the linebackers haven't been impressive, not the Linebackers coach, he has SB rings and a 'stache!
  15. But Merriman is helping the defence out in other ways by being the Lee Evans of the Bills defence (a highly paid decoy), nad he has been playing hurt, and george Edwards sucks, and Ralph is cheap, and Fred Jackson is underpaid.......
  16. C'mon, we all know that you just bought yourself a couple pairs!
  17. Phoenix also just built a brand new arena with a long term lease....... The Jets left Winnipeg the first time because they couldn't get the government funding to replace their aging arena. The Viking could move from Minneosota if they dont get government funding for a new stadium. I believe the Raiders moved from oakland to LA then back to oakland due to them not getting a new stadium. No Lease is "unbreakable" and able to keep a team from relocating if the owner has the money. What makes it worse is when the owner can turn a bigger profit elsewhere, and has funding help from the government to build a better facility. Besides someone who is a fan of the Bills and has LOADS of cash over a Billion, who else would look at the Bills, the local economy, the stadium, and the rest of the league and think that they are going to get a great return on their investment? Sure the team has loyal fans, but loyal fans don't mean you won't lose money. After putting up $800 mil to $1 billion to buy the team, you are still going to have to continue playing in an out of date stadium that is in probably the worst shape in the league, and right now you have some of the lowest ticket costs in the league. Without the government chipping in and paying to update a stadium that they are the owners of, thats additional money you would have to spend to atleast make an attempt to bring it up to date. You have that option, or buy them, pay the relocation fee and fee for breaking a lease, and move them to one of the largest US markets with a brand new stadium being promised (Los Angeles). You also have one of Canadas largest Cities/Markets less then 2 hours away that could be waiting for the chance to grab a team, and with talks of the Jays wanting a "Baseball Only" facility built to replace the Dome, a new football only stadium (or serious remodeling of the Dome for football only) could be done and can have a second tenant sharing the facility with the Argos in the CFL. Only problem there is that they would have to try again at convincing the Canadian government (or alteast the ontario government) to chip in and help The state could, and mostly like does, spend tax money on something worse then upgrading RWS.......
  18. you would think that someone like Saint polian would have built a team that is more then just a QB. NE didn't go winless when brady went down and Cassel came in a couple years ago.....
  19. True, its not extra money, but it is money that wouldn't be there if the Bills left town. If they want to keep that revenue stream open and continue to receive that, they need to be willing to invest it in upgrades to keep the stadium close to being up-to-date.
  20. You're right, they should have been all over praising the player SF drafted, talking about how great he is and how the Bills had to settle for a lesser player instead.
  21. 100 yards rushing/1 TD/ +/-50 Yards receiving per game is good, definitly Pro Bowl good, but MVP? He will need to up those stats a bit more before he is MVP worthy. Brady and Rogers are having outstanding seasons on offence putting up huge yards passing per game.
  22. A buddy of mine used "3rd Frank Reichs"........
  23. You must be a huge Jauron fan then
  24. AGAIN What do all of you think Wanny is doing here if you think that replacing Edwards with him is going to fix things??? He was brought here to work with the defence and improve it. Do you think he is just sitting up in the both on his @ss and waiting for the team to fire Edwards????
  25. I was thinking during the pregame shows, they talked about the Ryan family and I wonder if Rex called up his brother and offered to try and help him with his defence against the Pats? I wonder if they talk to each other when they aren't playing the other to get ideas and help each other out?
