if you assume that the $7.5 is taking into account the signing bonus, which it most likely is not, $7.5 is base salary per year with a signing bonus being extra. Signing bonuses are only included in the salary when calculating the cap hit, which the player and his agent don't normally care about when negotiating
-
We have no idea what Stevies $7.5 mil offer includes, but I doubt that it is taking into account a signing bonus. Usually when they are at this stage, that is what they are asking for as a base salary, and then there is the signing bonus. We have no idea on the details past "He is looking for $7.5 mil a year" and "He has told the Bills multiple times that he wants to wait until the end of the season to get back to negotiating" Stevie asking for $7.5 mil a season, and the Bills initially offering $5-6 mil a season is not as "insulting" or "low ball" as fans are making it out to be.

Guess that worked out for you that it was in the shop on "Take your wife to Work Day"

A Few Thoughts About The Game
apuszczalowski replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also lets not forget that 2 of the Steelers o-linemen were guys plucked off the Bilsl scrap heap after they were deemed useless here.... The Bills starting o-line this season is not as much of a problem as some here like to think it is. A healthy Wood, with Urbik and Levitre playing guard, Pears at RT, and Hairston improving or Bell staying heathy at LT give this team a chance to win and give them a good (not great) o-line. The Bills need playmakers, guys who can make the spectacular catches, and a QB that can get the ball too them. Fitz's problem isn't the arm strength, its the accuracy, he misfires on too many throws and they don't have any WR's that can make the catches when not thrown right too them. (i.e. they don't have guys that can go up and make catches over the DB's, or guys that make the diving catches). They also need a coach/OC that will stick with teh running game more and use Freddie and CJ more to run the ball. -
These are early negotiations though, you never make your best offer this early. What should be a good sign to fans is that the Bills have been coming to him to start negotiations before teh season and during, and its Stevie thats saying "Lets wait til the offseason". Some players just want a deal and will take whatever is offered if its fair, some have an amount they feel they are worth and will hold out longer for that amount. My point is, the season isn't even over yet, he has told the Bills on atleast 2 seperate occasions to wait til the offseason, and the offseason is still 2 1/2 months long til anyone else can negotiate with him. Its not even close to crunch time yet. Do you think the Bills are the only team that makes lower counter offers to players? Good, I was afraid using a first grade level that it may have been too advanced...
-
Between that one, and constantly mis typing the word THE as TEH......... Its negotiations, you always counter with something much lower then what the other is offering and go from there. I personally think that Stevie is worth more in the $5-6 mil range like the Bills do because I believe he is more of a #2 WR then a #1, and that his numbers are inflated by being the best WR of a no name WR core, and an offence that loves to throw the ball. He doesn't make those spectacular catches you see the top guys making, and has dropped multiple "easy" (for an NFL WR) catches in critical situations in his short 2 year career. 5 years at $25 to 30 mil, with a $10 to 15 mil signing bonus is around what I would offer him

With the injuries will they let Jasper play

Size does not equal success or that a player can play Remember that guy the Bills signed a few years ago, he was massive, I believe he had been drafted, and later cut by the Lions. I think he is out of Football, AGAIN -
Maybe its the years of the contract? Maybe he wants incentives in that deal? maybe he is looking for a huge signing bonus to go along with that yearly salary? maybe he wants RWS to be renamed to SJ Field in the new deal? Maybe he wants to play against Revis all 16 games a season? Maybe he is asking that Ralph Wilson has to buy a new Taurus through him at the dealership so he can get extra commision? Just because thats what he is asking for in yearly salary, it doesn't mean its the only part they need to negotiate See my previous post

Everyone needs to come the F*** down about this negotiations. Free Agency doesn't start for another 2 1/2 months, the seasons not even over yet and people act around here as if it starts Monday This is a quote from teh WGR article from his agent "We were approached to do a deal prior to the season starting," said Laboy. "When it became clear that the two sides were too far apart, we agreed that it would be best to shelve negotiations and allow Stevie to focus on the season. Stevie never wanted his contract status to be a distraction to him or his teammates. At that time, the Bills turned their focus on getting Ryan [Fitzpatrick]’s contract done, which they ultimately did. A week or so after Ryan’s deal was done, the Bills wanted to re-open negotiations, but when it quickly became apparent that we wouldn’t be able to get a deal done, Stevie decided that it was best to wait until the end of the year before talking about his contract again." Basically, he is saying that Stevie wanted to wait til the offseason to negotiate his contract, even when the Bills approached him to negotiate after getting Fitzs deal done, he still wanted to wait til after this weekend The guy says he wants to be here, the team has opened discussions multiple times to try and re-sign him, and his side says they want to wait til the offseason to negotiate. Can we atleast say No More Stevie Contract Posts until either - A. He has a new deal signed, or B. its the End of February 2012?????

he enjoyed finger painting, making people laugh, and throwing feces man, now thats the good life.......... -
Atleast you only rented it and could turn it off, I think I actually went to the theatre to see the movie with my girlfriend. I didn't like it because it was a horrible movie and not really funny at all. I remember reading TinTin books at school (was in an extended french program from 5th grade til the end of highschool) when I had to read French books. I find some of the motion capture animation to be creepy, but this movie looks like something I would watch

I'm not really trying to disagree with you, just pointing out that for every "almost win", theres usually an "almost loss" in there too. The thing is, good teams win the close games, bad teams find ways too lose them. The Bills need to find ways to win their close games and the games they are supposed to win
-
They would? I think the 49ers fans would ask you "whos Wilson and Byrd?", and they are happy with the defence as is Bills fans are hilarous to watch when you take a step back. Whitner was run out of town, goes to a team that has one of the best defences in the league and has yet to give up a rushing TD if I am not mistaken (if not, they had yet to give one up in 14 games), but its all in spite of Whitner because he sucks so bad. Fans decided to run him out of town the second his name was called if he didn't become an instant Pro bowler because his name wasn't Ngata. Now, since he has been named to the pro Bowl (even as an alternate) fans discredit the pro Bowl and say it means nothing, just a popularity contest. Yet, when someone they like makes it, like Peters, its a huge deal and means he is the best in the league. Quick question, does the NFL Pro Bowl work like other sports where the alternates are named by the coaches/players votes, or are they just the next person in line in fan voting? Still waiting to hear a Bills player get the call to go, only horrible ex-bills seem to be getting the call
-
You would call 2 teams with as bad or worse o-lines then the Bills? The Steelers would probably say to raid the Bills linemen, thats what they have done. their starting LT in the Super Bowl last season was a Bills castoff. Rogers was getting killed all last season behind that o-line. the green bay o-line is nothing special, it just looks much better because the Qb behind is is so good that teams can't throw everything at him because he will beat you in the air with a pass to whomever ends up open. i think its time you let the grown ups talk about football and you can go watch Sponge Bob repeats because they thought Levitre had potential to be a C also, and had been practicing him there too, Urbik and Rhinehardt were playing well at Guard while Levitre filled in at LT so they figured it was better to move Levitre to C and not have to disrupt the starting Guards to shuffle the lines. They found out in that game that levitre needed alot more work to be a capable C

Got hooked on another HBO series...Bored to Death

The only reason I had even heard of her before was because of the Comedy Central Roasts, which she was on a couple of recent ones. I think they are trying to make her the "slightly cleaner, but kinda edgy" female comic. Kind of like the middle ground of say Ellen Degenres and Lisa Lampinelli. She is one of those woman, like Zooey Deschanel, that I can't decide if they are attractive or not. Zooey Deschannel looks kinda cute, but then she talks and it all goes away......... -
I haven't noticed it that bad with Ricky Gervais, I was interested when I heard about a movie or tv show he was going to do that had something to do with Atheism and God. I have been watching "An Idiot Abroad: Bucket List" and what annoys me is that he seems to be going too far to try and make Karl look like an idiot, or piss him off. Its much funnier when Karl does that all on his own with little prodding. This season he is constantly going further and further into pushing his bottons. The issues you are pointing out about celebrities and their agendas is one of the main reasons I hate U2. Bono supports good causes and all, but I can't stand when celebrities think that their cause is so much more important and that we should do like them, because they know best, because they are famous. I have become less and less interested in the band Green Day, ever since they went all "political" with American Idiot and their last album. They started as a punk band singing about drugs and masturbation, now they feel they know more about politics and peace/war? As for movies, I think I have only watched the first Mission Impossible, but this one looks like one I would watch. The top one I want to see out now is the Sherlock Holmes sequel. Just watched the first one again yesterday while at home. I personally would not have wasted the time writting out so many words for "new Years eve". It probably would have been a better use of space and time to just put "Gary Marshalls New Years Eve, Pass". I have heard only good things (it was the only movie recommended 2 weeks ago on Shredd and Ragans movie review with the guy from MTV from WNY who reviews movies) about 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy", I believe he gave it 4 1/2 chicken wings out of 5 and said it was the movie to watch if its playing in your area.

I can't say I have watched a full episode of it, but from what i saw, I would take repeats of Ashton Kutcher 2 1/2 men then that show. The blonde isn't hot, the other one is annoying, so much so that her large rack can't even make up for it, and the supporting characters where just horrible...... But if you look at who one of the producers is of the show, Whitney Cummings, it probably won't get canceled early because she seems to be someone they are trying to make popular now and push -
Does it involve lifting things up and putting them down? had a half day Friday, off Monday and Tuesday (Canadians get 2 holidays for Christmas ), back in for Wednesday and Thursday, then a half day Friday and off Monday

I watched it a few times ZG and Danson were good in it, but I don't find Schwartzman funny. It doesn't surprise me that it was canceled, but there are way worse shows on that should have been canceled before this..... -

Shutdown Corner's "Hidden Pro Bowlers"
apuszczalowski replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How did Stevie not make the Pro Bowl? With all the posts about how teams will be falling all over themselves trying to sign him this offseason, and the Bills FO are idiots for not giving him whatever he wants (top WR $$$$$), how is he not a Pro Bowler? Alot of fans are already polishing his Canton Bust already. He can drop important catches better then the rest! -

apuszczalowski replied to ....lybob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is what you meant Is it too late to get him onto the pro Bowl Ballot this season? I think that some believe that if he just steps onto the field he will be deserving of a starting spot on the Pro Bowl team. Might as well get it over with and let him play, then when he doesn't look like a starter the fans can turn on him and complain about how bad Nix and Gailey are at drafting or that he should play NT, until they play him at NT...... This guy is a huge project with SIZE, and potential Upside because of his size. He was a small school o-linemen drafted in the 7th as a project that they thought would be a potential NT due to his size. In the pre-season they found he wasn't a good NT, so they put him on the PS and let him go back to the o-line. Everyone is so afraid that the Bills have this gem that everyone would steal away, yet he lasted all year on the PS without being snatched away. Kinda like Joique Bell, when Freddie was IR'd, the Bills could have easily stole him back off the Saints PS instead of bringing in Choice. So far Bells NFL carrier has been a PS journeymen -
One play, it was one bad play. Johnson always seems to get a pass everytime he drops a game winning TD, but McKelvin messed up on one punt return where he was trying to make a play and he has his house vandalized and the fans want to run him out of town. Guess he should have asked to be drafted later............ And there were probably atleast 4 wins that were very close to being losses where they should have lost, it goes both ways
-
He has always been a decent player, nothing spectacular, not a Pro bowler, but just a decent/good player. The Fans here just expect more, and need their whipping boys to try and run off the team (then B*t*h and moan about how bad the Front office is when they are gone and have a good game) Teebow is a good runner and is elusive, thats why he has had success this year, he can use his feet to get away from rushers and make plays.
