  1. There have been plenty of games where a local bigger buisness (if there are any of those left in buffalo anymore) would buy up the rest of the tickets to keep the games from being blacked out. And no single person is gonna go run out and buy a ticket in hopes that they can lift the blackout for others, but they do go out an purchase tickets if they want to watch the game Even in the good times, back in the SB years, the Bills had trouble selling out December games, and there was always the playoff "Greatest Comeback" game that was blacked out to local TV. But yeah, lets continue to think that this was only now a problem because the team sucks cause Ralphs all about making Billions in profits a season!
  2. I would have no problem bringing in Quinn, if he were available and the Bills were interested in a Qb at this time. But I don't see any signs that they are looking to make a move at QB anytime soon. FITZ IS THE STARTER, OF THE PRESENT AND FUTURE. Thigpen was signed to a 3 year deal, he has had success and knows Gaileys system, he also has worked with Lee in Miami before. He looked bad when he was thrown in during the couple games this year, but they haven't shown any signs they are unhappy with him. Lee is a Qb coach who is credited for bringing the Wild Cat back to the NFL with Miami, I'm sure the Bills reason for making him the guy they wanted to replace Cortez is because he can work with Brad Smith on the Wild Cat. The whole reason for going after Smith last offseason was to take advantage of the 3rd QB/WildCat Qb position rule change.
  3. C'mon, stop bringing facts into arguements around here....................
  4. Same one Jason Peters was sent to, and the Same one no Bill is going to this season................
  5. Weren't the Bills o-line near the top of the category in giving up the least amount of sacks this season? Wasn't Fred Jackson the leagues leading rusher for a big chunk of the season running behind this o-line?
  6. Whos gonna trade for an always injured Tackle that can't finish a season healthy? How many Roster spots are they gonna keep open for the LT position? If you sign Bell, he is either the starter or the backup to Hairston, they won't be trying to get another starter for that spot and have 3 LTs on the roster, and I think Buddy already said that Hairston is staying at LT and won't be moving to RT WHY IS THIS EVEN BEING MENTIONED??????? The guy is under contract with the Bills. If he wants to sit out thats his choice, but it doesn't mean the Bills are forced to get rid of him, and you can have 2 productive RBs on a team. The Bills have never said that they won't renegotiate with jackson, they just said that its not the first contract on the list, they have guys that need to be re-signed first, they are the priority. As for Johnson, HE was the one that broke off talks when the Bills came to him and wanted to renegotiate during the season. He was the one that told them he didn't want to negotiate during the year. They want to re-sign him and bring him back. They still have about 2 months to do that before he can sign with anyone else.
  7. As an Alternate, yes
  8. People always leave out the part in this arguement where the Bills got 7 years use out of that first rounder before trading him for a 4th. Everyone makes it sound like they just drafted him in teh first then traded him away for a 4th. Its like complaining that you bought a $50,000 sports car then 7 years later sold it for $10,000. You got 7 years of use/mileage out of it, its not the same value as when it was shiney and new They picked up some value for something that could see the scrap heep in a couple of years...........
  9. The only people that think Whitner is so horrible are Bills fans. He was doomed from the start in Buffalo when he was taken 8th overall, when the fans wanted Ngata. Fans blamed him and he could never do right so hes another player run out of town thought to be a horrible player. The remainder of the NFL seems to view him differently.......
  10. I don't think that the Blackouts should be permitted on Centre Ice and Sunday ticket. You are paying a premium for the games, they should be shown. I have the internet version of Centre Ice this year for Sabres games, and I couldn't get the New Years Ottawa game, it told me it was available as a Nationally televised game on CBC. Except that I am in the Leafs region where the Leafs/Jets game would be shown, and they don't have MSG here in Canada to catch the Buffalo broadcast. On cable however, I don't have an issue with non sellout games being blacked out in the area, but i think the rule should be based off of selling a certain amount of tickets instead of a percentage, seeing as how every stadium has a different capacity
  11. They aren't elite, or Great (very few are), but they are good/good enough. And i believe Nix only said they would be looking at getting A tackle, because you can never have too many. They just gave pears an extension, so I hardly think they believe he is a problem. Too many people have it in their heads that players have to be elite/Pro-Bowlers for a team to be good. The issue on the line this year wasn't talent, it was the depth. I don't see them drafting a tackle so early (even less likely if they can re-sign Bell). More then likely the first couple picks get used on a WR, pass rusher, and DBs from the way Nix spoke about the team
  12. I would think that that is one of his jobs. And you can never have enough "Mental power" This can be a good addition, should really help with Brad Smith since this guy was the one who brought the Wild Cat back to the NFL
  13. Guess thats why they don't have any pro sports teams in Canada If the Bills move, which is probably the most likely situation in the next decade, it will be a move to Toronto. The NFL's rationalisation to allowing it is that they are expanding into Canada, getting into Canadas largest market, and they are still a short drive away from Buffalo so current fans can still watch/support the team
  14. Way to start off your era as owner with a bang! In an area where your team is not a huge draw, the best idea is not to go out and insult potential customers. I'm sure all owners really feel the way that he does/said, that ST holders are the "true" fans because purchasing ST's is better then purchasing a single game ticket, or watching the game for free at a bar or home. Problem is, there are die hards out there that might not make the money needed to purchase ST's, especially in todays economic times. The guy should be saying anyone that supports the team is a Fan, considering they have so much trouble to fill that stadium.
  15. lack of depth better then him at the CB position, and plenty of return guys as good or better ahead of him kept him playing CB more then risking injury returning kicks. I think he returns kicks more this upcoming season with Roscoe most likely gone, Spiller playing a more active role in the offence and upgrading the CB position
  16. Whichever player the Bills pick, that always seems to be the guy no fans wanted
  17. Why? With manning you already have your OC on staff, you don't need an offensive minded coach. I would rather bring in a coach that specialises in my teams weakness then my strength.
  18. There is nothing wrong with the point that the OP is making here. Dalton helped make the 4th worst team last year into a playoff team. He made the team forget about their former starting QB enough that the owner was willing to go back on his word and trade him instead of letting him go into retirement. Williams (not complaining about the pick), spent time injured this season, and when given the chance to play, played on a defence that had not improved much from being the worst defence last year. Looking at the choices position/needs wise for both teams, they were both good choices for the Bengals and Bills. Looking in hindsight at BPA, the Bengals got the better player this year. And to compare stats, your comparing the stats of a rookie QB to a journeyman career backup of 7 years. Dalton still has much more potential. But the Bills weren't interested in getting a QB this offseason unless they were going to be a better starter from game 1 then Fitz, and Dalton wasn't expected to come right in and start. If Dalton was drafted by the Bills, he would have spent the year on the bench (with fans begging the coaching staff to put him in once the Bills lost a game) On a side note, Could you imagine Dalton playing here growing out a giant ginger beard?
  19. Same thing with the Jets, they hired Sporano to be the OC yesterday when Shotty Jr said he wasn't coming back. If he was responsible for Henne as a QB coach, The Jets can have him to work with Sanchez!
  20. Can't see them letting McKelvin go if he is not a FA this offseason, its just creating another hole at a position the GM has said you can never have enough players at. I don't see any of the current players being let go unless someone better at their spot comes in and beats them out for it in OTA's and Training camp. I do see the writing on the wall for Roscoe though, sounds like they really want to keep him because they like what he brings to the game, but its completly useless if he is on IR every year.
  21. you are correct, the OP did add in the part about drafting a LT in the thread title But I don't think Buddy said anything about it being a LT, everything I have seen quoted Buddy as saying he was looking at draft a Tackle, because you can never have too many tackles.
  22. The OP said nothing about the draft, he said that letting Stevie and bell go creates a hole. You were teh one that said that Nix, every season, talks about addressing the o-line and yet he has only drafted Hairston. My point was that there are other ways to address the o-line other then just drafting which you brought into the conversation. Nix has been working on addressing the o-line, he has brought in guys through FA to look at and try and fill holes
  23. I really wonder how much having an older owner with constant rumors of the team moving after his death, have players not wanting to come here? I can understand a veteran player with a family and other similar options available migh thave this as a concern because they would rather not uproot the family and move them more then once. But for young players, with no family, or maybe just a wife, I really wonder if its a concern? I would say the younger, single players are more concerned about the city and nightlife more then if the team may eventually relocate No one is saying that it is the reason, just saying it can be a huge part in why they have trouble recruiting bigger FA's to play here. The biggest FA signing this decade was TO for the Bills, and he came here because he was desperate for a team to take a chance and sign him so he could show he can still play
  24. Why not listen to it together with all of them? They might be able to help him understand whats being said better? I can understand the confusion though, its been such a busy offseason so far for the Bills. Look at whats already happened 1. The have already lost Stevie and Bell to other teams that signed them in FA 2. Buddy Nix has abruptly retired, pulling a Marv and bolting before finishing 3. Buddys heir has bolted to be the new GM in indy, right before being given the same position with the Bills 4. The bills reach for another bust in the first round this year and pass on multiple HOFers in the draft 5. They drafted more DB's and not all Linemen 6. They didn't trade picks to move back and get more picks (or forward to select a HOFer) in the draft 7. The Dolphins made the playoffs in 2012 all because they signed Jeff Fisher to be their head coach 8. Every NFL team goes 19-0 in 2012 and win the SB while Buffalo goes 0-16 9. Every fan of every NFL team gets a trouphy and awards for being fans of their team except Bills fans who are mocked and laughed at everywhere they go, being shunned and forced to move to Cuba 10. Ralph Wilson revealed that he is a Cyborg who will live forever, then announced he is relocating the team to LA where he immediatly spent every dime he has to build a perrenial SB winner
  25. Except that Bledsoe came here in a trade from NE Just changing the owner isn't going to magically turn things around and make this a top destination for FA's to want to come and sign with. It is true, players don't look at Buffalo as an attractive destination to come play in, it doesn't have a reputation of being a "Big City". The younger players want to play in areas with a nightlife, they want somewhere that has clubs and places to party. It takes players alot of convincing most of the time to want to come here. Being a mediocre team definitly doesn't help when there are other options for similar money Just look at the Sabres this offseason. Their new owner had to fly out and come close to begging players to sign in Buffalo. They flew out to Calgary to convince Regher to waive his NTC, and they had to have players try and convince Ehrhoff to come and be grossly overpaid here in Buffalo. Green Bay and Indy don't seem to have this problem, but that can be because they are teams playing at the top of their divisions, with great QBs carrying the team (Manning, Favre and now Rogers) giving players the chance to win every year. But if you look, neither of those teams have been big spenders in FA and typically sign mid to lower level FA's and build their team through the draft. Detroit and Clevland seem to be 2 teams similar to Buffalo when it comes to peoples views of the actual cities, except that they are both much larger, and with bigger corporate bases located there.
