Question about WR at #10
apuszczalowski replied to damaynman150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And this is the difference between making a team better and spinning your wheels in mediocrity. Yes the bills have SJ as the #1 WR right now and are looking for a #2. So your saying they shouldn't take someone who has potential to be better because they are only looking for a #2? If you can get a guy with the potential to be better then SJ to be the #2 for now, you do it and give Fitz more weapons on offence. You can't keep ignoring the offence and expect the defence to carry you, look at the 49ers this offseason, they went out and tried to get Peyton and upgrade their WRs cause they learned from last season that a top defence can only carry you so far, you need to score points too. -
Had the Bills signed Meachem...
apuszczalowski replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't disagree that they could go LT too if they don't feel that theres a WR they like at 10, but I think this staff is high enough on giving Hairston a shot at starting LT they may try and get one in the 2nd or 3rd too. This all could hinge on the plan that they think Bell will come back when he doesn't get what he wants somewhere else. They offered him a deal, he just never responded to it and went to test the market. If he isn't re-signed by the Draft, the Bills go in taking either a WR or LT because they no longer need Pass Rushers. Had they signed Meachem or Manningham (if their interest was true or not) they would probably be going in looking for Pass Rusher or LT at #10. I feel they believed they had 3-4 BIG needs this offseason (Shore up the D-line/Pass Rush, compliment WR for SJ, and LT to replace Bell) to address and went in with the plan of filling atleast 2 of those needs in FA. From the way things went, they thought they could address the Pass Rush and WR early in FA (Williams and Meachem) and they ended up filling one of them. When the WRs available dwindled, they went for DE to solidify the Pass Rush and D-Line, with the plan for LT being that they would bring Bell back or find his replacement somewhere in the Draft and give Hairston teh chance to show he can play. They have yet to show interest in any of the available Tackles besides making an offer to bell, so it doesn't appear to be a huge concern for them that Hairston may need to start -

But didn't the Bills schedule the Giants WR Manningham to come in for a visit after signing Williams to his contract? I don't think they had it set out that if they couldn't get Meachum they would go after Anderson. I think that the plan was to go after one of the better WRs and Williams in FA. If they could sign both, they were set and done making big moves in FA, if not, they would see whats left and go from there. When they lost out on another WR and Anderson was available they brought him in and dedcided to fix the Pass Rush in FA and I would bet that they are looking at WR first at 10, if not, their 2nd rounder would be used for one since they couldn't upgrade WR in FA Basically, I think the plan was to finish FA with one need in the Draft, either an additional DE for the pass Rush, or a WR. When they lost out on Meachum and Manningham, they didn't see anyone else they really liked at WR, so they decided to let that be the need for the #10 pick and go after another Pass Rushing DE -
Sean Payton asks Bill Parcells to serve as interim HC
apuszczalowski replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't think it says anything about the others on staff, its a one year fill-in job. Theres very little chance that the Saints turn around and fire Payton and keep the replacement in because they had a great season. This way you don't have to promote someone to HC for 1 year, then turn around and demote them back and remove whomever they brought in to fill in for the guy who was promoted. Personally, I think in this case the league should not let the Saints bring in anyone as a replacement and make the rest of the coaches work together to fill the HC duties. What kind of punishment is the team really receiving if they are allowed to bring in someone for one season (position might be attractive to the top guys who are retired and don't want the job full time) to replace a guy who was punished? If the league really wants to set a precedence and punish the team, they should be the ones to name the fill-in Head Coach, "New orleans Saints, the NFL would like to announce your interim Head Coach for the 2012 season, former head coach Dick Jauron! Also, to fill in for the suspended GM for 8 Games, please give a round of applause for your interim GM for the draft and 8 games this season, Former Lions GM, Mr. Matt Millen!" -
Sunday or Monday Night Opener?
apuszczalowski replied to Dont Stop BILL-ievin''s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can see them getting a prime time game this year because they landed the top defensive FA this year and will be seen as one of the teams on the rise. (Did they change the rule yet that all teams were now going to get atleast 1 prime time game a season?). As for the Jets, they will get prime time games to because they are a New York (in name) team. I wouldn't be surprised to see them get the opener because of Tebow, he more then likely won't start, unless NY feels pressure to unload Sanchez (I hope not) and make him the starter. otherwise he will see game time, but as a Wild Cat QB (Brad Smith type role when he was used early on last year). I would think the NFL would go with a Bills/Pats prime time game over the jets because of the game last year when the Bills won at home. It also might be a good storyline to see one of the top offences face off against the Bills new D-line/defence If they wanted to break records for lowest audience for a prime time game, those could be competitors -
Wonder what back story she used?

I have to agree with the Meh comment Its better then some of the crap they have brought out recently like Napolean Dynomite (If you were gonna make a cartoon off that movie, wouldn't you do it less then a decade since it came out?) or that show with the former fat kid from Super Bad doing the voice. The Simpsons are becoming completly unwatchable, the only cartoons on Fox I look forward to watching on Sunday Nights are Seth McFarlanes. Bobs Burgers I may have on in the background, but its not one I would watch if I can find something better on

Very important question for those in WNY
apuszczalowski replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It depends, not in WNY but a couple minutes north over the bridge, and I always find if you wait to put the Blower away, the grass grows until your the trailer trash of the block, but the second you go to put it away, We get something close to a blizzard, of heavy wet snow -
I understand what your saying that it doesn't seem logical (a team in the same division, with the same record but do to divisional tiebreakers sits above the Bills because of their head-to-head games, ends up picking before Buffalo because the draft tie breakers are different then divisional seeding tie breakers. But the only reason this happened, and it does not happen often, is because the draft has to look at tie breakers differently cause not all teams play each other, or play the same teams. The only way to fairly do it is to look at SoS. Miami may have beaten Buffalo twice, but they had a harder (or easier, not sure how its determined) schedule then Buffalo (using SoS) The only thing I could see the league doing is saying that in this case, wehere 2 divisonal teams are tied, the draft tiebreaker goes head to head games to determine the tie breaker between those 2 teams, and SoS to determine where the other teams tied would be selecting around those teams (i.e. Buffalo would pick before Miami, but SoS would be used to dermine if Carolina would pick before Buffalo, or before or after Miami) OR They could just do a draft Lottery like the NHL and NBA do

Ralph is........SAVVY?
apuszczalowski replied to filthymcnasty08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AGAIN, Nix has said it before, he has talked Ralph OUT OF SPENDING money in previous seasons because he didn't feel it was the right time and the right players. Fans always think that spending money on name players is good because of what players did on a previous team. But the coaches and GMs are looking at whats best for their team, and what they need from players at those positions. Alot of the time, guys may not fit the type of role they want for a position, even though that player may be a good player. Also Nix has said he isn't a fan of shopping in FA because the majority of the time you end up overspending on a guy who never reaches the level that you are paying them at. The Bills have spent lots of money in previous years, but on players that were then overpaid (Dockery, Walker, etc.) This year they just happened to be in a position where one of the best players available was a guy that fit the role they needed and was a perfect fit. -
Goodell lowers boom on the Saints
apuszczalowski replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Radio this morning said that as of April 1st, Payton will not be allowed into team Facilities for one calender year. Basically, its a year away from coaching without pay, then he can come back to his old job. I kind of think that it is a little harsh considering what Spygate got the Patriots. What the Pats did was in violation of the rules of the game and is cheating. What the Saints (and most NFL teams have done) did was unethical and morally wrong, they weren't cheating by doing it. It definitly warranted discipline especially if they were aware of it and told to take care of it themselves first 2 years ago. But this is mostly the NFL trying to save its own backside from potential lawsuits from injured players who may have been seriously hurt in a game and may have had a bounty placed on them by a team. This is there damage control to try and show that they weren't condoning it and hopefully won't be sued I think it was more about it happening before in a time where there was as much "inside info" available to the fans and media through the internet. Years ago too, it was just accepted that Football was a viscious game that guys got hurt playing, but now that players are getting alot bigger and stronger (and using fancier new steriods), the injuries are getting worse and they want to clean up this to market the game to families and children -
Bills trading up for Tannehill?
apuszczalowski replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't say I would be for or against this deal due to the player because I know nothing about him other then he's been talked about as the 3rd best QB in this draft. BUT....... I would love to see this happen if for the only reason it adds to the misery of the Dolphins Offseason this year where nothing has been working out right for them! -
Tebow Trade Watch for Wednesday
apuszczalowski replied to WVUFootball29's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that if Elway and the Broncos have any class, they would work on getting him to the Jags. They really jerked him around and showed no class while he was getting them into the playoffs, and then still not saying they are commited to him and running off to get manning. Atleast make a deal to send the kid back home, and to a place that could use some media attention to try and sell tickets too. Sending him to the jets would just be cruel and Elway might as well just crap into his luggage while throwing him onto the first plane out of town -
WTH are the Dolphins thinking?
apuszczalowski replied to Bud Adams's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couldn't have happened to a better team, besides the Jets and Pats of course As for what are they thinking? Probably "Its hard to win in the NFL" And we thought the Bills were a disfunctional franchise, Miami couldn't even get the 2nd most coveted QB available this offseason to sign with them after the brought in his former co-ordinator to be the Head Coach. Then, Alex Smith passes them over to go back to the team that was actively looking to replace him with Manning after sayign they weren't interested in Manning, and saying that Smith was their guy. -
TEBOW!!! is a Jet! (finally)
apuszczalowski replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whats so wrong with that? Alot of players do things similar but aren't called out on it. Its because it is a "religious" song that he is called out for it. He doesn't go running up to the cameras and grab them singing directly into them. -
Why else do you think he escaped? he was on his way to OBD for a FA interview (and free dinner) to try and get a contract. After seeing what Linemen can get in FA he figured that at 400lbs, he should be looking at a nice 5 year deal somewhere.....

I wonder if we expressed interest in Brady Quinn
apuszczalowski replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was it Fitzs "Injury" that made him look bad, or all the injuries around him? Maybe they didn't see much of a difference between how he did things pre and post "Injury", and that the poor play was more because of the lower quality of players filling in for injured starters? -

Players play hurt ALL THE TIME. This isn't something new, and no proof that the team had no faith in Thigpen, just that Fitz may have been injuured but he felt it was something he could play through and didn't need to miss time. Players (especially the top guys) are stubborn and very few of them want to come out of a game, even when hurt. -
Got tickets to see them perform at the fort in Niagara On The Lake June 30th (Day before Canada Day) I don't know what says Canada more then the Hip on Canada day, except maybe if it was between periods at a hockey game of The moose vs The Beavers

Last night I saw the pilot on TV, and I have to say i don't think I ever saw that episode before, and I have seen them all multiple times. I think one of the earliest ones I can remember is when they are at the Laundramat and Kramer pours cement into it....

Dolphins sign David Garrard
apuszczalowski replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, When no one else is making you an offer, and you already sat out last season opting for surgery instead so you can stage your comback this year, you have to take what you can get or retire. I just wonder how much higher "signing with miami in 2012" was over "Hanging up your cleats" on Garrards list? -
TEBOW!!! is a Jet! (finally)
apuszczalowski replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, that just proves it, QB's need no time to adjust to the NFl game and are expected to now be Pro Bowlers in their rookie years. Sorry Aaron Rogers, you suck now, should have been a starter since day one of being drafted -

apuszczalowski replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Outside of Miami, or maybe jacksonville, I don't see it either, no other teams are desperate enough to need a startet that bad, or need to sell out their stadium as bad. A team will bring him in to see if they can make him into a good QB, or bring him in to be the 'Wildcat Qb" like the Bills did with Brad Smith last year. There is really zero downside to making a deal for him if you can get him for a 4th or 5th. The upside is much more and would make it worth it for that kind of pick to see what you can do with him.
