Drew Stanton signed knowing he would be the #2 and then right after they traded for Tebow and bumped him down to the #3. He wa upset because he may have had a chance to be a #2 somewhere else and thats why he came to the Jets. Theres still plenty of offseason left, and Dixon may still sign on as a backup, but if he believes he can be a starter, it will probably be with a team thats still looking for their #1 guy, or an older vet starting and the team will give him a chance to try out for the #1 job in training camp. He is less likely to sign on somewhere where a team has already said they are only looking for a backup QB and that QB will be competing for the backup job only.

And maybe the reason why he hasn't been picked up by anyone yet is because he has let teams know he wants a chance to start? He is 27 and was never given a chance to be a starter in Pittsburgh, going somewhere else with the chance to only be the backup is a lateral move for him. He could always go to Cleveland where he would be the youngster behind their new rookie QB

Does Anyone think that maybe Dixon doesn't want to go somewhere that he will be a backup again? Maybe he is looking for a place that will give him a chance to start?

But how do you confirm this information without having someone who was actually there present to verify it? With no one else alive that could confirm if the answer given is true or not, whatever questions you ask would have to have been questions where the information has been given somewhere. If the guy is good and done his homework, he will be able to give you that answer

I would take Trent back as a Backup. I think there are many guys in the league that I would take to be the backup QB but I wouldn't want having to be the long term starter (Trent is one of them)

I have no issues with him being brought in and given a chance to start in preseason. Personally, I think everyone in preseason should be there trying to comepete for a starting job. I don't want anyone on my team content with being a backup/sitting on the bench. I want all my players wanting to play and start, no matter whos in front of them. I love how at some positions, everyone gets so offended and defensive when someone is mentioned to be brought in. At QB, your not allowed to bring in someone who might compete for Fitzs job because Fitz is the starter. At WR, any WR thats brought in has to be a #2 because they don't want Stevie upset that he doesn't get to be the #1 WR. I bet if this was someone like Haynesworth coming in for a visit, half the posters here would make the board explode from the man love being thrown at Buddy and Nix for bringing him in........

And you think this guy hasn't researched the pieces of history that he claims to have visited? Asking about the weather, its not hard to come up with the correct answer. Knowing when it took place you can tell roughly wiether it was warm or cold If this guy is good, he has done his reasearch on the dates and can answer the questions asked

And what did he show with the Colts last season to make you believe he is anything better then what Thigpen could be with a full offseason with the team?

I agree with Maddog69 on this one, he may be placed on the outside, but that doesn't mean just because he has speed he is going to only be running deep routes and "going long", I can see the majority of his plays being designed where he will run slants and make quick catches that are designed to let him use his speed after he makes the catch, with the ability to occasionally allow the Bills to have him just go deep and throw a bomb to him. As for the kicker pick, I think they are seeing the end of Lindell career in Buffalo coming soon and are looking at bringing in his replacement now. I highly doubt they waste a roster spot to keep 3 kickers on the roster (Moorman for punts, Lindell for FG's, and the new guy for kickoffs). I see him being put onto the practice squad after training camp and used as an insurance policy if Lindell goes down, and will be his eventual replacement when they feel he can take over full time. Things could have been much worse, we could have taken a 28 year old Qb in the 1st, or a punter in the 3rd

They already acknowledged that one of the reasons why Smith wasn't used as much in the wildcat was due to the shortened offseason and not being able to have a full offseason to get him ready for the season. later in the year they were forced to make him a WR because of injuries and he played well there for a replacement/fill in. He isn't going anywhere, and now with a full offseason to gameplan and get him ready, teh wildcat will be used more. Thigpen would be the one being moved/released if they drafted someone they think can be the backup over him, but more then likely, they take a guy later at the end of Day 3 for the PS I was really shocked to see that the "rookie" that the Browns took to replace him is 28 years old. Hes older then some of the veteran QB's in the league!

Good for them, unfortunatly for the Fans that still think he is thier choice and keep bringing him up, those scouts are not with the Bills who see him as a RT and not a LT Outside of darieus, I thought we declare them busts here once Goodell finishes giving them a hug at the podium.....

QB isn't the only thing, the 49ers defence is one of, if not the best defence last season. They have finally brought in some upgrades at WR, the west is SF's division right now and its not as wide open as you think. As I said about the Seahawks, it depends on if Flynn is the real deal or just another overhyped backup who made his career off of a couple good games as a 2nd stringer (Kolb? Johnson?)

I don't know about that, the 49ers are looking like they will be the top of that division for a bit, and if Flynn is the real deal, that will also make the Seahawks a contender with the 49ers
