Also, The Coyotes attendance wasn't always as bad as its been. The location of the new arena was a mistake, and with the constant talk of new owners and the team never knowing if they will be relocating next season, its not an easy sell to find people wanting to pay for season tickets. The Sabres didn't always sell out HSBC, and they had lean times too. It took a team almost making it to the finals after the lockout (being possible an injured defencemen or 2 away from a cup appearance and possible win) to get the fan base excited to the point of a waiting list for Season tickets.

Besides being well attended at home, are teh Sabres that much of a better draw for other teams on the road? Are Sabres/Panthers games in Florida being sold at Platinum Ticket levels? In Dallas? In Calgary? In Washington? In Minneosota? Sure the Sabres fans in those areas might help with attendance to some of those games, but are those teams fans making sure that they include the games against the Sabres in their mini packs because they can't wait to see the Sabres come to town?

SDS is Cheap! He needs to sell now instead of letting the board go to the highest bidder after his death and then see the board get moved to a server in LA.!

Any Jeep Grand Cherokee owners out there
apuszczalowski replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
What Motor? The 4.0L inline 6's are actually a very good reliable motor. Even the 8's are pretty reliable too. They are very similar to the ones used in the Dodge pickups (basically the same motor with a couple minor changes). I think the issues with those were the transmissions used with the v8s Otherwise, besides maybe the mileage, I don't think theres any major issues that would be any different from any other vehicle out there. And as for the mileage, they way to look at it if you are concerned about it is that you should not be looking at a heavy SUV to get decent mileage and should get a civic or a smartcar. I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab with the 4.7L v8 and my mileage is about 15-16 MPG's right now, I'm trying to see what I can do to increase that. I have owned a couple of Jeeps in my short time driving (13 years?), 2 YJs (or wranglers as you call them) and 2 Grand Cherokees (one that I drove, and another that I found out after picking it up for a couple hundred that it had a blown transmission). My experience with the Grand Cherokee that drove was a 1998 Limited (Fully loaded with the even bigger 5.9L v8 that was only put into them for one year) and besides having to fill up at ever gas station it passed, the biggest concerns for that model was the trasfer cases. The np249 cases were garbage, the newer versions they used were a bit better, but take a look at whats currently in it. The problem cases were found to be the ones were the didn't have the option to use only 2wd. They had alltime 4wd and the device inside (called a viscous coupler) that would transfer the power while driving would lock up and basically lock you into 4wd killing your gas mileage and making very tight turns difficult (like you were turning with a locked differential). I think the 2000+ models did away with the older transfer cases that contained a viscous coupler and were much better for every day city driving That was probably a lot more rambling then you were looking for, but hopefully it helped. The grands are a nice semi luxurious SUV that can go alot of places a car won't take you, and great for winter driving. -
I have a feeling it is going to be the odds on favorite to sweep the razzies this year and is going to be talked about as one of the bigger box office bombs. Its probably going to end up being this years "Cowboys vs. Aliens"

T.O. tells Dr. Phil he squandered $80 million
apuszczalowski replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not arguing, I don't think anyone (although woman may argue it) needs a pair of shoes for almost every day of the year, but thats only $6,500 of over $6 million. Thats barely a percent of his money. $6,500 in shoes isn't why he went broke As for Todzilla, We all went through those same things he did. TO didn't go broke because of 9/11 and the recession............. -
"I don't know what my legal significant other was talking about, I have pitched and catched before at the same time, Remember that time in the Bahamas Wes?" "Really Tom, you think I look just like Justin Timberlake with this hat?" "Don't worry Wes, BB just sent me the tapes yesterday from the Derby practices, I studied the horses all night and we can't lose!" "Ok Wes, you rented the outfit? Remember the agreement, you get the front and like usual, I am the horses @ss. Hopefully during the race you don't fall like you did during the final game of the season a few years ago, have you heard what they do to horses that break their legs?"

When I first heard of Shaqs degree, I figured it was an honorary degree. Its good to hear that it was earned (although you do have to wonder if his money and fame had any help with him "earning" it) But the reason why this is news is because when it comes to these star athletes atleast, its very rarely ever done. Don't knock the Womans studies or Turkish History majors out there, I'm sure they have found plenty of work in their fields and put those degrees to great use............ Sadly, those bolded items don't seem like huge expenses when you have over $6 mil. I expected more like him having a big car collection with multiple homes, not just over $10 grand in shoes, watch and a rug -
I still can't believe we stole him from the Brewers for Marcum. Marcum was a decent pitcher, but he was overrated as the Jays "Ace" that year. Lawrie goes from 2nd base in teh Brewers system, to learning third in less then one season and coming up to contribute to the team in the last couple months of last season I love watching him out there cause you can see he is truly having fun out there and realises he is getting to play a game for a living.

They probably do have financial advisers for the players to use, but you can't force them into using them. Its not the players unions fault that T.O. blew through $80 mil in his career. I did just think of something right now, its a question for papazoid Why are you watching the Dr. phil show??? They do have classes that all rookies have to attend, and some of the things they talk about with them is finances. But the problem is that they can't force players to invest, or do smart things with their money, or not have children with every woman they pick up in a bar, or not throw every dime away showing off their wealth and supporting every leach that knows them. Its something that they have to think about and do on their own -

Mind Dump on Stadium Building ?
apuszczalowski replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These Billionaires didn't get to where they are by spending all of their money. The reason they want Tax dollars to help pay for these stadiums is because, well, they can. From their point of view, they look at it as the stadium also being something that will help the surrounding area. Stadiums bring in huge groups of people to one place which means that surrounding businesses should see increased business, the stadium will bring in tax money to the local government, etc. Local Governments can use the building of a new stadium as a way to improve the infrastructure in that area and possibly open up new areas for development. If the owners are told they have to pay the entire cost for a new stadium to be built, they deserve the right to also be able to pick up their franchise an relocate it wherever they feel they can make a better profit. Alot of the tax money used to pay for the new stadiums being built aren't donations given to the team/owner, many of them are long term loans/bonds that are paid back by the team in the form of lease agreements or yearly payments. The NFl also has a program already that gives teams loans to help with the cost of building new stadiums. Theres always arguements about what tax money is spent on because not everyones tax dollars are spent on stuff they take advanatage of. I could be against my tax dollars funding public transportation because I own my own car and don't use it. I could be against my tax dollars going to upgrade sewers and water supply lines because I live outside the urban area and have a septic system and a well/cistern on my property. I could be against putting tax money towards a new basketball arena because I don't watch basketball, but be all for tax dollars being used for a new baseball stadium cause I support the local baseball team. -

Congrats T.O. And I won't shed one single tear for anyone who is basically handed a lottery win because they are physically blessed to play a game for a living and make more then what most people will in a lifetime, then throw it all away because they thought the gravy train would never end. You had your chance at living very comfortably for the rest of your life not having to work, instead, you can join the rest of us working people now and put your college degree to work for you -
Who do you want for Emergency QB in 2012?
apuszczalowski replied to Mr_Blizzard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Drew Brees, Peyton Manning in his prime, or Aaron Rodgers Currently on the Roster theres the 3rd stringer, Brad Smith, Brian Moorman has thrown passes before (really screw the opponent up by faking punts every down) plus a few other guys have experience from highschool I believe -

I know that there was some good stuff that came out of the 70's, just like there was some good stuff from the 80's too, But when most think of the 70's its the disco era, and bell bottoms -

The 80's were horrible to look back on, alot of garbage "music" came out during that decade Growing up in the 80's, but missing the 70's, I really wonder which decade was more embarrassing to look back on? The Disco era 70's or the Poppy/techno/hair band 80's?
