playoff team sure, I said early on last year they should be in the playoffs championship caliber? maybe if you remove the defending SB champion Chiefs, the Ravens, and a few others they might be. Lets see what they do playing against some much better competition this year

They are the AFCE team to beat because they rest of the division isn't anything special right now. Jets are garbage, Dolphins are getting alot of hype right now and could end up dethroning the Bills as the 'team to beat' if Tua is healthy, and with brady gone and the Pats stubbornly looking at sticking with their unknown backup as starter, its not like this division is scaring anyone. And in those 17 years, there were a few times they came close. They made the playoffs twice but needed a miracle from the Bengals the first year to then get embarrassed by the jags, and had a soft cupcake schedule this year where they didn't have to beat teams with winning records to make the playoffs where they blow the game to the Texans....

Isn't it usually 3rd round (but mostly 4th and later) that you start seeing tams taking chances on the question mark players that would have been taken earlier.....

i would be worried if I was a draftee that didn't have a tragic story for them. next thing you know, grandma is walking to the bathroom and ESPN is there to catch her slipping.....

the 49ers had a good defence and a capable offence, and they lost to the team with one of the best offences and a capable defence (at times)

Well they did go deep in the playoffs last year (surprisingly to me because I always seemed to forget about them and don't think they did anything impressive all year but quietly win games). They still have one of the top QBs in the game and are now ready to have someone to replace him when he is done.

I agree that passing on a WR now isn't a huge deal unless that player is going to step in and be better then Diggs, Brown or Beasley Theres FAs and later picks to find guys to upgrade over Foster/Mackenzie/Duke/etc.

In todays NFL, the best teams are going all-in on offence and looking at defence as the spot to hopefully make a few stops when needed so you can hold a lead The Bills front office is old school in that they think you need a great defence that will prevent the other team from scoring, and on offence that can do just enough to hopefully score one more then the other. Against a high powered offence like the ravens and the Chiefs, they might stay in the game for a while as the defence makes some stops, but the offence needs to still put up big numbers to get a lead.

Sure, but going into the games you have to try and win them before you can win them. No one said winnings bad, but like many said last year, the league now requires offences that can put up points to carry a team to victory, not one that needs a defence to keep the score low so they have a chance.

I guess corner D-line guys it helps because they typically need speed to get around to the QB, but o-line and middle d-linemen, its more about power/strength then how fast.

I feel the same way, I'm not saying they didn't get a good player, but its the same every year, they pick up offence through FA and draft for Defence. They have a couple good players on offence and have made one upgrade to it this offseason getting Diggs. The defence was one of the best last year and the offence struggled to score points. The offence wasn't going to win games last year without the defence having a big game. when the defence struggled, they were almost guaranteed to lose

But thats it...... The offence was the achillies heel of this team and we all saw that they needed the defence to play lights out to give them a chance to win games. If the defence struggled, the game would get ugly....

But they believe defence wins championships....

Doesn't matter cause according to most here you can get a RB anywhere and put them in to be effective, you don't have to waste assets on good ones.....

maybe the ones whining about 'tippers' are ruining it for those who aren't watching the telecast? its much better entertainment watching 'adults' (Im guessing) having temper tantrums because an internet message board is providing info faster then the TV broadcast they are watching. If you really don't want to be spoiled, put down your phone and focus on your TV......
