TV Characters you couldn't stand
apuszczalowski replied to Mark Vader's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Never had a problem with the Doug character, although at times he could be too Goofy/Dumb. Carrie though, along with Deborah on "Everybody Loves Raymond' annoyed me. -
Examining Brandon Beane’s comp pick hack
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think they have outlived their purpose, but I think the problem is that some organizations are milking the system for not what it was intended for. The Pats for most of their run, have been able to let go of high end players at the end of their prime and other teams were suckered into giving them big deals that helped the Pats return. They were also able to get higher end players to sign cheaper deals to get a chance to play for a championship so it swung the comp pick equation in their favour. -
Examining Brandon Beane’s comp pick hack

I think of moneyball in Baseball the same way. it worked great for the A's when they were the only ones doing it, but once other teams started adopting it, those teams start doing the same and the demand starts going up for those players and it just swings the market in a different direction. It works great when your one of the few doing it, but it gets harder to do when everyones trying it. -

But wouldn't Polian be able to chose the coaches? At times I remember that team having talent on offence but lacking a defence -

He also did that with one of the greatest QBs of all time, they should have had better success having manning like they did -

More 5th year players contracts not picked up
apuszczalowski replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder if the Patriots try to make a deal to get him or Rosen. Seems like something BB would do, grab a highly drafted QB that someone else has given up on and bring them in to turn them around under his system. These guys obviously have the talent since they were drafted as high as they were, they probably just need to find the right fit -
Saints and Panthers violated draft rules
apuszczalowski replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is there a maximum that a team can give an UDFA in an offer? There isn't one for draft picks so they could always work out a better deal as a draft pick with the Saints then as a UDFA -
Biggest concert “miss”, biggest concert “letdown”?
apuszczalowski replied to 4_kidd_4's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Regret was probably The Tragically Hip at 'Butlers Barricks' in Niagara on the Lake. It was one of the first summer concerts held at the Fort (Dallas Green/City and Colour and another band had played since. I had bought a bunch of tickets to go and everyone that was supposed to go with me backed out (Friends wife was pregnant, so was mine, and my brother wasn't really interested). Ended up selling them at a loss. Never had a chance to see them play live Miss was probably part of a show. I was at a festival show they used to do for a radio station north of Toronto, one of the bands that day was Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains when he did his solo tour. He walked off after few few songs. It was a hot July day,he had equipment issues after he had to go on early cause Sevendust who were supposed to go on before had a delay at the border so they decided to get Jerry to go on early in their place. Played. Couple songs with technical issues, complained that his equipment was melting in the heat, swore a few times and refered to Sevendust as 'Seven*****' before ending a tantrum by storming off the stage. Sevendust came on later and were great. It may have been the same show, but I remember I was at a festival show were Cake was one of the later bands to play. Wasn't a huge fan of them but thought a couple of their songs were ok. The came out to play, were really cocky and full of themselves, people started throwing water bottles at the stage and they stormed off before finishing their set. -

Unlike that reality show Seinfeld. Shocked that none of them noticed the cameras just hanging around their day to day life all that time........ -
Saints and Panthers violated draft rules
apuszczalowski replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok, this makes a little more sense as to why the Saints were also punished. I was wondering why they were getting fined for drafting a player the Panthers wanted and were negotiating with. Makes sense that they were both making offers and it sounded like the Saints wanted him and since they were losing the bidding war they decided to get a pick to take him in the 7th instead. It doesn't make sense however why they wanted him so badly to have 4 QBs on the roster. I think they say he is a similar QB to Hill, but it wasn't long after the draft they also took Winston. Either there's a chance that Brees may not make it past Training Camp and retires, they plan on using/keeping Hill on the roster less as a QB and more as a gadget player WR/RB, or they are cocky/Dumb enough to think they can sneak him onto their PS. Or they think that Brees and their staff can turn around Winston during training camp and make him a good trade chip before the season starts...... -
Dalton to the Cowboys 1yr $7M per Schefter
apuszczalowski replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I said earlier this offseason that I could see him going to NE and starting, Now even more so. I think it's the perfect spot. A highly rated draft pick a couple years ago (was talked about as a potential #1 overall that year at some points) who has yet to develop after being passed around. Think about BBs legend if he could take in Rosen and turn him into their next Brady this offseason? They could get him for very little when the Dolphins dump him -

I think Newton ends up in Jacksonville Don't think he is the kind of QB BB wants for his system. Shocked to see Dalton sign for so little in Falls as a backup so quickly. Would have figured he holds out for a bit to try to find a place he has a better chance of starting in and if nothing came up signing as a backup. -
Top Five Professional Wrestlers of All Time
apuszczalowski replied to Logic's topic in Off the Wall Archives
This is tough to do because there's really 2 categories, in ring/technical ability and Mike skills/character. For me, someone like Hogan would be at the top of the 2nd category but not very high in the first one. Benoit would fit in the opposite to me, near the top of the first but much lower in the second. I would put someone like Jericho in a balance between the 2 -
What? That cover by Wes from Puddle of Mud was amazing............ If you were looking for a good laugh. That's what I thought, there was one of their videos where they all wore dresses while performing on I believe the Ed Sullivan Show.... Bigger shocker is find a current photo of Love and Novelselic. I couldn't believe it was her, and you would never guess seeing him now that he was part of Nirvana..... On the other hand, Dave hasn't changed a bit......

Jameis Winston signing 1-year deal with Saints
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Smart move, go and be a backup on a good team with one of the best QB and coaching combos in the league, spend the season learning from them and go into next offseason trying to get a starting job. He's still young and had the corrective eye surgery. He could still turn things around. -

I think thats what most are saying, he doesn't seem like an upgrade, probably could have been taken as an UDFA -

He was shaky the year before the Bills brought him in too, he has gone through ups and downs. I think the issue here is that they used a pick to grab somone whos only upgrade may be their age which doesn't always affect a player at that position (How many kickers still play into their late 30's/early 40's?) -

Both bills and pats get F grades on CBS for taking kickers, they did say bass is one of the best in this class, if that says much? -

how many kickers ever come in and grow/develop? It seems like the one position where either the player comes in and makes it or they fall out of the league -

Looking at the list of available Kickers, they probably could have waited til after the draft to grab him cause not many look impressive......
