We gotta find a way to lose this one boys.
apuszczalowski replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As for shelving Allen and worrying about his confidence, if that is going to be a problem for him he will never be a franchise starter. All they have to do is walk up to him and say "Hey kid, we really think your our future out there and love your potential, but right now, we don't want to see you get killed out there and think its better if you sit back this season and just watch from the sidelines for the last half of the year. Learn as much as you can being around the team and practice, get advise and work with Anderson, and next year we will get you in to start and show us what you got" Its not like they are just going to walk up to him and say, you looked like garbage out there, and got hurt so we don't want to see you on the field again this year. But even then, if saying something like that will destroy his confidence he would never have made it in the league. The guys that will succeed are ones that if they are told they suck and won't make it, they go back and work 10x's harder to prove those naysayers wrong. They use it to motivate them to get better and prove people wrong. Its something that every teams fan believes and says, and is told by their teams, that they are the best fans in the world. -

Actually, I don't think you do, its been one of the most widely misused terms used, especailly in Buffalo the last 5-10 years.... Tanking, in pro sports, is intentionally trying to lose games and not win in order to have the best chance of gaining a better pick in a draft Its something fans came up with to make themselves feel better about their team being bad because by doing this they will magically be better when they can get that top draft pick. -
Exactly I don't know whats worse, the fact this made national sports news, or the fact that a pro football team employing multi millionaires had an issue where players were taking workout clothing, provided to them to use during practice, home and not returning them AND the patriots felt they needed to do something to stop this (because it was costing them money) so they thought changing the colour would make them less attractive to steal?

Until someone videos him doing it and former teamates offer him jobs? Worked for the Cosby show guy........ Yeah, this is definitely embarrassing and making the franchise look like a joke. Oh wait, your not talking about Peterman continuing to get starts? Something that the rest of the NFL finds absolutely hilarious This is definitely more embarrassing then the classy respectable drunken tail gates, BJs for Kiko jerseys, table smashing and ***** throwing Bills fans are known for........ No one has ever said that he is a horrible person or they hate him as a human Its not like they want to put up a Billboard telling him to go kill himself........

The church of Peterman out in full force... As some have already said, if your stupid enough to donate money for anything on a 'go fund me' page, you deserve to lose it. If this guy puts up a billboard with the money, good for him, its going to look 100xs better to the rest of the NFL world that fans want to get rid of a QB that's become a national joke then the image of the typical alcoholic imbicile putting themselves through a table in the parking lot before a game like they have been known for now. If the guy takes the money and runs with it, if authorities care, they will go after them

No it isnt, dont you just flip a switch and it's a winning culture after losing for years and intentionally losing for picks? A .500 team with a chance to make the playoffs is much more enjoyable to watch then a 2-14 team that theres no guarantee things are going to get better. I would much rather have seasons where I hope they make the playoffs over where I hope that all the losing will maybe make the team get back to being .500 eventually -
Hockey is fast paced for the casual sports fan
apuszczalowski replied to Jrb1979's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yeah, basketball you can tune into the last couple minutes and basically catch the game. The entire game sees lead changes all game and just goes back and forth scoring. At least with hockey they go back and forth but they dont score every time. I can see how that can bore some people. You would think soccer would be different, but unlike hockey, I find it even more boring cause the field is so much bigger and it's even less likely you will see a goal scored. Baseball, like football, is slower because theres more strategy to the game. Baseball has more matchup play and is just slower pace on general. And I think the reason for hockey not having a big American following is because it's a cold weather sport, and half the country isnt in a climate that is needed to play it. In almost all of Canada, winter are cold and snowy and most sports cant be played in those conditions, in the south you dont see much ice or snow so you can still play other sports later in the year. -

Again, no ones saying he's not good, but he isnt playing so amazing like Mahommes, or carrying his team to wins like Goff or Brees. No one was saying he sucks cause he is only putting up 250 yards. The Texans arent 6-3 because of the QB play, they won some close games against bad teams by luck (Broncos missing a last second FG and Pick6man coming in and throwing a pick 6 at the end of a game they were close to losing at the end that Watson had not played well in) As for the Bill's comment, of course the fans would be thinking HOF if he put up those numbers here, just look at who Bill's fans have had to watch play QB over the last 5 years....... There are people here who still think Peterman is good and just needs more time...... -

Depends on if he gets claimed or not. For teams out of the hint you bring in guys like this to get a look at them as potential keepers. Most teams give 1 year deals cause they dont want to get tied to a castoff at this point before FA and just want someone to finish the year. At his age, he could be worth taking a flier on for the rest of the season. -
Gaines released....Wallace promoted
apuszczalowski replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that they had enough of watching him play and figured he wasnt worth keeping anymore even as a backup so they decided to promote someone from the practice squad. It's not like they need him for a playoff run. He only needed about 1 more PI call to give up more yards on 4 plays then the Bill's defence in a good a Game. I doubt he gets claimed or picked up, so if they get desperate due to injuries, I'm sure they could re sign him -

Depends on how serious Ivorys injury is. The reports made it sound serious after the game, but McDermott made it sound like nothing on the radio the next day. The reports said he was taken to the Erie County trauma centre for it after which reminded me of the Jay's Outfielder Kevin Pillar diving to make a catch and hurting his shoulder. He left the game and went to the hospital where they said he was lucky cause the injury was close to being fatal like being in a car accident. -

Not arguing this, my point though is that their win loss record has little to do with Watsons play and more about getting lucky. They almost blew a game last week against the Broncos who missed a makeable FG, the Bill's almost beat them until Allen left the game and Pick6man came in and threw them the game winner. Watson is good, but having an offence ranked where they are is the middle of the NFL, so average. They appear to have a worse oline but better WRs. -
Peterman actually played quite well!
apuszczalowski replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So the previous QB took care of not turning over the ball, didnt put up a ton of passing yards or points but was the starter when the team would win (with worse defensive play) is run out of town and thought to be one of the worst QBs ever. Peterman turns the ball over regularly, whether you want to give him credit or not for the INTs the ball is still ending up in the defenses hands after he throws it, doesnt put up much passing yards or points and with an improved defence cant get wins when he starts, but we all need to see more of him so the Bill's dont give up on a 5th round pick QB whose upside when drafted was "backup at best". You just really cant give up on those day 3 picks too soon....... -

I brought it up earlier. Their defence beat the Bill's with Pick 6s at the end of the game. They got a win Sunday because the Denver kicker missed a last second FG. They arent winning because of Watson, it's not like KC where they are winning because of Mahommes right now. That's not to say that Watson isnt or wont be a good QB, but let's not go overboard with jealousy over not having him because of his play this season. He has been pretty average stats wise while really lucky getting wins. Also, he has been sacked the most in the league IIRC from earlier? So to say he would look so much worse playing in Buffalo might be a stretch cause it seems the Texans oline might be worse....... Not to defend the WRs here as they arent great, but maybe better QB play makes them look better? They have seen passes from over 4 (going on 5 QBs) in practice and games since training camp, and it's been a revolving door at starter so it cant be easy to get used to that many different QBs throwing the ball and working out timing. -

When your only completing 3-5 yards per pass, you have to throw it a ton to move the ball. Brees can throw 20 times a game, but when he is throwing 72 yard TDs, you dont need to have many attempts -

It's possible any RB available ends up in NE since they are down to using a WR as their RB now. We will at least be subject to a good 15-20 minute pre SB segment on him where everyone will be talking about how Detroit had no idea what they had and how NE found another Diamond in the rough. This will probably be shown around the 45 minute segment on how NE transformed Gordon and turned his life around, saving it for good. -

He isnt the 3rd stringer, he was the starter this season. I cant believe the love shown here to a scrub QB who has shown on multiple occasions he isnt an NFL QB. Yet he needs more chances, or cant be evaluated because of the rest of his team.
