Rams are really regretting taking a RB in the 1st, good ones can be found everywhere, you never use high picks on them, Giants are realizing the same thing.....

I dont think Allen can start after the Bye after Barkleys play today unless you want to lose the team. Allen fans can hope for Barkley to suck or come back to earth against the Jags to get the spot back, but the offence came alive today, how do you expect the rest of the team to react if they are told they are making a QB change again? The whole plan for the season was for Allen to sit as long as possible and learn, he came in cause they had not other choice. Now they may have bought some time and not have to rush Allen back in again. -

Put Anderson on IR and let him just hang around and help develop Allen without taking up a roster spot and let another team steal away the diamond in the rough Peterman...... -

It's like having a competent NFL QB on the field helps? Too bad Nate never got to play with this offence.... -

Is it? I thought Darnold was supposed to be good to go as the backup? I missed the pregame so I'm guessing his status changed? -
Accused of Rape/Sexual Assualt, Punching a Cab Driver, known partier/drinker Yeah, built up way too much, not like that other Kane that just left..........

He's a great hockey player, but one of those home town guys you probably would not be wise to have brought here to play. I think surrounding him with all his friends would just lead him to more trouble. Just coming home to visit in the offseason hes had an alleged rape, and before that an assault of a cab driver.

13 Killed; 18 Hurt in So. Cal. Bar Mass Shooting

Yeah, much easier to have every building in the country fitted with metal detectors and additional security over trampling on someones right to bear arms in case they need to protect themselves from a tyrannical government while sitting in a bar/place of worship/yoga study/school....... -
Yeah, he is the backup to the #1 overall pick in this years draft, it was their plan all along to start Taylor until they felt Mayfield should take the reins. It's not like Mayfield is just blowing the league away with his play that they have no choice but to bench Taylor.

Sorry mrs Peterman, your right what else could they do but start your boy. Oh yeah, they could have actually brought someone in capable of playing even mediocre football in the NFL instead of starting the season with almost 0 NFL experience at the QB position. After the mess of the Baltimore game, they could have brought in options to have a somewhat capable backup QB behind Allen instead of waiting til over 1/3 of the season is over. But how could you give up on the gem that is Nate and all that promise he has shown in the half games he makes it through in his starts? You cant just give up on a guy like that....... Except that Allen had some success in college, enough that scouts had him as a 1st rounder with the potential to be one of the best from the draft of he reached his potential. Some even said it was possible he could go 1st overall. I'm sure Nate had similar scouting reports on him. I remember the debates by the writers who fought over how Nate was going to go 1st overall ........ I wont argue that he should be sitting and watching, and that it seems crazy that these guys would hitch the careers on the biggest boom/bust prospect at the position. Even crazier that they didnt spend the offseason putting every resource into getting him as much talent as possible to surround him and the best coaches and experts to work with him.

I have said it many times recently, that I cant believe how many people keep defending or saying that Nate deserves more chances when he hasnt shown anything in real games or much in his college career that would say he deserves as many chances or more as he has had to this point to play in the NFL.....

To be honest, and not trying to make this political, but he is banking on this being a success by cashing in on the trump supporters who are so offended by the NFL and the kneeling 'anti military/flag/'merica!' Players who have chased away the bleedin red white and blue good ole boys who cant watch it any more. They want the people offended by the league 'wussifying' the game to come watch their product that they will try to be more 'hard hitting' and exciting.

The South park episode is true When its a female teacher doing it to a student, that student is usually congratulated from those hearing the news and the reaction is "Nice...." When a male teacher does it to a student, its rape, the male is a disgusting foul, horrible human piece of filth who should be strung up and killed for doing something to a child.

Hockey is fast paced for the casual sports fan
apuszczalowski replied to Jrb1979's topic in Off the Wall Archives
i was about to say the exact same thing , Hockey is also one of the most expensive sports to play, not counting registration fees for a league and facilities to play it Just the equipment alone can costs hundreds of dollars buying second hand, to be the goalie you can almost double that. Growing up it was usually the wealthier families that had their kids playing hockey cause it just wasn't affordable for an average family to have a child in. Soccer is cheap, Only one ball is required, and if you wanted to go high end, some shin pads and cleats are your equipment. Baseball still isnt that expensive, A glove will cost a bit for a really good one, but its something that doesn't need to be replaced often, and can get better the more worn it gets (they mentioned during the playoffs one year Tulowitzki on the Jays, his glove is extremely old and keeps getting repaired all the time, he has used the same one almost his entire career). Bats in some leagues are typically supplied to teams, or you can get your own. Batting gloves and cleats are probably your biggest expenses. Also its true that Ice Hockey requires an additional skill of having to know how to skate, and skate well to play.
