TV Shows You Want Rebooted
apuszczalowski replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Tim Allen and Richard Karn (Al) were up for it and talking about it a few years ago. With ABC dropping Allen's current show 'last man standing' I dont see it happening, but it was discussed And they were in favour of it. Patricia Richardson and Jonathan Taylor Thomas have had parts on his 'Last man standing' so I'm sure they would also be up for it. The youngest kid probably needs the money too. Mentioning Quantum Leap just makes me think about the episode of Its Always Sunny 'The Gang Turns Black' where he is working in the retirement home and sings a song to Ziggy about taking him back to the 80s......could be a good premise for a reboot of the show? -
I dont know about their GM or that it matters much, but in his first year he led them to the playoffs AND Won the game. If McDermott cant be on the hot seat for the team taking a giant step back after falling backwards into a playoff spot, how will Reich be on the hot seat after winning at least one playoff game in his first try?

Tampa Bay: hires new HC Bruce Arians
apuszczalowski replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You didnt read the pinned post at the top of the board I guess. The purple user names are to indicate when posters are in the new 'prospect' probationary period as a new member to the board. Members will be in this period until they reach a certain level and then they will get normal status with all the privileges. Part of a condition in Arians contract? He only takes the deal if they get him suspended for a year...... -
They should also make the day after each game in the World series as a holiday. The US can have the World Series, Canada can have the Stanley Cup Finals....... I think he is implying that making it a National Holiday would put it at the same level as other national holidays by giving it the honor of being a holiday too.

There was no guarantee the results would have been the same as what's happening in Indy now, it could have easily been a complete clusterf**k At the time he was a coaching assistant IIRC. He had not had much success as a coach or co ordinator but was viewed as a potential future candidate. It would have made more sense the last time when they hired McDermott, but even then he was still inexperienced. This article just seems like piling on bashing the previous front office while gloating about 'being right'.

Yeah, WWE taking over WCW was one of the worst things to happen to the Pro Wrestling industry because it left them no real viable competition and allowed them to just do what they wanted because they were the only big dog left. ROH has had talent, but doesn't seem to have the financial backing to get it to the next level so that talent ends up leaving and they look more like a farm/minor league promotion TNA was probably the closest, but they seemed to run into issues with control/ownership and faded away. Billy Corgan of the Band the Smashing Pumpkins almost owned/ran it before he was screwed over and bought another small promotion. TNA started out innovative but then sort of fell back into the typical mould and never gained enough traction This new promotion will need finances to get it off the ground and will need to put out a good product to get any type of foothold to compete with the WWE. Seeing as how there are some names as part of this, it will help possibly bringing over some bigger talent to attract the fans.

TV Shows You Want Rebooted

I think too many people believe things to be much worse then they are today. If you re-watch some of the old Married with Children episodes, they actually seem to be tamer then you would think. The most backlash it might face would be from feminist groups attacking it for the Nuddie bar. There wasn't too much that would be deemed 'Offensive' -
Its been more then a year since the last one came out (not including the new cartoon one if that counts as a reboot?) so its about time they reboot it and start fresh........... Wasn't it remade within the last decade or so? Just looked it up, there was a video game released that I think resparked some interest in the old movie. There looks like in the last 5 years or so theres been talk of a remake being made along with a TV show for HULU Sequels already coming IIRC Yeah, thats the problem, there are some movies that have sequels that were 'straight to dvd/video' that many never new were made (which might be a good thing) I think there were like 4 'Home Alones' made

You know you can't deny after showing this evidence, you may not have been purchasing, but maybe you, like Rex Ryan, were "Just browsing" on those sites? How much worse could it be admitting you frequent a Miami Hurricanes board?

it will be interesting to see what happens, for the good of Professional wrestling, WWE needs some quality competition like WCW was back in the day But its probably more likely that it becomes another TNA promotion that looks promising but gets crushed by the giant (WWE) over time

The Bills need good WRs, thats not debatable and I doubt theres anyone who would argue against that But looking through the big names you listed, I wouldn't say that any of them are the reason why their team never won a SB, some of them may have been key reasons why their team was in contention for one. Many were drafted early and ended up on bad teams that couldn't put the all the pieces together to win a championship This argument is the same as the Debate over franchise QBs. How many SB championships do Kelly, Marino, Tarkenton, Fouts, & Moon have? Combined they have less then Mark Rypien, or Brad Johnson, or Trent Dilfer. So you don't need a franchise QB..........

They need talented WRs who can catch, thats whats going to help Allen develop, because if they can catch the ball, his stats get better and the team wins. A guy like Green is a high end proven talent, might not come cheap but atleast you know that he can play at a high level. This team doesn't need more lottery ticket "high ceiling" potential guys. That will hurt his development unless they hit on the pick and find some hidden talent which has less odds of happening. Giving Allen more of the same WRs as this last year may have him retiring at half time.....

Having games on Monday and Thursday added to their schedule and increased TV money by adding more games to a nationally televised schedule. For the NFL it could cost them broadcasting money from advertisers cause a typical Saturday gives the non football fans plenty of other options of things to do. The biggest hit would come from Bars and restaurants who now will have an already busy day become a bit busier and lose the extra days revenue as they go back to having a dead Sunday night. If your a bar or Restaurant Owner, you probably want one of your busiest and profitable days (Saturday) to stay as is and get an extra busy day on Sunday to increase revenue for that time. As for productivity, is it any worse then say 'Cyber monday' for lost productivity? I thought that was determined to be one of the least productive days of the year. Should it become a National Holiday too?

Tampa Bay: hires new HC Bruce Arians

Thought I heard this too. Had they picked up his option when he retired, they would still have his rights, but they declined to do it and he was a FA, thought I read somewhere they said the Bucs didn't ask for any permission from the Cards This makes me wonder how bad things are in Arizona? Seems like the health concerns weren't as bad as they first made them out to be and maybe just a way to get out of there. His retirement lasted one season and he didn't have to be coaxed out of retirement, he was talking about wanting openings before the season ended. -
yeah, I'm sure the African american Community will enjoy that their one big holiday is going to become the 'Official Hang over Day' after the Super Bowl. I think most teams and Mayors of the winning Cities the last few years have been creating letters for the fans to use to call in sick or take the day off after they win...

I bet bars and restaurants along with networks would prefer to keep it prime time on Sunday. Saturdays are already one of the busiest nights for restaurants and bars, sundays are typically a slower night, so keeping it as is allows them to keep Saturday as a regular busy night and make a typically slow Sunday and make it a busier night and make extra revenue.the networks always broadcast big events like awards shows on Sunday nights for the ratings, Saturday is not a good ratings night. Many non football fans tune in or go to parties even if they arent football fans not for the actual game, but because it's a Sunday night and usually not a night with other options to do things.

I dont agree that election days should be paid holidays either. I know here that most employers are required to provide each employee I believe an hour during work to vote if they are working and may not be able to otherwise. But you dont need a full day to do it and people shouldn't need a full day off of work closing all businesses down just to do it. Just like the few who have no self control and cant spend a few hours watching sports without getting so inebriated they will have trouble functioning the next day should be given a paid day off because the NFL played their championship game the night before. If you want to party hard during the game, take a sick day or vacation day on Monday. If you cant do that, maybe reevaluate your situation and lifestyle and figure out what's more important I have never had an issue getting to work the day after the Superbowl, it's just another Monday..........

We dont get a paid holiday off each month here. We pretty much get the same as you except some are under different names New Years Day (Jan) Family Day (Feb) Good Friday (Mar/Apr) Easter Monday (Mar/Apr)* Victoria Day (May) Canada Day (July) Civic Holiday (Aug)* Labour Day (Sept) Thanksgiving (Oct) Remembrance Day (Nov)* Christmas Day (Dec) Boxing Day (Dec) * - those holidays are bank and government holidays and are not mandatory for all I believe that some of those fall on days where you already have a different holiday such as presidents Day or MLK Day. I would say the Oscar's come pretty close to the SB in terms of public interest. Many people have viewing parties and get togethers, along with pools for guessing winners just like the SB. Except that the SB is probably more testosterone fueled drinking environment then an Oscar Party. It's not that much bigger of an event....

I dont like the idea of staying in someone elses house, even if today the house is used solely as a rental business for the owner and it's not their main residence. At least with a good hotel you know that things are regulated when it comes to cleaning a room after a guest has stayed there.
