  1. the best single addition we can have is a DT of the top caliber -- pat williams comes to my mind. getting a good G and either another G or C will move our O line forward in a big way. if we get 2 to 4 new big men we will be pretty solid next year, if we sign nate tho.
  2. if we had managed to sign pickett we would be a better d
  3. this strikes me the same as the pple who said they'd take brandon spoon over london when we signed london. atrain over mcgahee = on drugs insane
  4. you resent the attitude you perceive wills to show, but don't REALLY thing willis isn't better than train, do you? with willis in there we are a 2nd big physical WR and RT and interior lineman away from really being able to impose our will on opponents. i admit to selling jp short too early, it's time for willis haters to scarf a plate of crow wings.
  5. all the talk about getting rid of willis was crap. we are a much better team with him and have room for him and the train
  6. i've been down on JP for a while. he shows spurts of strong ability, he showed that for nearly the entire game yesterday. his work at the end really impressed me. that said, i still want to see more. i've not really been one of these nall ball guys, let the kid play, but i really think we need the rest of the season to see if he can do it more than once in a while. i've also noted we really need willis. if we can get a little going in the passing game, willis is just a nightmare for opponents to tackle with only 7 up at the line.
  7. rivers was a 4th overall pick who had the goods to go first overall. jp is an erratic all over the place not good qb who should have slipped to the 3rd or 4th round. many young qbs are better looking than jp is, he isn't good and never will be.
  8. game plan gave us the best chance to win. the oline and jp couldn't do jack even when given a couple of easy chances. if jp was an even average nfl qb he would have made some kind of play at some point that would have resulted in scoring. he's supposed to be fast and mobil, but just stands like a retard in the pocket and gets clocked. we need 2 or 3 new/imporved linemen (some are young and will get better) and we need a new qb.
  9. jp should run more also, he is only looking for one wr on almost every play, he isn't good
  10. we have a bad o line this means that most of the time jp won't get as much time as he would like. when he doesn't get time he is garbage: fumbles sacks ints, missed passes when he does get time he is not good: underthrows, ints, pour touch. our line needs to improve but our quarterback play is easily our biggest weakness
  11. jp is worse than rj was. at least rj put up big numbers and ran for big runs once in a while, they both have the same easy to exploit weaknesses
  12. jp played bad, if not terrible, in the 1st NE, detroit, miami, and GB games and we managed to win 2 of them. if he played just OK we would have won 4 of them and have been 5-3. if he played very well against the jests (as opposed to well in parts, but with bad errors in others) we would have won that too and be 6-2 with losses to NE and the bears on the road. if JP was an average to good quarterback we'd be a winning division contending young team right now. he isn't and we aren't woth considering in the NFL landscape.
  13. phat pat was my fav bill for like 5 years. he was the most underated DT in the nfl and dr z and a couple others noticed the whole time. he was a guy who plugs it up and gets enough of a pass rush in to get pressure in the middle, allowing all kinds of good stuff too happen on blitzes. he is a rare hard working talented tough DT and we were retarded for letting him go. i tried to justify it to myself saying he was old and expensive, but he is just plain good
  14. jp is not good. he needs to improve and not regress YET AGAIN by the end of the year to be worth his roster spot. there are about 40+ nfl qbs (including back ups of course) who are better than JP right now, and jp hasn't shown much in terms of improvement from his first game last year against houston.
  15. i don't think we should start nall, but i'll be pretty surprised if JP is anything but crap. he hasn't shown much, and each time he does he turns into a turnover machine or the ultimate "you suck so don't lose the game no your own" QB. we have won 3 games this season. he was decent against Minni who can't produce any pass rush at all. he was a non factor against miami he was a non factor against GB (he made one play to a wide open guy on a blown coverage). he brings nothing and there are 20 qbs who can step in today and do better (altho prolly not nall). that said i hope he snaps into it and figures out what he needs to do and finishes how he started.
  16. i want jp to run at least 5 times agains the dolts
  17. i'm not saying that we should pull jp, not unless he REALLY stinks it up early next week, but i am saying i'm nearly convinced he is no good. he is just not effective as an NFL QB. the only 2 things he has shown any ability on is running and the deep bomb. he had one solid play all day today. he doesn't see open targets and is a very poor quarterback when it comes to the blitz. he has looked good once or twice in his life, but has regressed since early in the season and frankly i don't see how he is going to make our team better. his best games come when he does less damage than positive plays (as opposed to going out and taking the game over) and that just isn't good enough. couple that with the fact the he is NOT steady, is just a fool when getting blitzed, and lacks touch on short passes and you have a QB that i think we are just about ready to throw on the scrap heap. i really hope he is better than this and i am wrong, but he has shown me no more than guys like bollinger, holcombe (who i really don't want to start) harrington and other straight average caretaker qbs
  18. CBs are more valuable than WRs in the NFL, they are rarer
