22 coaches in the Super Bowl era have over a. 600 winning % in the regular season. 19 of them have a conference championship.  The three who do not are Matt LaFleur, Marty Schottenheimer, and Sean McDermott. Does a couple regular season wins change the narrative?

this is the crux of it right here.

mcd's coaching/ the team performance (the man said himself that this is a results league, so it's more than fair to judge him by the team's results) in the playoffs has fallen flat, particularly on the defensive side, too many times.

getting us there is one thing, but we all know the talent on this team is enough for a reasonable coach to get us there.  mcd will ultimately be judged on  his results at the top of the heap.  after an abysmal start to his coaching over the first 12 or so games this season, he's on a path now that could enshrine him as the bills goat, so he can't cry unfair (not that i think he would)

    The Josh effect ??

    That's exactly what it was.

The book on how to beat josh Allen is to trick and confuse him, be totally disciplined in the back end, spy, and wait for him to make a mistake.  Yes have done this by disguising coverages but going hard on zone and baiting certain throws.

The thing is, now that we can run the ball, this zone coverage and the spy and spread out d that you put in place to keep Allen from killing you means we get a hat on a hat and cook can make guys miss.  We also torched man d w our run game today too.

Imo the biggest part of it is our wrs do not do well getting separation or making contested catches vs physical/dirty d play.  I think we've flipped that on teams by running the ball this year.

Imo, we will just keep this up and teams will have to bring in a third lb or just flood the box w their little dbs.  If they get caught doing that they are in for a world of hurt.

  3. If I were a bird, I'd be one who targets mcds parked car enough to draw bb gun fire.

He lost the plot in the second half vs Philly, but post bye week he's turned a corner.

It's not play calling and scheme, that's been great mind you, it's how prepared and reved up and confident the guys are.

Phillips and Lawson made real impacts on the game, stepping up for injured players and being responsible while being on tilt and aggressive.

I've pointed out all the things that our team breaks my heart with, and how that is quite often largely related to coaching, so the least I can do is point out when the coaches have the team like some wolves in a pack just slaughtering a convoy.

Even the garbage time drives had the cowboys having to earn every yard.

  4. I gotta say, I don't think there's an NFL d who can consistently stop our run game without 3 LBS on the field, which nearly no one does anymore.

Our 3 rbs can all play, obviously cook is the super star.  The tight ends and wrs are getting on their blocks too.

Dallas stayed disciplined on D, their safeties weren't cheating up too much and their pass rush is insane, but it didn't matter because we torched them w runs to the edge whenever we wanted to.

    Lovely to see

  5. given what we pay knox, and how much of a total upgrade dalton is his first year, gabe would have a place on the roster for 8-10 a year.

i'd like to get better at the position, but unless we are spending a top 2 round pick, or going out and getting someone proven (which will cost more) then our history tells me we won't be doing that.

if he lights it up in the playoffs, then you keep him just for that.  ow, i'd want to move on.
