NE loses to Baltimore and Miami. We win 2 of the last three. We win the division and go into the playoffs as the second seed.
You heard it here first.
Given Denver won today, I think it's very improbable that they aren't the 1 seed.
If we aren't the 1 seed, I kinda think winning out but losing the division might be a favorable thing if Denver hosts us in their first game, because I think they could be one and done.

Parino is insufferable.
I don't even know which one of them that is
I like some of the shows, even if they are dumb as two posts, that have a bunch of ex players on them (podcast, not an ESPN type show) because you get the perspective of actual NFL guys. They never beat the handicappers, but it is at least interesting to me. The network TV guys are just garbage, and I honestly don't understand how anyone can watch them

Just putrid play, classic over pursuit.
Well, Josh has to go do it again, at least once

86 had a great play, but if he kept his feet he woulda had way more.
Need another 7 here

Immediate difference. McD should always have a play sheet.
MCD not calling d plays and letting babbyich anywhere near the signal is malpractice.
-
Looks like the ATL game. D can't stop a cold, o can't pass and doesn't have much of a run game going.
Honestly, bills on the road vs a team off of a bye just shows the biggest issues on this team. Uncreative, predictable, not prepared.
-
So we have McDaniels vs babbich and injuries, we have Williams/vrable vs MCD/Brady on the other side.
W the injuries and stuff maybe we couldn't win today, but not even showing up like this is sad
-
Every time they stunt they get instant pressure. It's so obvious how they are prepared and we are not.
They just have better veteran coaching vs us with our raw no bodies.

This is exactly how I expected this game to go. We are one of the worst first half teams I’ve ever seen.
Our first and second half splits are crazy, also our home and away

I don’t think it’s a “disaster.” That’s an over exaggeration. There are areas that need drastic improvement such as the pass rush and WRs who can stretch the field. Injuries have been devastating, but you can’t really “improve” health. I think the Bills have some of the best depth in the NFL defensively. I don’t go into a game panicking if a starting LB or DT goes down.
Offensively, this is the most balanced Allen has had. I don’t really have to explain Cook’s role as it speaks for itself. 1308 yards rushing and still has 4 games to go. People really don’t appreciate how much of an advantage an elite running game is come playoff time.
The Tight Ends are also an area where the Bills are near top of the league. Hawes emergence has been a pleasant surprise. He’s the type of versatile player you see on most championship teams. Kincaid’s only barrier is his health. Knox is finally the player we all knew he could be. All in all, very strong unit. They will be heavily relied upon against the Patriots.
O-line is another unit which i think is at the strongest it’s been under the McDermott regime. In years prior, the Bills offense was much more finesse.
Always top of the league in pass protection, but not a ton of push in the run game. In 2025, all of that has changed. Pass protection isn’t elite like years past, but I don’t mind because they are running it down the opposition’s throat.
gaps in the nfl are small. if we had full health on the D, w hoyt, carter, bosa, rook jackson, and ed oliver out there we might have 2 more road wins (miami and houston).
to show how small -- having kinkaid available means our team is 8-1 in those games. we lost atl without him, we lost to the fins and houston without him, we are 1-3 when he doesn't play. the one game we did lose with him, hosting NE, we got horribly jobbed by the refs (100 yards in penalties is shocking) and we had 3 turnovers, which is very rare at home. and we still lost by only 3 and kinkaid went of vs the cheats.
on D, our epa vs the run goes from bottom 5 when bernard has played to top 3 when shaq thompson has played. part of that is bernard is hurt, but a lot of that is thompson is a legit talented big strong MLB, and bernard is small and not strong and suited more to the WLB type role for us. i also think thompson is a much better signal caller on D. the most striking example was the atl game. we got trucked unmerciful in the first half w bernard sticking it up, and we were so so so much better in the 2nd half w thompson.
if the roster is a disaster, it's because we have no talent at WR, and we have had so much talent missing or playing hurt on D. and even then, this team is potent w kinkaid and thompson on the field.

is it certain that if we win out and the pats split w the dolphins that we win the division? It goes to like the 3rd or 4th tie breaker in that case.
obv, if we win out and they drop to the fins and ravens, we get the division, and frankly i think that's sort of out best (or only) shot.
I will say, depending on who wins the south in the case where we don't win the east (jax or hou or maybe even indy) and who else ends up as a wild card, there seems to be a fairly good chance that we will be the only wild card winner week one (say if we are at pittz, which i think is most likely). that means that if the pats are the number one seed, they come off of a bye and host us. a young upstart team like that, especially a vrable coached one cuz he got his titans beat by cincy when they were the 1 seed a few years back, they have a real risk of peaking early and being one and done in the playoffs. i really want the 1 seed/division, but beating the pats as a wild card when they are the 1 seed to travel to denver for the afc chip sounds like the easiest path for our team to a chip BY MILES since we've gotten josh allen. ragged pittz team, not ready net pats team, and then bo nix and the broncos even if all on the road is a good script. only the pats out of all of them can stop the run, and they can't even slow down kinkaid, and we have the much better and more experienced qb (save rogers, but he's cooked). i also don't think we get out coached in those games like we have vs ried in past.
in the nfl imo it's green bay or the rams. i'd rather play the rams if we got that far, i think gb is a bad match up for us, but at that point i'd be ready for all comers.

I don’t think it’s fair to say McDermott “can’t” win a Super Bowl when we’re heading into a postseason where we might not even see Mahomes, Lamar, or Burrow in the playoffs. That alone changes the entire AFC landscape. And we all know Allen elevates his game in the postseason. When he’s in that mode, he can go toe-to-toe with any QB in the league.
Combine Allen going full Superman with Cook giving us a real run game and a defense that’s trending upward (not elite, but definitely improving), and there’s a very realistic path to the AFC title game, and beyond. Once you’re in the Super Bowl, anything can happen in a one-game scenario, especially with a quarterback like Allen who’s capable of completely taking over.
The season still has to play out before anyone can claim McDermott “will never” win a championship. The truth is, we’ve been close multiple times. Being close doesn’t guarantee it will happen, but it absolutely proves it can. Just because he hasn’t won one yet doesn’t mean he’s incapable of doing it.
What gives you this impression? Has there been some comments made or anything else that has come out? I’m legitimately curious.
i heard some radio guys talk about it, and some sort of un sourced stuff i saw on bills twitter. partly it's what people are saying about mcd's comments, but i think at the very least tensions are rising. and they should be, it's been too close for too long.

I think it has to do with his relationship with Beane.
i think there is internal finger pointing going on at one bills drive. i don't know if it's some like normal good competitive level, or a negative destructive level, but i think it's there and bigger than before.

I think Beane overvalues his draft board vs. the grades given by other teams on certain players which has him consistently trading up and chasing a player and drafting for need. In the 2025 draft, he traded the team's 2 2nd rounders to Chicago for the 9th pick in the 2nd round to pick DT Sanders. He's been a serviceable rotational DT this year.
The Bears used those picks on an OT, Ozzy Trapilo, and DT, Shemar Turner. A DT that graded out on par with Sanders. So in theory, staying at 24 and 30 the Bills could have filled the DT need and selected another player at another position. Only 1 other DT went in the 2nd round, at 11 to the 49ers, before the 30th pick. Its hindsight but its also a good example of the value of staying put and not spending premium picks on trade ups in the draft.
ya, i think he likes taking 'clever' risks. it has worked from time to time, and we end up w more picks than we can roster a lot, so i see why he makes moves.
tbh, i think what he did early, big giant moves to get allen, edmunds, and diggs, are the way to go. it's what the rams do, they had no 1st round picks for like 9 years or something, and were always trying to trade up to draft specific guys they loved (like the DE they got the year before last). they see it as go for gold, or just take who is where you pick.
-
i was a bit down on him early, and im still worried cuz he got hurt in our last two playoffs, but when he's on he's a top 10 defensive player (any position) in the nfl.

The win was great yesterday, but I have no illusions about the playoffs. This defense is not going on the road and winning 3 straight games against good teams. Road games are different. Allen won't be able to be Superman in all of them and you need a few defensive 3 and outs.
you are right about the road problems, but frankly it's not the d on the road, it's the O. our d got destroyed by miami on the road, but the O turned the ball over horribly that day which led to our collapse.
our biggest issue, and the reason we lost to atl, houston, and kinda miami on the road, is we just can't pass the friggen ball on the road at all. we turn it over in desperation when teams key in on the run game. we had a shot last year w the in season trade (maybe not a great one) to get adams instead of cooper, and we coulda signed him as a FA maybe (again, it seemed he wanted to be in LA), and reports are we balked on trading up some picks for waddle this season. getting waddle mighta won us the game vs miami (as he killed us, and we couldn't sustain on O) and houston. that alone puts us in a position to beat NE and be the #1 seed.
the roster that we fielded vs cinci was pretty short on talent, but missing hoyt, oliver, bosa, carter, rook jackson, bernard (he sucked so far this year, but i think he's been hurt the whole time), palmer, spencer, samuels is just a bridge too far. throw in one single game breaker at wr and i think we have 2 more wins this season, to me that's the biggest hole beane has allowed, and what make people angry is he did it by design (as shown on his smashing of wgr radio guys for talking about wr).

It's a difficulty, but good GMs find a way to ID those players and get it done. He's had 8 drafts + McDermott in 2017.
i'd state it as a great gm finds a way to find and get those players, but the point stands.
i wonder if this is beane being "cheap" with his management of pics or something, or just his kinda fraidy cat mentality of fearing not having great depth, so he doesn't pull the trigger on getting waddle for a 1st in 2026 (+ something else im sure) or whatever.
at the time i liked the trade for cooper (who i think went from a ton of talent and not so much passion for the game to less talent and not so much passion for the game) but in retrospect if he coulda gotten adams (maybe it wasn't on the table cuz adam's loves aaron) and moved cap around and not signed palmer or whatever, that woulda put us in a much much better position right now.

Some crazy no calls on the pats secondary to give it to them.
Vrable always has his teams like that, like the old billecheat or Seattle teams. They foul nearly every play and just dare the refs to call it, and they never do

Literally a hold in the back

Lol 87 grabbed the jersey from behind on that play and no flag!

In KC that might end up being a catch
