  1. He cut Posey not only because he didn't fit the system, but also because there is another linebacker on the team who is younger that fits his system extremely well. Since there is no reason to adjust your system for the sole benefit of your second string linebacker Posey got cut.

  2. Mularkeys biggest problem was his inability to adjust on the fly. He was very good at scripting opening drives, as can be seen by the high rate of opening drive success for the bills in the last year. Unfortunately for the Bills the other team would make adjustments to his playcalls and he wasn't adaptable enough to make adjustments to compensate for the defenses adjustments.

  3. I think that we have good reasons to be optimistic about this OC hireing. Mike Martz is one of the best in the league at designing plays, but at times he is too stubborn to make the correct in game call. (remember the playoff game when he ran out the clock to go into overtime, or his lack of desire to ren the ball)

What we have here is a guy that could have easily copied much of the Rams excellent playbook, but who has background as a RB coach. I would hope that this background will increase his desire to balance the offense that he learned while working in St. Louis. Which would put him in the position to make good decisions about offensive game management.

  4. I am so sick of people saying that Donahoe did a respectable job because JimKellysJockStrap on some message board says that he thought that the move was a good idea at the time. GMs aren't hired to make decisions that are popular with the fans. They are supposed to make decisions that allow their team to win.

I don't care who thought that the Fat Mike move was good at the time. Donahoe had much more information availible to him than any internet warrior who ranked his draft. Therefore the mistake of the internet warrior is excuseable but not the mistake of the highly paid GM.

  5. We have:

    A depressingly bad team.

A night game on a Saturday.

    A very cold night.

A game which you know you are knowing to lose.

    The second string QB starting.

Gee I'm really surprised that some people at this game drank too much
