Driver is done. They should be interested in Jennings.
-
honestly who cares
This. He's never coaching the Bills, so I couldn't care less.
-
So, was this a marketing move, or one of cronyism?
The case can be made that this move helps with regional marketing, but it's definitely not cronyism as Marrone was also drawing serious interest from both Philly and Cleveland.
-
Two 8-5 years isn't necessarily impressive.
It is relative to what he inherited. The 'Cuse program was totally in shambles pre-Marrone, and that wasn't very long ago.
-
Great move. This is the first time the Bills have ever excited me with a head coaching hire.
-
^Means nothing. They didn't run Spiller enough, which was the problem.
-
Of the people they're interested in, just Whisenhunt. I'd be fine with Kelly, Smith, Horton, Marrone or McCoy.
-
And how about the 2 point formation? How can you not want this guy in Buffalo?!
For sure. I'd love to have him.
-
I'd say they are ready.
Can't believe they went for two already. Kelly's got balls.
-
If it's not him, it's Brady or Manning. Take your pick among the three. There's no wrong answer.

Isn't Alex Smith the reincarnation of Ryan Fitzpatrick?
No. The only thing they have in common is they aren't great at throwing downfield, but Smith does everything else better. He'd be an easy upgrade over Fitz.
-
if we get Alex Smith I may have to boycott a season
Because of the guy with the 70 percent completion rate, 8.0 YPA, 13 TDs to 5 INTs, and 104.0 rating this season? Seems silly. He'd be a fine stopgap until the Bills actually find a franchise QB in the draft. Odds are that won't be this year, so they'll have to make do with something and Smith will probably be the best available option.

Another "great interview" guy. Been there before, haven't we?
Would you rather have a "bad interview" guy? Horton has a good track record as a coach. He wouldn't just be hired because of some quotes.
-
the Bills need a guy who has been a head coach before.
No they don't.
-
has been successful everywhere and didn't have enough time in cleveland even though he just drafted a good QB, WR, and RB. I could be talked into it and we could do worse.
Seahawks drumline?
Is that you Mike Schopp.
Lets get off the old kick, the only thing that matters is Good or bad. He has been in the front office so it's not like he doesn't have a clue how the game is played and he can still coach. Bruce Arians is old, so is Dick Lebeau would you kick them out as HC and DC respectively?
I have no interest in Bruce Arians coaching the Bills unless Andrew Luck is coming with him. LeBeau is a hell of a coordinator; that's not the same job as head coach by any means. Bottom line: No to Holmgren.
-
Do not want. He's old and hasn't coached since 2006.
-
Rooney rule.
Ray Horton would already fuilfill that requirement, if they are indeed going to interview him in Arizona.
-
Jackson's a solid candidate, but the ideal scenario for me is Lovie at HC and Jackson at OC.
-
They're both good candidates.

Take a step back?? To where? The Bills are a 4-6 win team WITH these 2 guys.
If we lose Byrd, does our awful defense really get significantly worse? Losing Levitre will lead to fewer points scored on a offense that can't score points?
These would be significant psychological losses. perhaps
....
This is poor logic. What hope do the Bills have of ever becoming a good team if they let their best players leave and just keep creating holes? Byrd is an elite safety in the league and Levitre is a borderline elite guard. They both need to be retained. Just because the team sucks doesn't mean it's the fault of these two guys.
-
I have to believe Arizona's game of musical turds at QB has something to do with it. Stevie Johnson has better numbers than Larry Fitzgerald for crying out loud.
Exactly. Skelton and Lindley are bad enough to make Larry Fitz a non-entity. That's saying something.
-
Smith is going first overall. No chance he'll be a Bill.
-
i think byrd is gone for sure
I think it's the other way around. Levitre gone, Byrd tagged or signed. Losing either would be a major blow, of course.
-
Strictly as a backup would be OK. I don't want to see him on the field again unless there's an injury to whichever rookie QB the Bills draft.
Is being bald/white a prerequisite to getting a coordinator job at OBD
