  1. Evidently it was Mangini, not Favre, who threw nine interceptions and two touchdowns down the stretch. Bonus: The Jets are intent on retaining Favre, assuming he wants to play. Pencil them in for seven wins next season.
  2. I'd be shocked and delighted if Parcells went anywhere after only one year.
  3. I think Royal will definitely be out. Kelsay should also go. A dark-horse is Dockery.
  4. I just can't see Parcells opting out after one season and leaving the rebuilding unfinished in Miami. And I especially can't see Ralph Wilson ever forking out the money for someone as expensive as Parcells.
  5. Cassel or Edwards. No to everyone else.
  6. I once read that Carroll's inspiration came from seeing the Bills' Wall of Fame in his first season as the Jets' coach. 'Twas a cool thing to see, that the Bills inspired him way back then. Nevertheless, he's not coming here.
  7. Yes, because a whole lot of QBs would have been great in those conditions. Cassel attempted eight passes.
  8. Except for criticizing Edwards' use of gloves, your points are pretty much correct. I couldn't care less about gloves; even Brady used to wear them. If the guy feels more comfortable wearing them, so be it.
  9. It wouldn't surprise me if the Dolphins were to miss the playoffs next season. For one, they'll have to play a first-place schedule instead of a last-place schedule. Also, Parcells' teams have been known to exceed expectations in Year 1 and fall back a bit the second (see his time in Dallas as an example). As for the rest of the division, the Jets aren't that big of a threat -- especially if Favre sticks around -- and the Pats are the Pats. If the Bills can actually get a coaching hire right for a change (an Everest-sized order, I know), they'll have a chance to compete.
  10. Their fans are losers. We can agree on that. The team itself is what I don't hate anymore (at least until Brady comes back).
  11. I'd rather have the Patriots make it than the Dolphins, which didn't use to be the case. What's happened this season is that my hatred for the Pats has turned to respect; how can you not be in awe of their ability to lose big-time players and simply chug forward? Eleven wins without Tom Brady is a damn impressive feat, one I never thought I'd see when he tore his knee up in Week 1. Props to Matt Cassel, whom I like a lot, and even Bill Belichick, whom I greatly respect far more than ever before. The past two seasons have demonstrated that the Patriots don't need a camera to be a top-notch team.
  12. Haslett is horrific. I think I'd rather have Jauron, to be honest.
  13. His 57-76 career record vehemently disagrees. Take out the anomaly of a lucky 13-3 season, and that record plummets to 44-73. What a coach.
  14. I'd be happy with a lot of people, from cheap (April) to more expensive and unrealistic (Schottenheimer). Jauron's driven me nuts for three years; time for a change.
  15. "Hey, Gingerballs, you goin' to a dick meeting?" Nobody's going to get that. . .
  16. Just be glad the Dolphins chose Culpepper over Brees a few years back. What an epic blunder.
  17. Mitchell's pretty damn effective when used consistently as a blitzer (the Seattle, San Diego and Cleveland games come to mind), but Fewell's not smart enough to utilize the guy to his strength.
  18. Who needs Polian when you've got a supergroup consisting of Brandon, Guy, Modrak and Wilson's daughters?
  19. The punt by Cassel was awesome, too. You've gotta tip your cap to BB and his team; they're just smarter and better than most.
  20. Fassel has already begged the Raiders for their job. Thus, he'll probably be hired by Al Davis, whom Fassel greatly admires for some reason.
