Bear in mind that Golisano was never very passionate about hockey, so expecting him to pour his heart and soul and resources fully into the Sabres was unrealistic. Still, he did a decent job as their owner - they routinely spent closer to the cap max than the cap floor if memory serves, made two final four appearances, and won their division twice. I wonder how big of a football fan he is.

Palmer has been mediocre since 2007. His numbers this past season were basically identical to the ones he has put up over the last half decade, so you can't blame rust. He's an average QB.

Just because the now-departed Al Davis fired a lot of coaches in the recent past, that shouldn't preclude Reggie McKenzie from building the organization the way he wants. If Jackson isn't McKenzie's guy, then there's no reason for him to stay aboard as the head coach. BTW, Jackson has no one to blame but himself after that horrific Palmer trade.

I laughed. He's very much done as an effective NFL player.
