  1. I was rooting for Favre... would have been a hell of a story I also think that 9 months from now he should still be physically just as able as he is now. But I just don't see him coming back. I think he might be worried he would have a bad year and another injury like when he played for the Jets... but who knows?! I hope he comes back because he is good for the game
  2. McNabb to Minnesota makes a LOT of sense.... I think Favre is done... he beat GB twice, he already has a SB ring, holds almost every passing record, and proved all the haters and doubters wrong.... 31 teams go home losers every year... If the Vikes won yesterday, they would have lost to Indy anyway and it would have been even more epic
  3. nobody wants to believe that the Bills truly are a joke... it didn't use to be this way Now we're right on par with Oakland... sad but true Ralph fired Polian. Other than when Polian was here, when were the "glory days?" 1960?
  4. it's because the NFL is a mutual admiration society of good ole boys who talk each other up NO MATTER WHAT because part of the deal is that you get that in return NFL people have NOTHING BAD to say about Dick Jauron even to this day. He is almost universally called a GREAT (not even just good) coach and a great football guy by NFL types (when they are ON RECORD).
  5. not only do Pats fans hate Manning, they feel threatened by him winning another SB ring Remember, "Manning has the stats but Brady has the rings, therefore Brady is the greatest of all time.... Manning can't win the big one" If Manning gets #2 the rings part of the equation is basically moot... NE fans are praying to Bruschi that it doesn't happen
  6. Most people don't realize that Ralph's estate gets MORE $$ if the team is still in Buffalo at the time of sale! Pit WNY against LA, Toronto, and who knows where else.... The lease is up in 2012.... even now it costs peanuts to void it PERFECT SCENARIO for a sale.. no minority owners to deal with, just a clean sale and an easy move Given that, many different cities will line up to try to rip this team away and the price will go WAY UP because of that. If they move to LA now, then they are not going ANYWHERE for a LONG LONG time, so investors from other cities who want a team in their hometown won't be in the picture, thus LESS MONEY.
  7. Briere and Drury are signed to disgusting contracts that far exceed their value to their respective teams. KUDOS to Darcy for not signing Briere to a 7 year 50 million dollar deal that would have cost us Vanek or maybe Miller.
  8. ha! Good stuff.... One thing is for sure, although nothing will "happen" the cultural upheaval and drama that will occur might be pretty bad in tis own right. What are people going to do if they truly think the world is coming to and end? Should be a fun year, and especially a fun few weeks in December.
  9. EVERY owner wants to win, just like every person wants to be a success in life. Some prefer to rely on luck and continue to make the same mistakes over and over, while others rely on making sensible and deliberate moves to be successful. You gotta give Ralph this much: his luck has SUCKED lately so the law of averages must come into play eventually.
  10. The rule is fine the way it is. The Cardinals DEFENSE won the game yesterday, and in fact, with a good enough defense, I might even kick off in overtime and play the field possession game since all I need is a FG. In the NFL, you need to kick off, cover the kick, play defense, and play offense. College football overtime is all about offense. If we used college rules it would be the Patriots vs someone every year in the Super Bowl because a group of good old boys would select the Super Bowl participants. Teams like the Saints could go 14-2 and have to settle for the Geico.com bowl.
  11. it's Marty! Ralph caved!
  12. What better way to help recoup the investment in a big name coach? New unis (well the old unis) and all the associated merchandise! Plus I want to see the red standing Buffalo at midfield!
  13. I think Marty himself is a great candidate, which is why his (Marty's) son said he was happy with the Jets. I also think Marty doesn't want to take a job that his son could get, which is why he has played coy with his interest.
  14. I hope its the throwback uni announcement. Almost everyone likes them better than the UFL ones we wear now. I don't see any way this can be coaching related. To have such a specific date so far in advance to announce a coaching hire seems extremely unlikely, given all the possible twists and turns to the process.
  15. crap! That means he'll miss all the practices and games in Jan, Feb, and maybe even March!
  16. BTW, I'm sure I'm not the only one who was a bit afraid of what I was about to read based on that thread title
  17. I'm not sure what a metaphor is (I'm not into Hip-Hop) but I know bad person when I see one.
  18. total B.S NO WAY they sign Cowher to a 1 year deal
  19. People forget that Cowher had the same reputation: couldn't win it all....Until he finally did. It took 15 years though. If you gave Marty 15 years with the Chargers, he would have won a SB.
  20. if I had the power to pick ANY coach, it would be Marty. Marty is the MAN, plain and simple.
  21. why would they ruin New Year's eve by hiring Fewell? Couldn't this wait until we get blown out by the colts 3rd stringers and make it a two-for one deal??
  22. Colts are pathetic.... You can never count on them to get it done... Freaking sissies
  23. best players? Edwards is a scrub backup... McGee fits the Bill as "one of our best players" but he hurt his shoulder and arm pretty bad so it makes sense. EDIT: BYRDMAN?! DAMMIT! Maybe you are right.
  24. Kelly seems awfully tied in to what is going on with the team I wouldn't be surprised if Ralph sold 49% to Kelly and his group now, with the other 51% to be sold at a set price immediately upon his passing (or sooner if Ralph wished to get out of the business). That way, Ralph is still the man calling the shots, but the future of the team is secure. Al Davis is only one of several Raiders owners, but he owns the biggest share, so he is the man.
