This is exactly true. The Buffalo Bills Organization were responsible for however good or bad that message board was. And nobody else. They had the authority and it was what they made it. Think about this for a minute it is very interesting to me. The press said and the team denied, that the Bills front office was dysfunctional had no clear management structure and a lack of accountability. The message board was an exact picture of that. Dysfunctional? Yes indeedy. Management structure? No one in charge and the Bills, who had final say, paid no attention. Lack of accountability? The Bills board had many problems, for which the Bills blamed the users. It fits perfect as a window into the Bills organization. Next, the new regime comes and what do they do? Get rid if it. And that, again, is a perfect synopsis of what the new team does. But here is the question moving forward. The new regime has shown it will solve old problems by getting rid of them. It seems to have helped. But they have not yet been faced with new problems. And they have not really problem solved anything. Anyone can just fire or cut or trade problem people. Anybody can just pull the plug on a message board. But can they manage and get more out of people, instead of just getting rid of them? That remains to be seen.

Year End Awards TBD style
BadLandsMeanie replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I nominate DC Tom. Example of their idiotic work included in the quote above. Thank you. About the contest, Since nobody cares what I think :> : We have ten or so winners and how many registered posters? So in the end the best we can come out with is, 10 winners and what, 4 thousand losers? And that is if things go nice and smooth. I am not a big fan of this idea. That being said I don't care what y'all do, just saying my take on it. Happy New Year -
Want a fairy tale? Want to hear a tin foil hat fantasy? Once upon a time there was a league upon which BILLIONS of dollars were wagered on games through legal and illegal bookies every year. All one has to do is cover the spread to win the bet. The game W/L outcome doesn't even matter in most of it. The league officials can ignore very obvious infractions, or make completely obviously wrong play reversals nullifying scores and so on, and NOTHING happens to them. But nobody ever makes calls like that to influence the score, because it would be wrong. That is the fairy tale if you ask me.
-
No evidence. But I do think so. I think so because a good fair number of the calls over the past few years appear to be exactly that. Game fixing. And there is no reasonable explanation offered why those plays would have been called that way. So I think it is fixed because it looks like it is fixed.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - No Match for the Patriots
BadLandsMeanie replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey Shaw thanks. I didn't get to see the game today because I got like a horrible horrible flu that came out of nowhere in about one hour I went from feeling fine to shivering under the blankets. Anyway I worked up the resolve to go to the doctor today which is where I was when the game was on. You know those old movies where the slugger tells little Billy in the hospital he will hit a homer just for him? And little Billy listens on the radio from his hospital room and his spirits are lifted when the man comes through? Well I am not little Billy and not in the hospital, but I decided to keep my radio off. And I can watch the games on my phone too. I didn't. Because I already felt horrible and I didn't want to watch what was going to happen out there on top of it. It went about how one would suppose it would go, because it always does. I just have one question please. At the end when it became apparent that the Bills had to turn it up, that they had to take some chances or lose, did Tyrod look like he didn't understand that? Was he his same reserved patient cautious self right up to the end? -
When did you know today's game was over?
BadLandsMeanie replied to Chicharito's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry to say this, but you asked. In September. -
My vote is for Joe B. He has original content of his own. He live-streamed camp from his phone. He is not a fan - boy or a Bills basher. And he works hard and is funny sometimes. Wait, am I in love with Joe B? Hmm. Nawww. But I might be if he was a woman =) The best 2 months of Bills coverage and commentary from a new Buffalo News reporter of the year!

This is not true unless that information was withheld at the time. You will need to prove this for me to believe it. Because I watched that sale closely and there was nothing about being required to build a stadium. Also it would be very odd don't you think? You buy a used boat and the sale agreement requires that you must build a new dock for it ten years? You know...you make it hard not to take advantage of the opening here buddy. Fortunately I am above such things. And I need the contact about good polish grocery stores and single women in the area. But there have to 1,500 old jokes to pick from when you ask "what kind of polak are you"? I deserve some kind of medal for letting this one go by.

It is another chance for Taylor. However what he does worst is what Bellicheck does best. Tyrod has trouble seeing the filed and understanding it quickly. Bellicheck is great at disguising things and mixing it up. I Tyrod isn't that talented and isn't good at decoding schemes and this is a big game, away, where we almost never win. It is porobably not going to go well for him. If it does go very well for Tyrod then he will indeed be making it harder to let him go.

Rolling Ball of Butcher Knives

Marcell Dareus is headed to the Hall of Fame. Word is after the season he is planning a trip to nearby McDonaldsville, Ohio which is just down the road from the HOF. He is going to be disappointed. He is expecting a food related theme park. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonaldsville,_Ohio -
He said "Voice". She did not like her "voice" So maybe YOU should not be pointing the finger at me for not understanding things here. I think you are just a nasty person looking to pick at people and make yourself feel like a more enlightened person while doing it. With Beth I do not like her voice in big doses. Which of course is only a problem because she is an announcer. It would also be a problem is she was a singer. I do not know what you sound like. But you, I do not like. See the difference? I do not like you in a house. I do not like you with a mouse. I do not like you here or there. I do not like you anywhere. Ok Im done for good in here now.

No need for ignore. Just that most people are not STUMPED when you ask them what their thought process was. Because they know. That didn't happen with you. Now I know that about you. No wonder you rely on making remarks about how childish I am. Do you know why that is a stupid thing to say? Take a minute and think. Still can't say? It is stupid Ol Dirty B to say I am childish, because you don't know me! And I am done in here so adios to the Beth thread.

Im listening to the game on TV and I said to myself that she has the type of voice that annoys me (think Ma Kettle) and that I will not be able to tell anyone that her voice bothers me, because I will be accused of "hating" women. I do not hate women. Quite the contrary. I come pretty close to hating labelers and accusers because of things like that though. Anyway, I liked her and her voice because apparently I have to.

I am noticing that the things you say, just sort of are the things you say. They don't seem to "go along" with anything. They are free of worldly factual content, like a Picasso painting sort of. People do not have eyes for example, on their belly buttons. In your abstract posts, they do. I think you posts are like that. And I enjoy them for what they are. But it is taking it a bit too far when you insist that anyone who states that people do not have eyes on their belly buttons, are morons. That is the only point I would choose to make to you. " Nevertheless Whaley was taken by how parallel Ryan’s approach to winning in the NFL was to his own principles of developing a perennial contender. “For me his philosophy on how to build a championship team, a consistent championship team is exactly the way I think a team should be built,” said Whaley. “It’s proven. This past postseason everybody was talking about the conference championship games and the four quarterbacks in there were unbelievable quarterbacks, but the common theme in both of those games was the running game. A running game and a defense is a quarterback’s best friend. And those types of teams consistently compete for championships. “I knew when he started talking about how he wanted to build a team and I could complete his sentences and he could complete mine in how we want the Buffalo Bills to look we were on the same page.” Not long after the interview with Ryan had concluded the Pegulas along with Brandon and Whaley had reached a consensus rather quickly. “He came in and really elevated himself to the top position where we said, ‘Hey we’ve got to have another talk with this guy,’” said Kim Pegula of Ryan. “It was funny because at the start of the process Kim and Terry asked me who my favorite was and I said, ‘You can’t go in with any preconceived notions of what you want and what you like. You’ve got to go in with an open mind so you don’t have any biases,’” said Whaley. “And at that point Kim said, ‘Well then how do you know?’ I said, ‘Unfortunately it’s like when I asked people who were married and I was single. How do you know? You just know.’ And when we got to that point we all looked at each other and knew that Rex was the guy who we wanted to be our next head coach.” "“The way we looked at it with where our team is we’re scratching at the door and knocking at the door and we want to kick that door down,” said Whaley. “So we didn’t want a guy who was learning on the job. We wanted a guy who has been there and done that before and not have those missteps of a first-time head coach. It all came together with Rex.”" http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/How-the-Bills-decided-on-Rex-Ryan-as-head-coach/19b740de-0ca3-4dd6-8fdc-58c0cf013fa2

Alright, who wants a dome?
BadLandsMeanie replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Going from memory, a retractable dome roof in this climate (meaning it has to stand up to a lot of weight from snow and ice) adds close to a billion dollars to the cost of a stadium. So a billion dollars plus maintenance for maybe 2 games a year. And we lose the Buffalo experience which lots of us like. My way may sound backwards but I think it makes sense. I would build a metal geodesic dome framework over the stadium. It would always be there and have the lighting and what not on it. But the covering would be fabric and able to be rolled in. A bunch of sections sort of like the sails on a ship. So, we would actually retract the fabric covering if high winds or a blizzard was coming. And in nice weather. But for moderate rain and general crappy weather, we would have a cover available. They could even decorate or sell adds on the fabric cover sections. So in a way it would be like a giant tent. Good for a crummy rainy day or night, but not for a big giant storm. -
Ok. I was going by what was reported before he signed it. Thanks. The article I read said they want him around because the new CBA will be coming in 3 years and they think he is good at that part of it. I think they should get him to stick to that part and have somebody else do the PR and discipline stuff.

But you are using the term football owner. Those things are part of being the owner. So is the relationship of the team to the city and the fans and the people. It is a very good one. So it the detail about we wouldn't have a team here, if he didn't make one for us to begin with. If you want to talk about his football decisions. On the whole, I would say, not so great. But there is no conflict at all about how good an owner he was. We had the Kelly Era Bills and the Kemp era Bills and we also had some very bad years. The bad years will look different of the new owners can ever get us out of the doldrums. But right now it seems to me like he was not above average if you look at the whole picture, on the win loss part of being an owner. That is how it seems to me. But as for "Owner" I say one of the greatest ever.
